Yeah in the case of Cyber Sleuth, even the importers would probably help the chances of it getting localized. Sad thing, is they will probably just toss it as a DD title like SAO, even though SAO hit numbers so big, that most boxed games don't even sell that number. I know it's the whole "take it or leave it" thing, but sometimes it's weird how they pick and chose some games that go boxed or not now.
Project Diva: yes, Yakuza 5, no
One Piece: yes, SAO: no.
>_> Makes no sense sometimes...
The first two movies are so good. It's too bad the American release makes you sit through Hurricane Touchdown after seeing Our War Game.
At least it makes Hurricane/Golden more sense. At least compared to the JP version. (though that isn't saying much)
And yes before anyone says it, it IS a pretty movie but it makes 0 sense lol.
edit: woops, double post
One Piece: Popular
Project Diva: Popular
SAO: Unknown (not all anime fans buy games) but it did good so it may get a physical with LS, we'll see.
Yakuza 5: The next bomba out of a bunch of bombas. Nuff said really.
it's non canon???Seraphimon and Magnadramon showing up out nowhere and the golden digimentals showing up too are so stupid and ass pully, I'm glad that piece of shit movie is non canon
I just rewatched it a few days ago (I've been marathoning through everything recently), and I have to disagree. Digimon Hurricane Touchdown!! Supreme Evolution!! The Golden Digimentals is actually a much better movie than I remembered, and I think it holds up pretty well. The direction is very solid, it has a wonderful soundtrack, and I think the story flows together fairly well. The movie also does a good job tying together the central theme of not being able to let go of the past. When I was younger I found it to be kind of a drag, but watching it again now I actually think it's pretty damn enjoyable, and there's not really much that doesn't make sense (aside from maybe why Wendimon bothered taking away the people on the train Takeru and Hikari were on).
It is her form thanks to the PSP gameHolydramon/Magnadramon is one of my favorite Digimon... it was a silly appearance though, and Orphanimon really should be the definitive Ultimate/Mega form of Tailmon/Gatomon. Still love the fluffy pink dragon! *stares at figure on my desk*

I'd actually say SAO is VERY popular in the west. I mean, it didn't quite get to Attack on Titan status (judging by the vast amount of groups of people I see cosplaying every con I go to since the anime aired), but it's still extremely big. When it first came out, people were freaking out about it, to the extent of the popularity Inuyasha was when it first hit western shores.
In the case of Project Diva, I still say it's fairly niche, even though Miku is super popular.
Are you sure it isn't canon?
Project Diva f (the first one) sold well and it got a physical release in Europe for the 2nd one (first was DD only) so I think that proves that it was popular enough.
Look at my post again as well, I said SAO is popular BUT it was an unknown at the time because not all anime fans (aka SAO fans) are gamers and would buy the game.
If every person who liked Digimon bought the games, there would be no issue in the west as an example.
SAO is now a known quantity (based on how long it was in the top vita charts) so I wouldn't be surprised to hear of a physical release for Lost Song.
Fladramon had his name romanized as Flaydramon (inconsistent from it's 02 series romanization during the evolution sequence)
Why were the Digidestined taken (who Wallace had never met) apart from the 02 kids and Takeru/Hikari.
Why were the people on the train taken apart from Takeru/Hikari and where did they go/end up?
Why could Patamon/Tailmon digivolve into their Ultimate/Mega forms? As if they could always do that (side note: They got beaten so easily)
How did the Golden Digimentals appear (and two of them, not just one this time)
Why the hell did Wallace speak in English to his mum (near the start with no one else around) then when the others were around, spoke in Japanese and then at the end when no one but him/Terriermon were around, he still spoke in Japanese
Ok yeah I get what you mean now and it is true. There is a strong connection with anime fans liking JRPG too, but not always.
And yeah, with close to half a million copies of the first one sold, I'll be VERY surprised if Lost Song isn't a physical title.

snip
Wallace had an old style digivice
Well, it doesn't tie in with 02's continuity at all, so I think it's fine to accept something like this in a non-canon movie. It's a bit weird, but I don't find that it's some sort of massive plot hole.
They were created by Seraphimon and Holydramon.
Because the film is still a Japanese film, and they probably wanted to limit how much the actor actually spoke in English, especially since all those scenes would need to be subtitled.
Forgive me if I remember this wrong, but isn't the only reason he knows Japanese because he had a Japanese girlfriend?
As if that would make you fluent, lol.
I'll forgive them since it's a Japanese film, though.
If it was canon, Seraphimon/Magnadramon would have appeared later in the 02 series >_>. Also if Ophanimon appears in tri, that's even more proof I say <_<
Nothing that happens in it is ever acknowledged outside of the movie (unlike the first two movies). And there is weird show contradicting stuff like a Digimon returning to egg form even in the real world. There has never been official word on it though.
On this bit, then why didn't he capture all the kids around the world who had digivices since the original series/our war game movies
The sub I watched never mentioned that (the dub did though) and they digivolved to their ultimate/mega forms to fight, not to create digimentals. (and if that happens to be the reason they are created, still doesn't make sense as to HOW they were created)
Maybe so but it's still inconsistent. Gotta admit that.
Not very sure on the "canocity" of it, but both Wizardmon and Tailmon show up in the Xros Wars manga and Wizardmon in particular ends up filling an important role in it.Oh speaking about Digimon returning to egg form in the real world.
You gotta wonder how Wizardmon became a ghost (and how Myotismon because a spirit that could inhabit a human but I'll leave that down to the "He's a dick" mentality...).
There was a number of Digimon killed in the real world we never see. But those two could survive somehow (though Wizardmon is now uhh.... away forever? after that reunion scene)
Screw the haters. Digimon movie made the 02 cast far more likeable plus it had Terriermon.
Indeed he did.
btw I love this discussion about everything apart from Tri mostly. It's almost turned into an unofficial community thread haha.

Yes, looking back at it now we can ask "what about the international chosen children", but they just didn't exist when the movie was written. It's the same reason the Dark Masters didn't just show up on File Island and kill the kids right at the start.

For this franchise, and I only consider Digimon Adventure (movie) and Our War Game to be canon. Digimon Adventure (movie) actually aired in Japan before the regular Adventure show. If that is not canon, what is?
Yeah I heard about that a while ago. Was surprised but it makes sense. It is defo a good movie as well. Love it. I also loved the dub version of it due to the music I'll admit.
Both versions are good.![]()
I wonder how they will deal with everyone has a digimon and everyone know about them.
Xros Wars is airing on Disney XD in March, so I guess that where Tri will eventually end up.
I still can't believe this is happening.
I'm thinking it's going to be like Hikari's vision at the end of 02, with everything being butterflies and rainbows. (I really hope it's not.)
Xros Wars moved to Disney XD?
Disney XD? Crap.
Sorry, it's on Nicktoons!

it didn't make davis any more likeable. at all.Screw the haters. Digimon movie made the 02 cast far more likeable plus it had Terriermon.
Oh, lol.
I hope Tri doesn't end up on Nicktoons. At least put it on the main channel.

I'm not sure it has the type of audience needed in the west to get onto the main channel.
so it's definitely still happening?
I thought someone said it was cancelled.
Fusion/Xros Wars started on the main channel, but got switched after a few weeks.
Maybe not, but they should at least try to push it. If there was ever a season of Digimon that could reignite interest, this is it.
Fusion? Yeah, it just got renewed.
Yeah, what exactly happened there? Surely ratings weren't that poor after two episodes?

Xros Wars started out pretty slow, but I found that the latter half of it picked up quite a bit and I wound up really enjoying it.
But then they botched it all with Hunters and its plotless garbage.
