Halo 5 Guardians: #huntthetruth

First main Halo game were Master Chiefs armour is the same as the previous game? They've always made some changes to his suit for every main Halo game, but the one in H5 seems to be the same as in H4.

For how long? Looking at the damage he's taken in these trailers (if he survives) I expect we'll see new armor or an alternative by the end of the game.

Listening to the Audio logs now... that's some good shit. I hope the people who never read the books are listening, it's explaining the backstory in a phenomenal way.

I bought a few of the books, but never read them. These, on the other hand, seem a lot easier to get into. I like 'em so far, hopefully they continue to be good.

I am going to say no because that would not make sense when considering the cinematic that was in the MCC. Why would Arbiter help Locke find chief just to save him or save chief and then later help Locke find him?

Maybe there is some weird scenario in which either could work, but it seems unlikely to me.

Because I want this to happen :(

Dunno. Maybe he didn't think things would get this far, or could be something unrelated like both of them trying to find chief on different paths.

I want it to happen too, Arbiter is a complete and total badass and has been since he was introduced. I'd love for him to drop in and just deck Locke.

I've never seen anything do that kind of damage to Mjolnir armor in games/live/cgi format before. We've seen some of the armor take some big hits in the books and comics, but this is something else... and to the chief!

It may be some sort of new high frequency weapon. A resonating frequency is the only thing I can think of other than high heat and then freezing that would cause cracks in such a solid mass like that.

IDK, looked close to me, and even if it is not a direct hit, it still could cause damage to it, or hit a major artery.

The heart is more in the middle of your chest. It sits slightly to the left in the cardiac notch of the left lung, you'd have to roll on your side to make it go more left. Where Chief got shot looks like the shoulder, there's a nerve bundle there and the subclavian artery. So nowhere near his heart in other words.

Well, he doesn't seem exactly thrilled to help either.

I'm guessing you are a doctor of sorts.

The new hunt the truth episode talks about John trying to sign up for his schools boxing thing at 12...Wasn't he kidnapped at 6 or 7? In fact by 14 the spartans were already very lethal.
All kidnapped children were replaced with a clone. Haven't listen to the new audio clip but it sounds like his clone.

I know you know this, but (backstory and probably audio log spoiler):
That's not the Chief. That's the flash clone they replaced him with. The parents never found out that their children were kidnapped, they just seemed to drop dead from various maladies at fairly young ages.

I think they're 'suggesting' that it could be his clone doing all that? But didn't the clone they replaced him with only survive for a short amount of time? I'm sure the flash clones used in the Spartan-II program all died natural yet quick deaths after been swapped.

Maybe they're retconning it?
He was born in 2511 and at the end of the audio it says the death record was in 2517 (age of 6 aka when he was abducted) so I think they're saying his flash-clone survived longer than we thought?

It's confirmed at this point:

Darth Halsey: Lord Chiefy... RISE

It makes too much sense now. John joins the bloody Covies.

Yeah, that was weird; IIRC, the flash clones were expect to live for around 7 years or so.

Weird strange random crazy man time:

What if his flash clone didn't die like the others?

That's what it's sounding like. He (the clone) was clearly doing well in 6th grade, which is around when he was supposed to be dropping dead, but the death record had him dying much, much earlier... hnhh.

Just listened to the second episode of the audio logs at HuntTheTruth.com and, I have to say, the early marketing push for this game is masterfully executed. Hoping MS can keep it up leading up to the game's release. Only thing I'm missing now are the ViDocs.

SECOND TRAILER WAS HYPE MENDICANT BIASSSSS

I knew it! HYPE!!!!

It's not a problem at all. I've certainly had enough time to read the lore so it's my fault. Anyway, finding out like this just after hearing the audio clip makes it that much more ominous.

Yeah, the whole thing is just super fucked up. One of my favorite bits of the lore, and looking forward to the interviewer going over it. Gonna be great (and freaky).

More crazy man time:

I wonder what happens to a genesong when someone gets cloned?

Actually, they are fabricated stories.
