3DS Streetpass Experiences

I'm almost caught up on Pink Pieces. Only two more to go!

You know what that means... Another new puzzle coming out like tomorrow to keep me from catching up...

I hope you're right :P

I completed all my panels a week or so ago and it's the best/worst feeling :(

I'm still wondering when the Smash puzzle is going to hit. It came out quite a while ago in JP - my play coins have even almost fully recovered now.

Hopefully it'll be the thing to do at MAGFest because I have nothing else left to do besides clear Mii Force on Arcade Hard and getting the gold watering can (which I'm honestly not really in a hurry to do).

I has question about Monster Manor: is there any good method to getting silver and gold boxes? I've been trying to fill up entire floors with one colour, and in one case I did get a silver box, but then it went back to bronze! Does running into multi-passed people help, like how it helps the chances of getting puzzle boxes?

The trick is to spawn the largest room possible without spawning smaller rooms in the process - so you want to create a hollow outline and then fill it with a piece to create the entire room all at once. If you can manage it, you can also involve the start square, which despite being an existing room behaves as if it was not for the purposes of spawning chests once you join it to a larger room. The number of times you've passed a person doesn't matter as far as spawning chests beyond having more chances of having a piece you need to build the room with.

I've never heard of a chest changing color once you've spawned it, though.

Alrighty, I'll have to try that outline method! And yeah that long silver box was odd. Maybe due to the shape of the room? I thought it was super weird that no more silvers showed up.

Flower town question: how do you choose the plant you hold when streetpassing other Miis? I don't see anyway to specify this.

I just had a custom streetpass greeting ask if worked at the same company (I do). Not sure how I feel about that. In one sense it's cool to see regular people and interact...on the other hand, my 3DS habits are not exactly what I want discussed at the office.

Ashamed?! Be loud and proud, Brother!

Well, I finally got that "destroy both hands" accomplishment in Mii Force! Glad I'm back to running into a lot of people again :) Only 6 more play throughs and then an attempt to beat arcade mode, in which I'll probably use a combination of dark blue and light green ships. For those that did get the accomplishment, how does it work? If you lose a pod, do you get it back next level or lose it for good? Is it the usual 2 continues for the whole thing?

I go into my local town shopping on a saturday, i get hits from, Argos, HMV, Game & McDonalds (where i have a couple of McMuffins Mmm).

It's gone for good. The retry option exists but you are limited to the number you still have in reserve, and your score resets. You will also gain access to your Miis more slowly; roughly one or two per world. (Hard mode additionally places you back in stage 1-1 if you retry and seems to never give you more than a single Mii.)

Ouch. I am going to be super tense going in to attempt it, when I do. I'm waiting for running into at least 7 people (since I can recruit the other 3) that are mainly the colours I want. Lately, I've been getting tons of the more obscure colours, like yellow, so haven't really had time for a good attempt. Oh, and I plan on playing on normal mode. No thank you on hard mode! Score is the least of my worries when I just want to complete the darn thing and get my last ticket for the game.

MONSTER HUNTER puzzle in Europe (no seriously, that is how it is written).

Edit: It seems recently they've been doing more title that. I really like YOSHI'S New ISLAND though for its mix (why not NEW?).

You do have to let go of having all the colours you want. I did mine with 7 randoms and 3 purchases I think. One of the purchases was orange as I found them very useful on the final boss.

Being able to exploit massive weaknesses to specific colours is a really useful luxury too. Like the bombs and the snake.

Of course being stuck with pink, purple and brown (not brown...brown...brown...) is no good.

It will take several goes to complete it (you'll gradually get further in) but it really is a true accomplishment when you manage to finally do it.

Wooo~

Could have done this much faster since I'm using two 3DSes but got lazy.

I got my first piece of Monster Hunter last night.

I'm about 3/4 done with NES Remix and about 2/3 done with Captain Toad, with all of the pinks from each of those.

I'm going to Nintendo World tonight, so hopefully I'll be able to get some Monster Hunter pinks and/or finish of NES Remix.

Wow, that's a lot. I think I have around 200 fantastic ratings. The bulk of them are from my kids and my one work colleague.

Yeah I'm somewhere in the 200's myself, and it's all from actually running into the same people all the time. It'll definitely take me a while still, though.

