I would. This was the perfect time to do it if any. If they're this insistent on keeping him (not something I have an issue with), then they're probably keeping him for the long haul.
I just hope the Ultimax English VA for Igor is... temporary.
I wonder if igor will be a secret new game plus boss. I can't see the twins being as powerful as the last two sisters, but Igor might prove to be extremely powerful.
The one social link that goes up on its own doesn't happen until ~25% through the game, so it isn't an intro. It is for plot reasons. Actually, three links go up on their own from plot stuff. 3.5 if you do everything right.
Plot twist: the twins are Margaret and Elizabeth as kids.
That plot twist actually got me thinking. I think the twins don't have anything to do with Elizabeth, Margaret, or Theo. All three of them have yellow eyes like a Shadow character. The twins have purple. Just makes me wonder what's going on there. I'm assuming Elizabeth is still doing her thing about that certain thing (haven't played P4AU), but what about the others?

Unlikely. Monday, April 11th pertains to either 2011 (so simultaneously with Persona 4) or 2016. I don't see why they wouldn't do the time skip for this game when that's been the case for every main Persona game yet.
I hope that this time around, we get to know more about the Velvet Room and its world. Where do the rest of the attendants go when they are not in the room or the outside world?

Meh. I rather keep it a mystery. I don't think expounding upon the intricacies of the Velvet Room would be in any way useful and would just serve to eliminate the sense of wonder about the mystical connecting tissue between the Persona games.

I am just now wrapping up P4G (end of December), and have not yet played any other Persona game, so thank you for being courteous with the spoilers. I plan on making a LTTP when I finish, but for now I can say that SMTIV was so bad I almost didn't pick up P4G. I am glad I gave this series a second chance.
I was hoping P3 would get a "G" edition announced last week during the stream marathon. I don't like that all of my options for it have shortcomings.

I have no basis for this but I've always had this feeling that the answer to that question is a darker one than one would think. Like they're burning in hell or something. It's probably just me getting the wires crossed with mainline SMT.

We already have the answer for where Igor and his servants came from, though. And Persona 2 in particular did establish more of a backstory regarding the Velvet Room, with people like the Demon Painter and such, and it's nothing dark like that.
Okay, this trailer convinced me to give Persona a try. Which would be better to start with? Persona 3 is only $10 on PSN now. That's pretty tempting...

I'm not sure how this relates to my answer about social links, but the MC's personality varies in each Persona game. In P3 and P4 I think you could definitely say he's a hero, but in P5 I think they're going for a bit of the Robin Hood, gallant thief thing so he might be a bit more anti-hero.
On another note, I'm surprised to see such love for Igor! I never thought he was very interesting, perhaps because we know so little about him.
my bad I meant to type *is the character a hero or anti-hero. and the reason I was asking that is because I'm not exactly sure what a "persona" is. you mention demons of sorts so I had the feeling we would be playing as some sort of evil character or something.

I've played ME2. I'm just saying that developing higher social links is linked to unlocking some gameplay advantages.
I mean that its not designed to get all the social links in one playthrough while playing it blind. There are advantages in New Game + that give you more time to get the s. links done in the same timeframe.
That is what it boils down to, yes. There is a few endgame scenes that slightly vary based on the social links, but its nothing more than who shows up to give a quick comment at the time.
No, they introduce it to you in a different way. The character arc of the social link is directly progressed by the main events of the story, so they're connected.
My mistake. No protagonists from P1 to P4 would be considered anti-heroes.
I have to be honest, I'm losing y'all a little here. I appreciate the help but perhaps the game's too complex to explain since I've never played a game like this. I may have to just play it for myself to fully grip the understanding.

It really is not a complex thing to understand or anything like that. Despite the various systems, Persona 3 and 4 is pretty straight-forward and you'd be in the groove quickly.

protagonist don't speak?
and, I'm guessing what you're explaining is what happened in persona 3 or 4. and p5 will follow suit.

Sure. That's how I got into the series. Just fyi, Persona 3 FES does not let you control your party. You can only give them tactics like Conserve SP or Heal/Support.

It kind of follows the dictionary definition of persona, "the aspect of someone's character that is presented to or perceived by others". They are powerful psychic entities that are bound to you. I sometimes use "demon" because in the SMT series of games they use many of the same designs, but are demons there. In Persona, they are more like psychic entities. Usually the rest of your party only has one Persona to use, and sometimes these evolve as the person's mental outlook evolves. But the protagonist can use many Personas and switch between them during battle. In the case of the protagonist, they represent all the social links he has. For the other characters, they basically define the main personality of that person, or at least what that character shows outwardly.
If they were planning on getting rid of him, they wouldn't bring him back for this game. Since they are, they probably realize he's central to Persona, and he's not going away. They'll just move on without his VA.

I see a lot of confusing stuff on here, so this should clear things up. I figure a video can help.
The Protagonist is not voiced but you make the dialogue choices. For example, just look at these 10 seconds.
- Depending on your dialogue choices, the characters will respond differently.
- Sometimes, those choices will increase stats like Courage, Knowledge, etc. An example is the video I linked.
- These stats will sometimes give you access to Social Links (some people for example won't want to talk to you unless your Knowledge or Courage is high enough). Sometimes they will let you choose extra dialogue. For example, you can ask one of the female teammate's phone number straight out instead of saying it's for the investigation. Doing that will require higher Courage than you start with though.
- You increase S.Links by hanging out with people but when doing so, sometimes you're presented with dialogue choices. People will react better to some answers - you have to read their personality. If one's super serious, cracking a joke might not increase you S.Link with that person as fast as another choice that's a bit more serious.
- Despite some on here saying S. Links don't affect the story, there are S. Links that do. Like I said, there's a dungeon that you can only get if you maxed out a certain character's S. Link. There's even a very dark ending you can only get if you maxed out a certain character's S. Link. But most of the time, the S. Links are side-stories that will help gameplay wise but won't have impact on the main plot. They can be very interesting though. One made me legit tear up for the first time in a long time.
He's referencing another user who had a real hard time with a boss that sometimes uses Ice attacks. When we asked him to explain further, he told us he had equipped a Persona that was weak to Ice. Obviously, that doesn't help against an Ice boss. The way Persona works is that if you hit a weakness, you gain an extra attack instantly. So the boss would always get two turns because it would constantly hit his weakness. So basically, don't bring Phoenix (who's Weak to Ice) against an Ice-using boss.
Same reason the Velvet Room was a limo and an elevator.
It molds itself and selects its inhabitants based on the needs of the guest of the room. As for opposite gender in specific? Don't have a good answer for that one.

The choice is probably a product of P3P being a re-release. They have to account for folks that want to play as FeMC, but still have Lizzy around as a companion.

At least in terms of the Velvet Room, from the looks of it, the Persona 5 MC can't even stand the Velvet Room, so I doubt he would be happy to hang out with its' occupants.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking, too. Still, I'd like it if the feeling persisted, and he'd just be pissed every time he was called there or had to go there to fuse.
P5's clearly relatively popular. I'm actually surprised its video has more than Bloodborne's reveal trailer. I really want it to do awesome in terms of sales and recognition.
