I just back attacked the guy on the stairs then went ham on him to finish him off.

Ran up the stairs to the "old" lamp and back down to train the other 2 guys into bunch and slapped them in the face with 2 buffed cannon balls then went ham on them to.

Fuck me. Almost did s
hadows
first time. Killed
fireball guy and flaming sword dude
. the other I was about two clubs with my tonitrus away from death. I ran out of vials. He summons
two massive snake out the ground and kills me
.
I hate snakes. I hate that area
. Wasn't expecting that. such a fun fight. Will try again later without shitting myself.

I think my next character will be a Skill/Arcane girl with a mustache named Turd Ferguson.
Can't make a girl with facial hair... :( I so would make a bearded woman lol

With skill and familiarity the grind disappears. The true BB begins when you start doing 90% of your healing via rally and tactical retreats to Hunter's Dream.
So you're saying the counter-argument is... git gud? xD

Kidding aside, people may hate this phrase but damn if it doesn't simply always apply.

I'm not even complaining about blood vials, but saying the problem is someone is using too many isn't helpful at all. People are of different skill levels. They are there to be used, not hoarded.
You could say that about any consumable items. They are not meant to be used or hoarded, they're meant to be managed intelligently, which is a mix of both.

Sorry lol spoiler tag didnt work.
Got through to Amydgala in the defiled dungeon and LOL at his ridiculous range on the last 20%... absurd. 1 hit kills and he takes up 75% of the damn battlefield.

Just beat
The One Reborn
! I had more trouble finding the shortcut to it than beating it :<

And....
Yahar´gul, The Unseen Village
can FUCK OFF! I think it might be the area in any souls game that i´ve raged the most while exploring. So glad i´m done with it...i hope.

I feel like such an idiot. Took me new game plus to realize I could consume coldblood dews rather than sell them. The whole time I was getting less blood echos than I should have.

Don't feel bad, I was near the end of the game when I realized you could fast climb up ladders.

Replaying a lot of areas recently and Old Y
arnham
is easily my least favourite area now mostly because I seem to get slowdowns just running around. :\

The two last bosses were a cakewalk after finishing last Pthumerian Chalice dungeon. Cool fights though. Now I only need the Sunrise trophy. NG+ seems manageable atleast till Cathedral Ward so probably going to run through the whole game on NG+.

Or hit start or the touch pad for the menu before depositing the controller...

Wait what?? Is that true? That explains why they were so easy the second time lol.... does this apply to named hunters like Eileen, Djura etc. too?

Or if you explore thoroughly. -_- I hate that on two occasions, the game punishes you for being good.
The first is Unseen Village pre-Rom. A cool secret area but you need to get killed to see it. I would have never found it if my friend hadn't told me about it, because I didn't die to the bagmen. Had to get myself killed on purpose to see it. Lame.

The other is Iosefka. I explored Forbidden Woods thoroughly way before reaching Rom *(since this area is before Rom after all), got the clinic shortcut, and of course Iosefka was hostile so I killed her. In NG+ I waited and came back later in the game and was surprised to see she was different, and killing her yielded an umbilical cord. How was I supposed to know I had to wait? I guess she does warn you to back away but come on, you can see she turned poor NPCs into alien things, she's evil, I wasn't gonna let her get away with this! :(

And of course I sent Arianna to the clinic in NG, before I saw Iosefka was evil (sent her to the Cathedral in NG+). I didn't entirely trust her, but I had no reason to entirely trust the Cathedral weirdo either, so I didn't really have any way to know it was more dangerous.

I guess that's why you have NG+ and I don't mind hiding secrets that aren't meant to be found easily in a first playthrough, but I dislike how good exploration is being punished in Iosekfa's case.

Agreed!!! I did the exact sametwo things....
found Ioesfka early and sent the whore to the clinic before I knew s
he was a turd.... I also ,missed Eileen inthe Cathedral even after starting over...becuase I was ingenius enough to realize I could save 10k early echoes by
not buyuing the key and opening it form behind using the abandoned workshop route
. Glad i started over though...even though Eileen
died to Henryk, I
got the blade of mercy early and it was goign to be my first playthrough weapon from the start regardless. I guess I wont see eileen and do her extended questline until my third playthrough. :/

It's strange, I saw a bunch of complaints about fps in this game, but I never got that (barring moments with a ton of particles on screen etc). I did get the audio skips for just a split second once in awhile, but that was it.

Wonder what the differentiating factor is.

Hoy crap, forbidden woods gets more and more NOPE the deeper you go.

Ludwig's sword is making things easy though. I seriously underestimated that weapon.

Yeah I had to step away from the game after that area. Closest thing this game has to a blightown/valley of defilement type place in terms of drain.

And Ludwig's is the strongest weapon in the game afaik, so yeah.

