She's still there.

EDIT: I just added eye makeup, lightened the lips and added an old hairstyle of hers.

Ha! (and people told me I was blind for suggesting she looked the same)

Thanks for the effort! People are so quick to suggest she had done SURGERY, but her face still has the exact same features. No eye-liner and the fact that you can barely see her eyelashes makes a huge difference. Also, the red lipstick is used in a way to make her lips look fuller, and the hairstyle is unlike what we are used to. Put everything together and she is almost unrecognisable.

Also, and most importantly, about this thread: we should stop criticising female artists appearance changes as they grow old. People are so quick to point out the wrinkles and the signs of age if they decide not to have surgery done or not undergo cosmetic treatments, but when they do have those they are also judged by them. There is no win. People grow old. You can't expect a woman to look like she is 20 for the rest of her life. And you can't expect her to disappear completely as she grows old, just because you can't handle seeing a wrinkle. These women don't exist to look pretty at all times so you can approve them. They have their own ambitions and their own goals and they deserve the right to grow old without the pressure of having to maintain a young look forever. Of course, some level of scrutiny is expected when you are famous and on the spotlight, but our expectations in regards to the matter are completely unachievable. Time to start appreciating the changes and learn that people are beautiful regardless of age. And instead of criticising an older woman just because she is getting old, maybe congratulate her for her achievements and for her hard work.

Bingo. Our collective reaction to natural aging has become so imbecilic, it defies logic. We have such unrealistically high expectations about the natural changes that occur to public figures as they age, it's insane. It's downright cruel and it has got to stop, lest we usher in more and more tragically disfigured people vying for our acceptance. We've got to make an effort to tone this shit down. Enough is enough. Embrace natural aging - celebrate it.

EDIT: I think I should add that the version of Uma on the left is still absolutely gorgeous, regardless of how we may not immediately recognize it as being her.

I don't see a problem in raising the issue of ageism and dysmorphia when it is believed another actor/actress undergoes a facelift. Calling into question an extreme new face shouldn't be painted with the same brush as someone simply gagging at how much older someone looks.

If I'm wrong about Uma's surgery, then I apologise for the unfair accusation.

Yeah, this doesn't look like Uma Thurman at all to me.

This is her current face with make-up applied:

It just isn't Uma's face. IMHO.

The lighting and eye makeup is so different in that shot, it's funny. It's hilarious. Seriously, you can't see those thick lines drawn under her eyes? Come on. That's called makeup - no one actually looks like that except for Nester Carbonell.

Nobody has been able to actually show any structural changes to her face, the kind that you could attribute to plastic surgery or even botox. And trust me, I've tried it myself. There is barely even a difference in the wrinkles in her face, despite how many years have passed between all the pics. The woman seriously has no issues aside from whoever is (or isn't) doing her makeup lately.

I just saw Uma on the Today Show and she looks the same as she always has. She looked nothing like the picture being posted. As others have said, it must've just been a weird combo of makeup and lighting.

Regarding the Stallone comparision pic that got posted here. Probably isn't really fair to post that particular one as that was taken right after Rambo 4 where he looked SUPER bloated. Bad steroid cycle or did he go for the bloated look in Rambo 4 I don't know, but he looks totally different now.

Also I have to agree with the comments on Matt Damon. He changed a lot from Bourne 1 to 2. In the first one he still has that very young look to him and suddenly in 2 he looks like way older, while I think there's only a few years between both films.

I still see a different Uma, no I'm sorry I can't explain it very well but it almost looks like the eyelids are different. I'm fine sounding crazy.

My joke was like a joke within a joke. I posted it because of the joke, knowing that people would comment because of how different and (equally pretty) they are.

I thought it was supposed to be a Star Wars joke, since Knightley played Portman's decoy in The Phantom Menace.

Is it me, or does it seem like the more work they have done, the more they look alike?

That seems to be my perception also. It's that "shiny" look. Almost uncanny valley-esque.

Also, why do people say Mark Hammil is "messed up"? There's a difference, but he looks largely the same to me. It reminds of how the Phantom in the movie version of Phantom of the Opera was like barely scarred, but everyone still made a big deal out of it.

Fuck dammit, Uma. Your face was going so well and now you do this.

Cancel Kill Bill 3. Shut it all down.

Maybe he hit what I like to call adult puberty? There's a point when all these young male actors suddenly get wider in the face without necessarily getting bulky or fat. It happened with Leonardo DiCaprio--I noticed it around the time of Blood Diamond, though it could have happened earlier.
It's pretty much the worst.

40 year old guy rant:

Some of you people are crazy. Jennifer Love Hewitt is hot. Scarlett Johannsen is hot. Diane Lane is hot. And Sylvester Stallone will always be cool as fuck.

Newsflash - people aren't always going to look their best for you and neither are you for them. Women can be a lot sexier unguarded and natural when you have that closeness to them.

Meg Ryan is a total tragedy though. I have to agree there.

just trying to gauge opinions...

but does anyone here think make-up is a form of deception or straight up lying?

Lol, no. Is going on NeoGAF and using something besides your actual name and a picture of you deception? Is wearing clothes deception? Is coloring your hair deception?

This is so annoying. Lol. Look at his stupid expression. I hate when people try hard to be "sympathetic".

"Look at me! I understand you. I'm one of the good guys. I wouldn't give you the time of day unless you look like Scarlett Johanson, but she's so beautiful she doesn't even need make up."
