NFL 2014 CC |OT| Holy Grail

That's exactly what made it so funny. And btw, does posting to the thread more than someone else make you a real fan and the other person a "lifelong"? Perhaps it's thinking like that which turns off so many fans from posting to these threads. Maybe they're not "magically" staying away.

And no, clearly the game was not over. Thus the outcome. I'm not saying you have to have a rosy outlook when all looks lost, but taunting those that do and acting like you're somehow a smarter, more qualified fan than they are because you post more? Please.
I'm just saying I can understand why he would call out some Seahawks fans who have never posted in the NFL threads before yesterday, especially when they come in acting all confrontational and asking cdy if he had even watched a Seahawks game this year.

Posting here or not doesn't make you a fan but you have to wonder about a sudden influx of "fans" who only show up for the big moments of success for their team.

The game was 99% decided and cdy felt good about those odds. Hard to fault him for that.

Where the fuck is Easley :(

I thought he would be the perfect low ceiling impact player for this win now team, boy was I wrong. Gotta go DL again in the draft until we find a solid pass rusher.

This was essentially a redshirt season for him. I felt like he could've had a Jamie Collins-like breakout in the playoffs if he'd remained on the roster, but I'm also okay with them shutting him down early so he can start next season on schedule, two years removed from the ACL tear. The team could be improved a lot if Easley and Dobson return and live up to their potential next season.

They seem to be coming back every year for the playoffs, so they hardly have my sympathies for how they are treated.

This reminds me, where the FUCK is icyrhythms! Anyone think we'll ever see that guy again?

BTW, amazing thing about this is how horrible both the Patriots and Seahawks looked early in the season.

The first 4 games in it looked like Tom Brady was washed up and the Patriots were on there way to missing the playoffs..

The Seahawks mid-season looked like a team with no offense, but the offense was still okay but flawed.

Both finished so damn strong.

Chiefs awoke both monsters.

It's mainly a matter of time and interest in my opinion. Ipost in the NHL threads regularly, but hell I like mma and baseball and basketball and plenty of other sports, I can't post a whole bunch in every single thread! I don't care who shows up out of the woodwork. Every single fan of every single team isn't going to post here on some primarily video game focused message board.

I was a newcomer to the thread before after being a casual football fan for years, like to think I fit in decent enough now, and just decided to dive in. I can certainly understand wanting to stay away just the same too.

That guy is done lol. Haven't seen him in ages. Hey Bread can you take your shirt off in the next breadstream? 😁

I'm not sure how the Pats played so bad against a shit offense like the Ravens and disposed of Indy's with such ease. Their only scoring drive was because of a PI on 3rd down..

Woke up this morning and had to remind myself that that Seahawks win actually did happen. What an epic choke job from the Packers, one for the ages.

None of the teams in the playoffs really look "good" or "dominant" to me, except for maybe the Pats but their division is so shit that it's hard to measure how they would fare against the Seahawks or even the Packers. Anyways, on the the SuperbOwl.

I feel like they were so afraid of the run against BALT and focused the game plan to contain that (and personnel)...then with that failing miserably, the pass D suffered. The D line was supposed to stop the run and essentially couldn't put any kind of pressure on Flacco and with the base D on, you have the worst coverage unit. So no QB pressure + ill suited pass D personnel = Flacco field day.

And lets not forget BALT still ran the ball at will...that is what makes the SEA game worrying. I'm sure they'll be in base D for SEA.

My "expert" analysis.

You guys were terrified of Ravens run game, and get pressure on Luck and take away TY.

It was literately the same gameplan from years back and we couldn't even score a legitimate TD against it. Pep is so fucking dumb, but I guess that's what we get for hiring an ex-Jets OC when we don't have a running game.

If you talk about the bad defenses the patriots played then you should talk about the bad offenses the seahawks played.

I don't have to. Wussle threw 4ints and they kept the game within reach.

That will not happen again and you guys aren't that much better than Packers offense outside of Gronk. Even yesterday when you guys weren't running it you didn't look all that threatening. We just looked really bad and couldn't tackle on runs or short passes. Remember last year when you guys did this to us but Denver beat you anyway?

I think your defense is the key to winning this game, but idk what to expect from them. I'd be ok if Wussle just ran on you guys all game, that shit just can't be defended consistently. Bill can take away receivers, but good luck with that running back!

I remember there being no Gronk that game, nor Aqib Talib. Brady was throwing passes to Hoo Man, Matthew Mulligan, and Austin Collie. Bad times. But your point remains- just because you can pull something off against the Colts, doesn't mean that'll happen against the Seahawks, at all. I just have to hope that the neutral field eliminates whatever intangible advantage the Seahawks usually have over their opponents.

