Final Fantasy XV Demo Previews/Impressions Thread

I'm thinking this too! At first I thought he could be Regis' bro, but when you see this guy's face paired up with Gladiolus, they definitely look like they could be related. And, it wouldn't be an "out there" idea, considering Gladiolus's family has a history of protecting the royals of Lucis.

That being said, I kinda wonder if Gladio's dad has a similar relationship to Regis as Gladio does to Noctis. That whole thing(and the possiblity) intrigues me, the bonds of brotherhood. I wonder if they plan on drawing parallels between certain characters. Remember, they liken the royalty to the yakuza/mafia, and family and loyalty is big within the mafia(well, within royalty too). It's why I'm interested in the other royal families. I can see something interesting being played out with friendship, loyalty, the bonds of not only "brothers" or lovers, but bonds that connect through generations. There's some interesting shit in there.
Yeah man, I love that brotherhood, loyalty stuff, too. Really looking forward to see more of all those unknown characters. We basically still know so little story-wise, even after 9 years. It's exciting to think about the possibilities, but well... we all know SE doesn't exactly have any competent writers (FFXIV's writing supposedly is good, though, no?), so we should probably keep our expectations low on that front.

For real though the Roen clothing designs are pretty terrible and the "high fashion" clashes strongly with the environment. You can't even logically justify it with the unexpected nature of the journey unless you expect me to believe that a change of clothes is completely out of the question in all the numerous stops they make on the way. Not that logic should play a role in this- it's guys killing giant monsters with swords bigger than they are after all. I just think the clothing itself is repulsive.

Character designs are fine otherwise, though.

Here's the thing.

I get the feeling that the current clothing that the party wears were designed with the modern environment (Lucis mainly) in mind. There, everyone really fits in well with the locale and the people along with what they wear. However you steps out of Lucis into the more fantasy setting, it becomes jarring.

See, I'm one of those who don't mind the concept of a unifying black leather clothing for all party members especially given their origin and story purpose, I still want some variety to look at. Which is why it would mean a lot to be able to change into different costumes and thus different outlook by unlocking special cosmetic outfits, ala Tales series. After all, we will be seeing these guys a lot, and always seeing them in the same clothes and worse still, always in the same colour between them all can be quite mundane, and not to mention clashes with the fantasy element outside of Lucis.

Ideally, there will be around 7 or 8 different outfits that can be put on Noctis and co, more are welcomed.

1. Default (what they're wearing now)
2. Nomura's original design, director's cut (zing!) (almost the same as default, but with slightly more variation in design and with some white colour added)
3. Casual wear #1 (different colours, simple shirt, jeans or short pants)
4. Casual wear #2 (same as above, but different design)
5. Formal wear (formal, suit and ties, for those who are classy)
6. Winter wear (self explanatory)
7. Fantasy wear #1 (medieval armor, designed by Akihiko Yoshida)
8. Fantasy wear #2 (same as above, but different design)

Here's my impressions from playing the game yesterday. USgamer.

Short of it, open-world game with combat that's somewhat like Kingdom Hearts. Visually, it looks good, but the PS3 lineage shows through occasionally and there were framerate hiccups and tons of aliasing.
Heh, this is what I have been anticipating since 2006. FF/KH hybrid with more emphasis on open world/exploration.

Agreed would be cool if Tabata confirmed that, just have roen design it and add more color.

Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae |OT| FF as FF should be.

Oh boy.. That's gonna cause quite a stir lol
for some

I still can't believe the complaints regarding the graphics of a demo. Especially one that's not even utilizing the full engine. GG...

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae |OT| Still in dev, not stella yet

So is Ground Zeroes
(I love GZ, please don't kill me.)

My argument is that Ground Zeroes is not a Phantom Pain demo because it's not from a part of Phantom Pain but rather its own entity. It was made to set up Phantom Pain and has its own story, content, trophies, etc. I see it as a small game, not a demo. Duscae sounds big but it supposedly takes place at some point during FFXV proper though some things will obviously change, pending development.

I just think that a demo of something is a sample of a product. Ground Zeroes is its own product. Now if you want to argue the price they charged for it, that's a different story.

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae |OT| It's Gratia Mundi. Don't tell Falk.

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae |OT| What? You thought it'd be done?

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae |OT| Now with 100% less Lightning.

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae |OT| We're... going straight into the deep end.

Final Fantasy XV: Episode Duscae |OT| It's still Gratia Mundi. Don't be hatin', Falk.
