Bloodborne PSN Pre-Load has started

I'd rather look at the opinion of my peers, or in this case people on Neogaf before I wait for a review by some guy who might not even have the same taste in games like I do.

I succumbed and watched the early game on stream for a while last night. I think the game is going to live up to everything. it's so incredible.

Whether it be professional reviewers or fellow GAF members, I feel like there's nothing anyone could tell me in a review that I don't already know from watching these streams. I've seen how the game looks and how it plays, and I'm in.

I think this game will review well but I see what you mean. It's definitely targeted to a certain audience.

So, is there going to be a "Bloodborne discoveries" topic (or something similar)?

I feel like this is the next true Souls game... everyone knew what they were getting into with Dark Souls 2 moreso than Demon's->Dark, this seems like an even larger step into a new world from either of the Dark Souls not to mention Demon's. It'd be fun to uncover things live...

Work being so slow getting cut to 3 days a week sure sucks, but when one of those days happens to be the Bloodborne release date suddenly things don't suck so bad!

If it wasnt for the Art Book and Soundtrack, I would be all over this preload. Gah, this is a game I feel is not leaving my PS4 for a long time and digital would have been way better, but artbook and soundtrack...

528 page hardcover Collector's Edition guide for me and I will find a way to get that soundtrack. I had CE pre-orderered but after I saw how puny the art book was in an unboxing video I cancelled.

It's good to hear that. I didn't want to watch the streams but I'll gladly read general impressions from people who watched streams.

I had my finger right on a link but stopped myself, lol.

Never played Souls but pre ordered this. Would that beautiful hardcover guide be a good investment to learn the game's mechanics?

Why does anyone care about the "official reviews"?

The streams going on right now show how awesome the game is. And we haven't even seen the PvP or Co-op stuff.

Alright, just posting what it said :P I knew game was larger than 5GB though. I find it pretty irritating and convoluted how the PS4 tracks your download status, based on the things you've said (ran into this annoyance while playing DA: Inquisition, preventing me from progressing further)

Well, I mean, the whole point is you get to start playing the game after only ~5 gig downloaded. If you want a way to play the entire game without the possibility of hitting the wall and not progressing further... you'd need to download the entire game before you started. PS4's solution is absolutely fantastic and is damn cool tech. Spinning it into a negative because you still need to dl stuff after you can start playing seems rather silly to me.

Preloading now...not long from now will be the start of my thousands of in-game deaths

I'm close to doing this but the GCU discount is too much to pass up.

If I would have had any type of discount or anything I would have kept it but with having to pay full price I decided the price difference wasn't worth it

I don't have work on Wednesday, looks like the planets aligned.

call in sick on tuesday.

I couldn't care less. Most reviewers are idiotic, (see Alien Isolation) and even the ones that aren't idiotic I may not agree with.

A review, or the sum of reviews, may be useful to help identify if a game is absolute trash or not (and even then they're not always right, some games get panned hard critically but are actually good -- see nier), but beyond that I don't think they have any actual utility.

Pre-loaded, have Tuesday off from work, cannot fucking WAIT.

It feels like Christmas eve when I was a kid...
Same here. I'll be starting at 9 pm tomorrow the moment that bad boy unlocks. Only shifty thing is I have to work all day tomorrow and it's gonna be a long day.
