Xenoblade Chronicles X: April 10th Doll Presentation [up: video with subtitles]

The game looks really interesting and looks fun to explore, but I'm really terrible at these action games (Monster Hunter goes over my head, for example). It gave me MH vibes. Is Xenoblade anything like MH?

Also I watched most of the stream (but not all) and understood most of it so if anyone has a question, I'll try to answer it.

Mech looks cool.

Now the amount of gigantic enemies totally makes sense. And also cool to see that you fight the giant flying enemies in the air instead of bringing them to the ground.

This video reignited my hype to levels I haven't felt since the original trailer with the flying mech.

All looks fucking incredible!

Looks really good. The online stuff is made to be completely optional but still fit within the logic of the game world. A lot of social stuff, basically a mix of Dragon's Dogma's pawns, Demon's Souls messages and covenants, and PSO style multiplayer questing. What really impressed me is how substantial the Doll system is. Takahashi finally got to make a "real" mecha RPG! :D :D :D

I won't pretend to understand much of what said, but they did bring up a keyboard for chat at one point, so it's quite concievable that that's the only communication method.

Yeah that's what I figured. No complaints, it's better than nothing. Just seems like this game would be even more stellar with sweet team coordination.

What did they explain/show for the online features?

Seems to be a Guild/Squad focus. Being able to engage in Squad Quests that have "Kill X number of monsters" style objectives. Seems to be people can Squad up and achieve objectives in different zones and they all contribute. Also showed what looked like searching online for Hunters to join up with online.

Also showed several named factions which probably dictates quests, weapons, Dolls etc.

Can't wait to make one that looks like Neo Zeong so I can be all like this when I overclock.

Best music as well, right? :3

The scale of this game is just enormous in every way.

The online looks like fun and I hope I will get to play with a lot of fellow gaffers.

The mechs are just incredible. Could someone gif the doll aerial fight inside a volcano against some lava-looking monsters?

I'm hoping for some Xenogears/Xenosaga mechs skins :)

All this info makes your head want to explode into confetti. I love the customization options for the mechs and the online co-op missions are a nice addition. Yeah, the music is probably going to be a mixed bag. English rap and J-pop music consisting of nonsensical lyrics are cheesy. Some strange choices there, Sawano. Give us more atmospheric environmental music feels.

Still wrapping my head around all the stuff you can do in this game, could even be a lot more since Nintendo is the type to hold info close to their chest.

This game.

Holy fuck.

This game.

I am picking up Xenoblade 3DS this morning but it feels so small compared to this.

Is it April 29th yet? I need to learn Japanese though.

I never imagined that the Mecha will have so much depth !
Lot of dev willl have just made a skin and that it but no that game give different type of mecha with weapons.
Omg that shield they showed.

I'll be leaving my NNID in the future Import OT so we can make a squad.
I hope we'll be quite a few in it.

Really cool mechanics, but I feel like there's maybe too much now haha.
I really need to play it in order to really understand how everything in this game works.

18 days (and 20 minutes?) left!

Nice, the factions are probably the unions they mentioned previously. So people can play online in different zones and together?

Ye, fuel management, repairs, damage to specific parts, transformation, customization, completely different attacks, etc.

hahahaha it's been a while :D

Sorry this is nothing against you, it's just this "is it like MH?" has become sort of a meme ever since this game got announced. And no, it is absolutely nothing at all like MH.

Monolith Soft is really going all out with this game. I hope the Xenoblade series goes on to be really great. It's really cool seeing the beginning of a new ip, I hope it becomes a big one.

As someone who's played MH4U a ton this past month I can assure you it's not at all like Xenoblade. Monster Hutner requires alot of active coordination and reflex skills for evasion and timing of attacks. Xenoblade is almost entirely statistic based and there isn't a ton of timing involved (there is some like pulling off a topple within a few seconds of notice, or extending unity buffs/attacks, but it won't kill you).

Forgive me for asking however did it say we ger early access for the DOLLS? Also, if your DOLL gets wrecked, can you quick travel to base so you can bring it to repair?
