Bloodborne |OT2| Praise The Moon

After 4th boss/
During the nighttime phase where the moon is out.
I just revisited
the place where I fought Father G. and was attacked by a hunter. Thought that was strange and fought him but then a second hunter came and attacked me too so I ran. What's the deal with those guys?

One should be Eileen the Crow. If you didn't meet her in the sewers before hand then maybe she did attack you. I met her before that event, though, and was able to help her kill the hunter. I'm not sure what happens next in her quest line but apparently you can eventually get her armor.

So I'm fairly late in the game I think, and I don't know what to do next. I've beaten
Cleric Beast, Father G, BSB, Emilia, The Witch, Shadows of Yharnam, and Rom. I went through the Unseen Village and made it to the Hypogean place (where my lamp doesn't work now, great.) For some reason I feel like there's a big area I missed. I'm getting killed in 1-2 hits in there, and my hits are barely denting the enemies. Is it supposed to be like that and I've just been babied all through the game?

Shareplay watching is amazing for this game. In 2 hours with me helping him on the mic I turned my brother from someone that couldn't beat that first pack of 5 enemies into someone that found the shortcut and bested Cleric Beast on his own during his 3rd attempt. I'm so proud :D

Where is she there? I've only seen her at the cathedral.

Two questions;

I've read there's a gear set that becomes available for purchase (using Insight) after defeating Father Gascoigne, but I'm not seeing it. Is there anything else I need to do?

In Old Yharnam, is it worth trying to beat the NPC Hunter? - not the gatling gunner all the way up the tower, but the other one on ground level right near the ladder to go up there. Is the drop worthwhile? He's kicking my ass!

Thanks!

Same spot as you! I feel like I'm not ready for that area yet...

There's also no guides to refer to now that cover the areas we are on now.

If any of you thought "This game needs more bullshit traps", know that Chalice Dungeons have plenty. I just took 800 damage from a guillotine.

So what's the secret to stunning Ame
lia, I was only able to do it once per battle. Do we really need the numbing mist? I feel like they wouldn't make us rely on an item to kill this. I killed it, but this is still on my mind.

edit crap I'm sorry.

Okay, Rom. You win for the night. Not in the mood to go farm for blood vials... again.

It's times like these that I wish I had the bonfire and estus flask system. I have to give Dark Souls the nod on that one. Don't make me fucking leave and then come back over and over on bosses that can kill you in one shot. The game is fantastic, but that particular aspect is just plain stupid. It's hard and tedious enough as it is.

Interesting. Hmm not sure then. We are talking about the hunter with the long beak mask right?
Yep. I dunno what the deal is, but it's a bummer. I think it may be because I opened that gate with the lever instead of using the hunter badge earlier.

Now I think I'm fucked.

How do you do that anyways? I bought the emblem and I heard you could of gone to it without it but I never found an optional path.
It's just later on you find a way around. Really don't see the point of it. The enemies are too tough in the beginning anyway.

No, if you killed Rom, you are at the right spot. There's a few optional areas/boss you can do though.

Are people using either the saw or rifle spear? Looking for some impressions from those that upgraded them. Personally I really like the rifle spear in order to take down some of the big enemies at range.

Ok so Hunter Chief emblem is literally useless if you just open the gate from the other side :/

It becomes useless then, but if you use it to access the area before going to Old Yarnam first, you can get the Black Church Set and then not have the Gatlin Gun NPC aggro you.

Fourth boss spoilers

Went my first go around with Amelia. Some real bs going on here with the tracking on her jump (changing directions in midair). Also seems like the gun doesn't work at all against her, making parry's not really an option for this fight and a two handed weapon better. She's very different from the first three bosses. In fact she seems more like an old school souls boss than any of the other ones.

You can stun her, but not with the gun.
Try attacking different parts of her body. If you hit her legs a few times, she'll fall down and you can do the parry follow-up stab on her head. It makes the battle much easier.

Nah I was just freaking out, I saw another hunter running so I assumed it was going for me. But yeah I've talked to her before in that hidden location on top of the sewers. Going to go back and help her with the fight, thanks.

What level were you at that point just out of curiosity sake?

I forgot hehe.

Damn. So is every enemy in there is supposed to bascially have the damage capacity and output of a boss? Or is my character just underlevelled?

Did you get teleported in front of the Unseen Village after talking to the NPC that appears there after killing Rom ? And gotten another lamp, not the "gaol something" one

since there's no level cap (right?), I wonder what the decided "pvp level" will be...

Can't wait for the Angry Joe review for this game.

I feel like Angry Joe will call the game out for having weak loot -- rarely getting new weapons, lack of builds, that kinda thing most reviewers glossed over I think AJ will probably address.

Wow! Just had an amazing moment. I had no idea that you could be summoned after somebody was already in a boss fight. I got summoned into a world outside of the Father G area, and saw that the host was already fighting him. I rushed in as fast as possible and managed to save the host from being killed at the last moment.

Hmm. Why is it that my Ludwig's Holy Blade +5 (150 atk w/ +53) does same damage to the big guys with the canes outside the Cathedral Ward as my Saw Cleaver +3 (117 atk w/ +22).

I forgot hehe.

I was
teleported to wherever that woman brings you after Rom, yeah. I went through a few buildings, past the laser monster and found a lamp right in the doorway beneath him. I then go outside, take a short path, and go into where the "gaol something" lamp was. The enemies up to that point are easy, and then I go into that area and it's like everyone is a boss character.

fourth boss spoilers

Really? Healing? You know you've made a boss fight too easy when you have to artificially make it harder by making it take longer because the boss is able to heal whenever they want and you can't stop them. And the boss only "sometimes" getting stunned after a big hit is complete bs. Oh well, guess this game isn't perfect, as much as I liked the first three bosses.

There's an optional boss down there, at least i think he's optional, and the story one is more in the upper parts

Did you check it's durability? maybe it needs repair? Either that or check the runes you have attached on the other weapon.

Are you using thrusts/blunt attacks on one compared to the other?

Enemies can take slightly more damage from one compared to the other. There's no "slash" in this game so I assume "blunt" covers everything that isn't thrust.

Figuring that out, but its still a pretty awful fight. Easily the worst by far.

Need some quick help and suggestions. Also SPOILERS for anyone not past Byrgenwerth!!
So I just fought Rom right now and almost beat him on my first attempt (asshole had just a sliver left, I was soooo pissed) and someone mentioned to me that things change overall after I beat him. I was wondering if I should finish off other area first or not before attempting to kill Rom? Like I haven't investigated whatever is at the very bottom of the Healing Church Workshop pit. Should I do that before killing Rom, or should I just teach this asshole spider a lessoN?