I've probably got like four fantastic rating because I'm sure most people just skim through their queue and select the wrong option. >:(

I'm to eehhh to change the Japanese Mii's hat from cat ears.

And the US one is now permanently in a wedding veil as part of my passive-aggressive and yet oh-so-pointless protest. So not getting more easy fantastics.

Has anyone here ever got a pink piece from spotpass? The odds must be incredibly low. And that's from someone who has reset one of their 3DSs about a million times to unlock all the puzzles.

It's happened to me exactly once. I don't recall which puzzle though.

It's clearly possible, or else there would be none in circulation.

The first two puzzles introduced, actually. I seriously thought for a while there that everyone received pink pieces as their free one. Since then though... all blue.

To be fair, the MonHon puzzle has been out in Japan for ages. Heck I finished it while IN Japan.

More annoyed that the SSB puzzle is still JP only.
Yeah, I get that. Don't mind me, it's sort of a joke with me coming in to complain that there's no ALBW puzzle whenever a new one shows up.

Yeah, I only remember the first few puzzles ever getting pink pieces. Mostly ever gotten blues.

Aww yeah MONSTER HUNTER!
It's weird seeing how far back in the list it is and then realising how old a puzzle it is.
I thought the Mega Man puzzle was the first third-party puzzle but obviously this one came way before it.

So in Europe we're just missing the puzzles for:
Brain Training
Chibi-Robo
Rusty's Real Deal Baseball
Kirby Fighters/Dedede Deluxe
Jam with the Band
Super Smash Bros.

We're catching up!
For somebody with a Japanese 3DS and all puzzles so far... what's the total puzzle piece count?

I got the Eon ticket ages ago, and I'm in Canada :D it hasn't even been officially released here

oh and MONHUN PANEL YESSSS... now where's Smash

Wow, I hadn't realized that it was the Western release of that old Monster Hunter puzzle. It makes sense that it's so far back then. I just assumed it was one for the new game. Good to know.

I'm still not done with the NES Remix and Captain Toad puzzles. It sucks that there was a long puzzle-less drought and now we're getting one every few weeks or so all of a sudden.

The total piece count for Japan is 1437 pieces for all puzzles, still trying to finish the smash one hoping the states get it soon so it gives me more chances at getting pieces as i get hardly any Japanese Mii's through my relay.

Cheers!

We're at 1325, I'm a little surprised as I thought the difference would be bigger.
I don't envy anybody buying a 3DS for the first time right now, needing at the very least that many hits and a bit of luck would be pretty daunting.
The percentage of all players who actually have full (or are within a single puzzle or two) sets must be pretty low actually...

Can't wait to see how the Smash puzzle looks, the last few (Pikmin, Fantasy Life, Sonic) have been disappointing but I have high hopes for this one!

Got my first Etrian Odyssey Untold streetpass the other day, despite having had the game for 3 to 4 months now! It also came with a streetpass for the Bravely Default demo, which I feel kinda bad about having deleted now, but I needed that extra space on my SD card...

man... home depot is crazy good for streetpassing

i've been making trips to best buy like a chump all this time

Meh, I only get good stuff from Home Depot during Street Pass Weekends. On normal weeks, I come away with only 4 passes! And they have like three relays points in that store. It's crazy that people even bring a 3DS to HOME DEPOT of all places! LOL It makes me wonder if the other people do the same thing that I do... come there for Streetpasses and leave!

I finally got my thrift store router set up with DDWRT and a wireless MAC script for Homepassing and it's awesome. I can fill up all of my games with Streetpasses in about an hour, except for Pokemon Y which takes a day or two.

not sure what to make of this

Er, maybe a kid learning new terminology? It is kind of funny because of how random it is though :p

Darn, my 3DS died while I was out street passing today. I did get 8 at least on my first run. I wonder if you even can receive street passes when the red blinking light is on? I've always wondered, but never wanted to drain the battery further to find out.

Finally finished NES Remix. I currently have 20 pieces left between Captain Toad and Monster Hunter. Monster Hunter pink pieces are still hard to come across for me; I've only seen two people with them (and I had to skip one in order to get my final NES Remix piece).