When I was first doing that area, it was late at night and I was exhausted. When I saw the
little blue men from Mars
after hordes of
snakes and snake ganados and giant snakes
, I thought I was hallucinating or something.

Place is flat out creepy and long. finding the shortcut openings is an halleluiah moment.
had 100000 souls getting out the other side of there, Think I found everything there is to in there. huge huge huge area.

That is not secret. You can still get there afterwards.

Man, going to take awhile to adjust to the wheel. Once you attack you're commited, ain't no dodging. Tonitus is easy mode compared to this.

You should always leave fireball guy for last, since all his attacks can be interrupted if you get the timing right, even the summon. Just change to your faster attack form and attack as soon as he makes a motion to do anything.

Still having trouble with this. Died about 30 times I'm sure. That last 20% gets me every time. Though I'm starting to realise the best strategy is stay around his legs for that last section. Just avoid being jumped or stepped on. Hacking away at the legs does lot less damage than the head but if you do that during the last part of the fight then he'll more or less keep repeating the same stomping move or the one where he jumps up into the air. Much easier to avoid than the wild swings that take up nearly all of the arena.

just beat it tonight. definitely stick behind it on that last portion. it'll get looped in that jump attack, and it can only ever jump forward in the direction it's facing.

Here are my stats:

Vit 40
End 30
Str 35
Skl 26
Bld 10
Arc 6

Level 97. Just beat Cleric Beast in NG+. Really just focusing on Chalice Dungeons to get the platinum. Where should I go from here with leveling?

Using Ludwig's and Tonitrus usually. Want to use Burial Blade though.

I'm stuck in a few different places at the moment, Ca
inhurst
, Ni
ightmare of Mensis/Nightmare frontier
and Up
per cathedral
. I feel a bit underleveled at 61(and I suck), so what's the best place for me to farm blood echoes? I'm currently doing Le
cture building 2nd floor
.

I think
lecture floor one
will give more echos. Also try farming the 3 Giants at the second lamp in
nightmare of mensis.

Lecture building 1st floor has a room you can clear out in under a minute for at least 14k. If you haven't unlocked it start from 2nd floor and go down the ladder under the giant. On the 1st floor keep exploring until you find a key which unlocks the room on the right hand side you can use for farming.
Make sure you buy some bold hunters masks when farming. They pay for themselves fast.

Any tips? Seriously it's ridiculous

just go to her tail and attack her, she will jump away from you, rinse and repeat. It's slow but she will not even attack you.

The shield still seems to be pretty good in PVP, it staggers dagger attacks and you lose no HP.
Reiterpallasch + Shield +
Beast Roar
is what I'm doing after getting killed many times by dagger people, who would have known that the shield completely denies dagger.

For the strongest Ludwig's level strength and skill, for Tonitrus and Burial Blade same + arcane. I think you have enough Vitality for NG+, but other stats depend of your weapon of choice. Also, endurance is very important so try to balance those stats as you wish.

Burial Blade is a skill weapon first and foremost. You get very small gains from Arcane even at +10, and pretty mediocre gains from STR as well.

Burial Blade kind I find a little underwhelming. It's moveset is great and you can regain huge amounts of health when you take damage but considering how big it is I find its damage a little too small.

Chikage though, that is a weapon. My Bloodtinge is only at 30 and I'm doing 600 damage with that sword. And it's FAST.

Alright, just went to the 1st floor and it's a lot faster, thanks! Gonna try to get to around level 80 before I try to make any more progress.

Got some hate mail today! Someone invaded me in NF, after a short fight he started running away through the stage wanting me to agro the enemies... So, I went to the boss through the short cut instead. :D

EDIT: Nvm:P

Anyways im on my third character now focusing on str. Will prolly make a bloodtinge and a pure skill character aswell

I'm already in NG+ and recently reached the Cathedral Ward. About that door below you reach after the Giant with the ball and chain... does it ever open? I don't remember opening it during my first run.

That door is just Miyazaki trolling everybody.

It would just lead to the area where you fight Cleric Beast.

Maybe they removed the option to go through there because of streaming issues or something.

Ok, I'm playing NG+, but stil got a couple of newbie questions: 😌

1. What is arcane scaling on trick weapons good for? I see no arcane damage from my Ludwig blade even though it has good arcane scaling. Is it only active if I use a fire or bolt gem?

2. Is there any point in leveling up bloodtinge? I still haven't done so.

Thx for any answers!

I can't get past first boss in cursed pthumerian dungeon, this half hp thing really sucks ass. I just wanna get to that damn queen and claim that trophy

1. As you said, if you put a fire, bolt or arcane gem in there it will only scale of your arcane stat and ignore the others

2. Bloodtinge affects blood dmg. So guns do more dmg and there is a katana that does blood dmg aswell
