Bloodborne |OT+++| ...and so the Nightly Hunt continues

I have no idea what to secondary as a Chikage user, pretty much all or nothing-ed Bloodtinge and don't really know what would complement the moveset/gemset.

Looks like I'm going to be forced into a second playthrough on NG+.

Going for the platinum and in my first playthrough I pushed the hunter in Old Yarnham off the tower, but he fell into the abyss and I couldn't retrieve his badge. And, slight spoilers
I didn't realise the cannibal from the Woods was killing all my NPC's in the chapel, so Arianne is dead, and I killed Isosefka before killing Rom. GG.

How long/difficult is NG+ taking folks? Bearing in mind I've been killing every boss I've met in under five tries.

Think you need three playthroughs anyway as you need all three endings trophies

Any tips for defiled 3rd boss? I'm going mad

One of his hands dangles next to his right leg. If you stay near it, you can easily bait it into using only the foot stomp and no other attacks. The hand itself is easy to hit between foot stomps.

This will help you easily bring him down to 1/3 health where he'll then rip that arm off. From here I just stayed behind him and attacked his legs/tail just to be safe. Whenever he jumps, just roll toward where he was before he jumped and you'll be fine.

Nah, I backed up my save so I'll have two of the three endings nailed once I beat
Gherman.
Just trying to finish up the Chalice Dungeon trophy now.

Or if you explore thoroughly. -_- I hate that on two occasions, the game punishes you for being good.
The first is Unseen Village pre-Rom. A cool secret area but you need to get killed to see it. I would have never found it if my friend hadn't told me about it, because I didn't die to the bagmen. Had to get myself killed on purpose to see it. Lame.

The other is Iosefka. I explored Forbidden Woods thoroughly way before reaching Rom *(since this area is before Rom after all), got the clinic shortcut, and of course Iosefka was hostile so I killed her. In NG+ I waited and came back later in the game and was surprised to see she was different, and killing her yielded an umbilical cord. How was I supposed to know I had to wait? I guess she does warn you to back away but come on, you can see she turned poor NPCs into alien things, she's evil, I wasn't gonna let her get away with this! :(

And of course I sent Arianna to the clinic in NG, before I saw Iosefka was evil (sent her to the Cathedral in NG+). I didn't entirely trust her, but I had no reason to entirely trust the Cathedral weirdo either, so I didn't really have any way to know it was more dangerous.

I guess that's why you have NG+ and I don't mind hiding secrets that aren't meant to be found easily in a first playthrough, but I dislike how good exploration is being punished in Iosekfa's case.

I was watching ENB's playthrough, & you actually can tell that
Iosefka turns evil, at first she sounds different & she doesn't have a weapon if you look through the door's crack, but later on after you defeat father G & watch through the door, you see her holding a weapon, or rather, her fake clone is

Miyazaki never gets lazy in his attention to detail.

Thanks, I've been doing fine until that last phase, one tiny mistake and I'm done. Taking a break an will try your strat.

Bad range, especially in primed mode. The special r2 is awesome but really really slow so good luck landing it. Worst of all is it's scaling.

I wanted to like it but it's really really lackluster.

Arf, I see.
Well, I'll try that one and also Tonitrus myself to see how it is!

I'm not sure about the final bosses, but the critical path up to that point wasn't hard.

gave a bit more trouble than the first time round but that's about it. You can rush through areas really fast too in NG+ since you know all the routes. I bet you could do it in a few hours.

Stake driver is by far the worst weapon in the game. Tonitrus is a great choice since it wrecks even if you're not min maxed for it.
Any idea how the scaling affects damage numbers on the Tonitrus? I've read that in transformed mode it does more damage with higher arcane stats. So am I better off taking strength to 50 first or arcane to 25?

Just trying to finish up the Chalice Dungeon trophy now.

You should be able to reload your game, and his items should be at the top of the tower.

As for NG+, it starts out a bit difficult, imo, since everything is scaled in the beginning. But, you can sikip most of the bosses anyway so it doesn't take that long. Definitely got easier as I progressed in NG+.

