PlayStation 4 hits 20.2 million units sold worldwide (high sodium content warning)

This thread is gonna get locked eventually. It just gets too crazy with these drive buys and the constant quoting and the "PC vs console" rhetoric every second.

The fact of the matter is, PS4 is selling, and why it is is up to the individual consumer who purchases. There are plenty of games on the unit that are being bought as shown by the actual software sales, and tons of great experiences to be had.

Is everything perfect about the PS4 to me? Of course not, but that doesn't change the fact, that its a damn good system, and Sony should be applauded for being successful.

The funny thing is, who cares? The only thing that matters is that is shows the console market is still healthy. Getting bent out of shape because console A is selling better then B or C is pointless.
 
Edit: Actually, I don't want to be seen like I was agreeing with the banned guy. I only mean throwing a fit over people's preferences is stupid.
 
I was going to say this may be the biggest melt down of the month then I realized we still have a Bloodborne review thread to go through and who knows what that could bring.

Nobody bats an eye if you play on consoles but if you talk literally trash without any facts or evidence it helps no one.

And instead lowering settings to medium on a very cheap pc to play it on 1080p/30fps why not go 900p/24fps on low settings without anastrophic filter/anti aliasing and expensive hardware you have to buy and os software which is useless besides a bit of gaming and streaming Netflix and Youtube.

How can people be salty over sales numbers? It's not like all of those people are holding stock of some company.
 
I always thought the PC master race people were humble gods who were good and though they admit their superiority, they still think well of the console plebians.

That pic shows exactly what is happening in China. I have been there twice and sadly, there is a huge disparity between the upper and lower class.

Anyway, I cant wait for Bloodborne review thread, it will certainly bring out another mountain of salt lol

PS4 would most likely be at 35 million sold through by the end of the year. Maybe more depending on whether the PS4 gets a price cut or not.

With this year's lineup, it's pretty easy for them to reach 35 millions without even do a price cut
 
Am I the only one legit confused at how people could get salty / upset at a gaming platform doing well in sales?

Like that is healthy for the industry, and guarantee's us future support for our hobby.

Last thing I would expect from a sales thread is a guy debating on PC vs PS4. My mind is literally blown. Is this even real life?
 
Over 20 million at $400 is pretty impressive. With the way they've designed the PS4 to be able to drop price when needed I don't think 100 million is out of the question. It'll be amazing if they're eventually able to get it down to around $120/$99. They've designed a great system with an awesome overall game line up, the sales are well deserved.

I'm not saying that. I also do have a game pc, but those are or real hardcore tournament games like LoL, or just unfinished games like Star Citizen. The rest are like indie titels of multiplatform games.

I'm looking forward to Star Citizen, but i wait till they announce it for the PS4. I've played a lot of DayZ in the past and can't wait to see it on the PS4.

It's not like both aren't doing well. PC gaming and experience is super strong and console is solid too.

The worse part is that their main arguement is that pc is better so why get a PS4. Surely these people dont believe these 20 million people soley game on PS4, hell i bet atleast a third also have x1.

well i'll be honest i was salty when the wii was doing great, it had generation old hardware compared to it's competition, and i hated the motion controls, i was worried it would kill my hobby, but the ps4 is the most powerful console by far this gen, so pc gamers should be happy. ps4 won't be holding pc games back, compared to something like the wii or wiiu would. games like the order, driveclub, shadowfall and second son, would easily be the best looking games on PC with more AA, higher resolution and 60fps.

Also PS4 gamer here, gave up my PC a while ago. Playstation is just more my thing, relax on the couch and shoot some people when you just got back from a long day at the office.

PC will always rule in therms of performance but it just cant win at being super relaxed casual so to speak.

Gratz Sony, keep it up you'll need it.
