Metal Gear Solid V Day one and Collectors editions announced

All y'all that are cryin, I'm sure Amazon will restock within the day, if not the week. Not to mention other retailers have yet to put up the CE. I don't think this thing will be all that limited.

All Metal Gear CEs have historically been limited, at least in the US. Even the HD Collection CE was impossible to get if you didn't preorder. It would be wise not to wait or take any chances with it.

Not so limited that every copy available sold out within the first hour it was posted on one retailers website.

I remember getting REALLY lucky with this one. I found one low traffic Gamestop in NYC, and they had one extra. That same Gamestop also helped me snag a Skyward Sword collector's edition and Xenoblade Chronicles (new) after that became rare too.

But we know the reason this time around.

preording a $99 CE of a game for a console i don't even own. nice.

that's me too..

but I plan on getting the console eventually, so no problem here, if that shiny MGSV PS4 releases, I'm going full for that one...
if I can buy it

Why? You could just wait until other retailers make it available.

I don't know if I'll make it in time for those either. At least I'm sure to get the arm and trailer blu-ray now. I just hope it's a regular blu-ray disc and not a Xbox One disc.

I feel there is a greater urgency this time round because it is apparently Kojima's last MGS game (Yes he always says that but he has pretty much caught up to Metal Gear chronologically) so you won't be able to enjoy another launch experience for an MGS game in the future.

That's very true, and even if Kojima does make another Metal Gear it won't be for a long, long time.

Really bummed that I missed out on the Amazon pre-order. I hope it goes up again. I normally don't care for CEs, but this...is Metal Gear.

I really, really,
really!
doubt that.. not only kojima has been pointing out for a remake of the original 2, but also he never said this was HIS last MG, just the last one from the Solid saga..

what I expect is a new Metal Gear Saga, not Solid, that takes place later

konami only gets to milk this cash cow once every few years they'll be stupid to leave all that demand hanging especially the margin they make on these arms that cost a couple bucks to make and sell for forty. as we all know preorders also gauge demand, they must restock.

Well if you wanna get technical, Solid's saga DID end with MGS4.
Solid Snake is dead
. MGSV will likely fill in the hole in the whole saga and end where Metal Gear begins. There's literally nowhere else for this series to go, besides remakes and re-releases.

The Boss game.

Is that something we really need? She's a good character, but I just don't see the purpose or great interest.

Not saying it should happen but it would at least give us a different era to work with, which seems to be one of the big drivers for these types of games.

I get that, my point is do we need the series to keep going? Why can't we just let it go? I was a bit reluctant to accept yet another Metal Gear Solid game in the first place, especially after MGS4's dramatic and warts-and-all story that tied up events of the past 20 years. But seeing as it will complete the entire timeline - I have definitely warmed to it and personally consider it the biggest gaming event since the release of MGS4.

The Boss game.

THIS...

I totally forgot that Kojima once tried to make one The Boss game, may be the team is now more mature to take on this and try to make it real now...

and while the Solid saga end on MGS4, I'm not talking about chronologically, I'm talking about game releases, and kojima kinda said that this was the last one released for the Solid saga..

may be The Boss game will take part in a different saga.. or a stand alone game.. or kojima will just say fuck it and do another one from the Solid Saga

Anyone know if it went up at BB or Gamestop?

I fear not getting it now due to capitalism in the U.S.Well if any kind soul got a spare and and wants to sell please consider me.
