Developer 1: We need a cute mascot. How about a cat?
Developer 2: Ugh, that is so obvious and pandering. Can we PLEASE do something else?
Developer 1: Ok well we did dog and bear...
Developer 2: God... it's going to be a cat isn't it...

Think positively - they could have made 9 tailed fox :D

I'm not a fan of the direction the Persona series tookk, but that fucking TRAILER was OUT of this FUCKING world.

Holy fuck, if they gave us proper dungeons, I'm ALREADY DEAD.

I'm already talking to a dead person then. If you didn't notice in the trailer, my good zombie, the dungeon footage they showed didn't look random generated.

Hashino's comments in the short preview of the Famitsu interview makes it pretty clear where the game is going thematically I think. It's what a lot of people expected after the original tease when it was revealed. With Persona 5 he's interesting in a game about people challenging the status quo instead of just accepting social values and traditions as the way they are. A major focus in the game seems to be about there being a bad side to society, and delinquent highschool students will rise up against the things which are holding them down.

Y2Kev why don't you let me take some of your spirit? Just a bit?

Yes/No

The demon coos and asks for 50,000 yen.
>give yen
DuckRoll farts and runs away. It left behind an ANTIDOTE

Still better than a rabbit with every-bunny jokes.

I'm not even a Persona fan (saw my brother play 3 and 4 here and there, but never cared) and this still looks great to me.
I like the visual style and character design a lot.

Still probably not gonna play it, as the dungeon parts in 3 and 4 weren't my cup of tea.

A spectacular reveal. I can't wait. Glad to see that Catherine's visual style was sorta of a test to this. I really like what they've got going. I'll def get a PS4 alongside this game (assuming no whispers of a PC version comes up).

And forget the waifus. Where the husbando support?

They were very random and RNG based but I genuinely enjoyed the dialogue in every single SMT game I played.

Yep. The persona stories really do not relate to each other that much. Of course there are some minor references to the former persona games. If you have a chance, you should play Persona 3 FES or Persona 4.

Great! Thanks for the comment. Now I'm even more hyped about this!

She's actually annoying as all hell, and purposely takes on a weird accent.
Well, opinions and all. Interesting that she is somewhat divisive.
Ah, 2011.

And now we are here. Glad to be living.
Good thing I skipped most of the waiting game by becoming a fan last year.
No FFXV?

lol.

rewatching the 1:13 part makes me wonder again

we don't really actually SEE the characters up close during convos. like we see the 3d models yea, but this isn't like catherine where we ZOOM UP to their faces and have some sort of dynamic convo

this is exactly like p3 p4 where we see the big picture, and the the XRD 3d or the portrait cut ins actually show the face of characters - sometimes you only see their eyes, thats a bit… disappointing…

no text box during dialogue? wait what..?

Hey Duck does it say whether or not that footage was from the PS4 or PS3 version. It looked super clean so I am guessing PS4.

No, it doesn't. But honestly, this being a Japanese cross-gen game, I would expect both to look kinda similar, with the PS4 version having 1080p, better AA, and maybe 60fps.

Those were easily the worst parts of those games, but from the trailer it looks like they're at least improving the dungeons themselves. Hopefully they do the same for the battle system.

Man, I was absolutely blown away by the trailer. The graphics, the music, the style, I loved EVERYTHING about it! I initially thought Glasses-kun was kind of a loser, but boy am I wrong. Dude is freakin' badass.

I also absolutely love the new presentation for the All-Out Attacks. It's awesome and everybody looks so mischievous in their portraits.

If Persona 5 is released this summer I'm not even mad if I get laid out from my job. Work can wait until world is saved and compendium is 100% full.

Having never played any of the other persona games I must ask Is it like the telltell games? looks like an anime in which you move the story along. I'm interested just have no idea what the gameplay is like any other comparable games?

That would be incredible. I don't epactually expect it but man...

I will be preordering the most expensive CE available for the game. I was unlucky enough to start getting into Persona after 3 and 4 already released but with 5, I am going all out.

The story plays a large part however the game is a turn based RPG.

Naw, it's a full-fledged RPG set in modern Japan mixed with a bit of dating sim elements.

It's very unique though. P3 and particularly 4 are widely regarded as the best JRPGs of the past era.
