So I finally unlocked Ludwig's GS, and I'm really tempted to buy it. I've heard good things about it, but the problem is I was originally going the strength route. Honestly I'm not too happy with my kirkhammer, even at +4.

Is it worth it to try and make a quality build with Ludwig's? I know it's already too late for an Arcane build...

My current stats at lvl 27 are:
Vit: 15
End: 15
Str: 25
Skl: 10
Blood: 6
Arc: 7

does he activate as so as i walk under him or can i get to a not-bonfire?

you don't fight it there, you fight it in a really long hallway with lots of pillars, later on, looks like a boss room. There's also no bonfires after the old yharnem one, there are however shortcuts you can find.

Later on the path you should encounter a werewolf bursting out of a door. Inside there all the way up the stairs is a door that opens a short cut. From the outside of the lantern of old yharnem straight off the roof there should be that door.

That's usually the way with bosses. Some people have an easy time, others a hard time. Tried to make my strategy large so there's no "gaps" in the process I went though (hate reading a guide where something isn't adequately explained), but everyone's mileage will vary. Shit you not,
Rom
was the hardest boss for me. Different challenges for different people :
Amelia is the hardest for me so far, so I feel you.

You are still perfectly on track for a quality build. Also, your best bet right now is to start pumping End more, it is pretty much the most worthwhile stat in the game.

Even if you don't want a quality build, you can go quite far with the LHB and just STR. However, if you don't like the Kirkhammer, I wonder how much you'll like LHB. It is pretty similar outside of not being blunt damage. The regular sword is quite the same and the heavy sword is just as heavy and slow to swing. Different arcs of course and slightly better range, but still.

Overall though I love it as a weapon, and you get a LOT of attack power out of pumping STR and SKL to 25

I finished the boss at the end of the third layer of my Chalice Dungeon (first depth), but I didn't receive any reward or any notification. I can't go any further from the lamp, am I done here?

Quote for a new page. Have no idea if I should erase my chalice dungeon or not.

Boo! No wonder it is easy for you, then. :( I mean, don't get me wrong...my cane is far from dinky. But I'd never be able to stagger him with it.

I tried a bit with the cane and just don't get it. Its funny too because in every other Souls game I was all about them hot Dex weapons. In this game i'm all about that STR

I don't know if I can ever take
off the crown of illusion... not because it's good but I feel like I might miss out in hidden stuff without it.

Thanks for the response!

I'm really torn on the Kirkhammer. It's great for normal enemies, but has been rather poor for the speedy bosses/hunters. I can't even seem to get any sort of combo in without being interrupted. I'm hoping that the LHB is at least a bit faster and maybe has a wider arc in case I miss a direct hit.

This game is taking a toll on me mentally. Some of the stuff I've seen tonight... it's creeping me out. Didn't freak me out when I was playing, but now that I'm lying in bed thinking about it...

You're really making me itch to get back to it. Working at the moment.

I cant use my beckoning bell, its blacked out wherever i go and i have insight. Why?

Is there still a boss in the area you're in?

At any point should you stop and grind to level up? I'm just be Vicar Amelia who was a bitch but figured out her timing. I'm only level 30 so im wondering if I should just help grind for BE. What say you GAF?

NG+ at level 62... yeah

I just beat the cleric beast because he glitched standing relatively still and doing his little hand swipe over and over again. Praise the gods for that

I only did slivers of damage

I had a nightmare my first night playing this game.

Just beat the game at under 90 level, around 30 hours (beat all the optional bosses though).

Big post incoming about my impressions but don't worry guys it's all good...

Now on to Chalices!

thank you! got that shortcut back

dude

im at:

30 vitality
35 endurance
12 strength
25 skill
10 bloodtinge
8 arcane

im so tempted to put 30 into strength now that i got that cannon, thing looks so awesome

is anyone else using it?

is it as fun as it looks?

HOLEEEEEEY SHIEEEEET I just had the most intense boss battle EVER. Right as its health was about 10%, i had my health about 50% and kept trying to heal before i noticed I WAS OUT OF VIALS FROM ALL THE FAILS EARLIER. This fucker has some insane attacks that are really hard to dodge, but i quickly check my inventory, thankfully had another healing item! Didn't matter though, I found my inner badass, pulled out my holy blade, and finished things. My heart started fluttering at the end lol.

The boss was
amygdala
or however its spelled.

I need to set my youtube up with my PS4 so i can start uploading these encounters.

It hits for like 700 and auto-kncokdowns. Even most bosses.

Ugh, I may have made a mistake in the super end-game.

I was told to refuse the offer so that I could fight the guy and get his scythe. But FUCK ME of course now is the time that I run out of bullets for the first time ever in the entire game. I used the convert health to bullet thing and that leaves me with enough to do all the easy counters and get him to below half health.

But them he's counter proof. And he can stagger-lock me into three guaranteed hits that take off 90% of my health. How are you meant to fight this guy?

20 hours to beat everything apart from three optional bosses. No chalice dungeons done either. I'm sure that'll increase my playtime a fair bit once I can finally beat this final boss... On the plus side, the one before it has one of the coolest visual designs of any boss I've ever seen. Shame that the fight is a complete cake walk that didn't even cost me a single vial.