Last year it was the Colts, but now we are rock bottom. Texans will get good or pretend to get good and the Luck deal will dagger us.
Our window has already closed and Luck will now be Manning 2.0. This was confirmed when I saw him do Luckface after his second INT yesterday, it was deathly similar to Peyton's defeated face after Bill used to own him in Gillette.

These are dark times.

So defensively for the Pats, are they gonna stack the box and then dare the Seattle receivers to beat them? Because I feel like that's a decent matchup.

lol at Seahawks' players (read:Doug Baldwin) playing up the "no one respected us, everyone counted us out" card yesterday after the game.

For yesterday's game specifically, the Seahawks played like shit for 3.75 quarters and only got away with a win because the defense made just enough plays to keep the game close enough for GB to give it away at the end. Any "disrespect" was well-warranted.

For the season as a whole, no one was "counting out" the Seahawks when they were 3-3,6-4. They were surprised and disappointed -and for the crazy people that thought that SEA had a legit shot at going undefeated, completely flabbergasted- but no one thought that Seattle was completely done and had no shot at going back to the Super Bowl.

But I get it, these guys need any and all motivation possible to psych themselves up to compete at the highest level. If that involves imagining slights against them from their competitors, the media, the fans, etc.etc., they'll do it.

EDIT: And the playoffs were terrible.

AFC was a total snoozefest other than Ravens-Pats. NFC had a lot of bad football and then refs making themselves bigger than the game.

That rant and him going at Deion made me like him more. I rather have personalities like him then these fake ass nice guys. Also I'm pretty sure there were reporters and experts out there doubting them but maybe not. I still wouldn't put it past it though. In the end it is what it is.

I wouldn't compare this team to last year's at all.

The problem is that Russell Wilson's ability to run might force them into more zone coverage, which isn't necessarily their strength. If they can figure that out, I feel pretty confident in the DBs against their receivers and TEs in man coverage. Luke Willson could be the X-factor because of how bad the Patriots have been covering TEs this season.

You guys could have beat us without all those guys. That same team would beat us now.

I guess neutral field does help a lot, but it just seems like Seahawks are built well to defeat dink&dunk teams lead by good QBs. I feel that you have to be able to challenge them deep consistently to win and run on them.

I don't know if the Pats can do either. I think you guys come out attacking them with mid range throws and crosses and shit to get people open. That team is athletic as hell, with a good pass rush, and they tackle (apparently Ravens and Colts can't). They are very beatable, but idk. When Wuss can just run all the fucking time it just seems like so much to prepare for. Usually Belichick dictates the gameplan and you are at his mercy, but this game the Seahawks' talent does. Pete is no dumby like the Colts staff either.

I feel like Browner would take Willson, Revis Baldwin, and then do what they did with TY on Kearse and it'd work. Collins has the speed to contain Wilson if we need to spy Wilson though.

I'm honestly more worried about our offensive matchup than defense at this point.

Seahawks-Packers was something else. I admit I had my doubts up until the succesful onsides kick (especially when Carroll called for the punt instead of going for it on that late 4th and long) but somehow they pulled it off and got the win. I had to google Chris Mathews (the guy that got the ball on the onsides kick) to figure out who even is. Give that guy a game ball.

Why must every single game be a sweeping referendum on the QB for that team? This media-led hand-wringing has gotten out of hand. All QBs will have bad games. Sometimes those bad games will happen in big games and it has nothing to do with being a 'big game qb'. If your team is awesome you can still win those games (see Seattle).

I didn't know his shoulder was that messed up.
@AdamSchefter: Text on Seahawks S Earl Thomas, who has a dislocated shoulder: "Earl will play in the Super Bowl, don’t even waste any time on the story."

I was kidding. Mostly mocking articles stating that Luck will be new Manning in the postseason. Even though 2 of the 3 years we got knocked out was against a team that has our number to a t.

Let's be real, Brady and Manning are old news, the only storyline that matters here is Jimmy Garoppolo vs. Andrew Luck. If Garoppolo can get a Super Bowl lead on Luck at this point, it'll go a long way in determining which of them is the next GOAT.

They can run the ball.

The reason why everything they do against the Colts works is because they can't run for shit.

Wilson won't gash you guys like Flacco but damn can he sling a deep ball! I think if you guys stop Lynch there's a great chance (in the running and passing game).

Figured you might be kidding but just see this sort of sentiment everywhere with all QBs. It is equally as ridiculous as all the articles last week stating that "LUCK HAS TAKEN THE NEXT STEP!". How stupid.

Jimmy already has the higher QB rating and better postseason win percentage.

Fuck this
