Nah, I don't feel like I really have him down. That was all luck and pumping consumables. I used every last resource I had, and now I'm in a situation where I can't even re-attempt the boss until I go fight dudes and stock back up on blood vials. And I just died and lost my blood echoes that I dropped in that fight. Good times.

At least I can level up now.
 
ho boy, frustration is kicking in. but so far quite enjoyable little game! need to look up how those weapon transformations/attacks work, so far only using R1. *shrugs*
 
Okay so has anyone in EU pre-loaded the game? I guess EU is asleep/or at work currently.
 
Death load times are pretty long, it's shitty. Not enough to quit playing, but, it sucks. Also, god do I miss sword n' board.

EDIT: How do the blood stains work? Sometimes they're just sitting out, sometimes I'll kill a dude with glowing eyes and get them back.

The AI is really weird in this game. Cheesed the first two
werewolves
by leading them by the "shortcut" to the sewers and making them fall down, fuck that. And the two guys by the shortcut have an extremely short tether, so you can take pot shots and stand two feet outside of it and it'll work fine.

i want her clothes as well pretty badly... I really want to be a plague doctor, LOL.

I don't understand this. I never faced a boss yet and I've leveled up just fine. All I did was go a ways through Yharnam, unlocked a handful of shotcuts back to the lantern and then she was awake.
Unless the
very first werewolf you kill, or the double werewolf patrol
is supposed to be a boss?
 
Whew, I will resume the hunt tomorrow. The Cleric Beast is wrecking me like I am not shit. I got the parry on him down, but I am going to level up first before I attempt him again, as I have not done so yet. I am going to fortify my cane as well, beings I found some blood shards.

This game is no fucking joke and is easily harder than Dark Souls. As you have no defense and the quick step does not always work out for you when getting ganged up on, which is a regular thing. Especially from behind.

All in all, it is amazing, but brutal. It's like a Souls game, but it's not and will make even a vet feel like a babe at times.

I can! After you kill the Raven Hunter, you can purchase all her gear at the bath messenger! If you do it as early as I did, you presumably miss out on any future encounters with her though, and the gear is expensive as hell for an early level.
 
This fucking game. So damn good. Just beat the Cleric Beast. Loved how the mobs around and before the boss give you just enough blood vials to be able to clear him.

Managed to take him down by popping 5. Super satisfying. Still haven't gotten used to the combat changes but man, the game is just so damn good. Loading hasn't annoyed me yet. Beautiful game too!

Time to head to sleep. 3 hours and one boss down. Feels good.
 
Watching these streams the loading times are pretty brutal, and the frame rate isn't too solid. Hopefully this is something they'll fix with a patch. I can't imagine what it's like to play though.

Well I'll be damned. I went back to the boss using the shortcuts I opened up and my blood echoes were in a puddle on the ground in the boss' area so I got them back. Then I amazed myself and killed the boss. Success!

The same just happened to me before I called it a night. She all of the sudden was awake after I unlocked that shortcut to the Cleric Beast and got mauled by him the first time.
 
Got to the
2nd boss and thought I was really doing well. I had 6k Echo and I'm not even taking a chance and I get down to 20% health left and die

You can't get too much of an ego.

Beautiful? I like the world design, but I wouldn't exactly call it beautiful due to the shit above. It's hard to play for more than an hour or so before it feels like my vision is going bad.
 
Gonna look for that short cut tomorrow after work. This is the first game in a long time that I've had to pry myself from because I need to sleep. Hard as fuck but damn good.
 
Whoever said the game barely hits 30 fps was right. At least in the beginning section. Wow, the performance gets really bad. Bleh. Enjoying the game though so far, but the control scheme is going to take awhile to get used to.

Don't worry about it, bruh. You only have to beat the first boss, and if you die, well, hope you get back to him and manage to grab your echoes (on the ground at his feet). Oh, and you have to kill him before you can use them, unless you want to just give them up and level up on the trash mobs for a while. Good luck! :D
 
If you die and you shut the game off does the enemy keep your echo saved? Like since I died, if I go to bed, will the enemy that killed me keep my Souls. Weird question, but ???
