And there it is, folks. After months of speculation (and a tip early this morning), we’ve just received an invite to attend Samsung’s March 1st Unpacked event in Barcelona, where they’ll finally unveil “what’s next” (hint: the Samsung Galaxy S6 and probably the Samsung Galaxy Edge). Really, the teaser doesn’t reveal too much, but if the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge is any indication, that curved line looks like it could be a side profile view of the rumored Samsung Galaxy Edge.

Rumored Samsung Galaxy S6/Edge specs:

5.1 inch 2560 x 1440 display (double curved edges for the Edge)
Samsung Exynos Octa-Core chipset
3GB of RAM
20.0MP rear camera, 5.0MP front camera
2550 mAh non-removable battery
Android 5.0 Lollipop and the latest version of TouchWiz
Festivities kick off at 6:30PM CET and for those of you that wont be attending, you can watch the entire live stream from the comfort of your couch on Samsung Mobile’s YouTube channel

I...kinda...need a new smarphone after a friend killed the glass cover-thing of my S3 .

Hmmm.... those rumored specs look impressive on paper....but I'm not sure if I want a Samsung again.

Can't really see how the edge stuff would actually be practical in a real world scenario. Also, crazy how these phones' screens keep getting bigger with every iteration. 5.1 inches is almost as big as my Note 2's screen which is humongous.

My next phone will be the smallest one with top specs. Tired of having a giant phone weighing down my pants. So probably the Z4 compact (provided Sony still keeps making phones).

No removable battery seems like a major backwards step -_-
Guess I'll be sticking with my old ass Galaxy S3 for a bit longer. (I have no reason to upgrade.)

I have a Note Edge, and the side screen has been pretty useful if only for a few basic things (I've only had the phone for a month or so, so I'm not fully settled into it).

For instance, I can use the side screen to control my music player without having to change whatever other ap I'm actively running. I also get all my notifications there, so I can check weather, look at incoming messages, things like that.

I admit it's fairly basic, but it's also in its relative infancy at the moment. It's only been out a few months total, so most aps don't really utilize it yet.

What a joke battery is actually smaller than S5 and non-removable on top of tha too. Phone companies really need to drop this obsession with thinness.

Shot my wad early and committed to a 24 month contract for the s5 just before Christmas. Will be gutted in March but at least I'm paying less than £30 per month for unlimited everything.

Is an 8 core CPU really necessary? How many apps can actually take advantage of more than 2 cores?

Damn, are they ashamed of it?

No idea. They keep pushing the Note 4, but I think the edge was supposed to be a limited concept phone. That they're releasing a Galaxy Edge I think speaks to that. I mean, it didn't help that Verizon held off on releasing the Edge for like 5 or 6 months after its competitors did.

The non-removable battery isn't a big deal to me, my HTC One M8 has a non-removable battery and I'm fine with it.

The bigger issue is space. Hopefully 32GB is the standard, with microSD support. That's what the One M8 has and I love it. it's the perfect phone except for the camera being shit.

What's the reasoning behind having a high resolution display on a small screen?

Doesn't it drain the battery more?

Now these smartphones are coming out with resolutions higher than the average computer's.

This was a concern, but battery tech is improving. My 1440p Note 4 has a ridiculous battery.

Will this be the best phone on the market when it releases? Im due for a new phone.

HTC's new phone is looking to be great. Hold off to see what they bring to the table.

Hoping for a metal frame.

Galaxy Alpha was a step in the right direction, but they also messed up the battery on that for some reason.

Alpha could have been a great competitor to the Z3 Compact, but 1860mAh....

Haha S6 edge, oh god help us. That and non-removable battery looks like a trainwreck waiting to happen. Can't get on this train with those kind of rumours.

I try to understand the need of this screen resolutions on a phone. But I can't.
Should focus on 3.k battery, full metal body and lightweight touchwiz.

I wonder how many many minutes of battery life it'll have? 30? 60 on standby? Sounds like the phone's not going to last that long without having to charge it constantly. I have an S5 and it barely lasts a day on normal use. I can't imagine a higher resolution screen and a faster CPU will last any longer. You'd think swappable batteries would be even more important than ever here.