You people dissing the Kirkhammer are crazy, it's awesome. I've got quite a few other weapons at +9/10 but always end up going back to the hammer. The sword's great for stunlocking enemies and the hammer's great for dishing huge damage in a single strike.

Yea, I can't put the Kirkhammer down. r2 charge into r2 circular swing does MASSIVE damage. Very good for regular mobs. I watched a pvp hammer vid, and I can't wait to top off at 120, and give it a go.

down! Took 3 tries. Hopped on, and just started grinding my way through the Woods. Survived for about an hour before I ran into the fog gate. They burned me through my 20 vials on the first attempt, had to hunters mark back to the lamp at the last sec, to avoid losing 70k echoes. Spen them all, went back in, and died within 2 mins to a random add... Bloodborne

This game is funny though. Had me running around for an hour or so. It really only takes like 3 mins to run from the FW start lamp to the S
hadows
. Encountered my first
fly
man. Gross.

This game doesn't want me to do Eileen's quest, the first two times i attempted it Henryk killed us both. Now i've just entered into NG+ and she hasn't spawned at her first point by the sewers.

I thought they patched this shit.

If you guys have a tip for Eb
rietas
, though? That one's quite hard

Ok this is how I did it.
I had Ludwig's on two hand for most of the fight. Take plenty of bolt paper, you should be able to by it with insight at this point from the messenger fountain. You may also want to equip the frenzy resistance rune for this one.

When you hit the fog gate, don't run just walk. You can get behind her without her turning around. Charge attack her with your best two handed weapon with bolt paper added. At this point she's pretty predictable, just stay to her side and charge attack when you can. You might be able to visceral her head when she staggers but she recovers quickly, I found it was easier to just keep charge attacking her flank.

When she gets to a little over half her life left she starts going berserk. Your goal is to make sure bolt is applied at that point if you don't have it. The strategy remains the same here, but the difficulty will be that she is much more active. Still keep to her side and a little behind(not directly) and keep charge attacking. If her head is facing you, know that it means your likely death if you don't dodge quickly to the side at this point. Staying close to her during this phase will cause your health to slowly drain(think slow poison) at times, but you should have ample time to heal if you stay close to the sides of her tails. The only attack you'll need to worry about is when she raises up and lights start beaming. If you even think she is doing this stop attacking immediately and dodge left three times in quick succession. Once it's over go back to hugging the side of her tail and charge attacking. Hope this helps

Huh? Does he drop a third umbilical cord or something?

If the quest work, just use the pistol to interrupt Henryk attacks when Eileen join the fight, you avoid hitting her and she'd have no problem defeating him like this.

I'm not sure exactly since I don't know how the buff affects the numbers. I think it would end up being pretty close though either one you'd pick. If you're also using a ludwigs in conjunction then going str would probably be wisest?

People are still talking about the blood vials? they're not a problem AT ALL, I just started my bloodtinge character a few hours ago, beat 3 bosses & on my way to beat
The Witch
& my storage is already full, the only reason someone would run out of blood vials is if s/he fails at bosses repeatedly, & if you do, well, the game punishes you for it, you should be punished, the estus flask was a crutch & it failed to punish you for not learning from your mistakes.

Maybe now you'll pay attention to the boss's patterns instead of making the same mistakes over & over now that you don't have infinite healing items?

SHHHHIT... The gatling gun guy fell off the tower and now his items are"floating" in mid air...did he have anything important on him?

EDIT: PHEW the item spawned on top of the tower when I died

So I met the "thing" after beating martry log..I'm wondering if I should kill the "thing "? I agreed to it... But read something about a quest where I do have to kill it..??

Anybody have any tips for that asshole hunter on the second floor in
Byrgenweth
?

I have a Saw Spear +6 and Threaded Cane +6 and I do very little damage to him. Dude was tearing me up and I booked it to the lantern so I wouldn't lose my echos.

Anyone looking for the ring of bretrothal can grab it from the pre-area of floor 1 in this dungeon gllyph code: e99tdh9f

Pthumeru Ihyll chalice required.

Arcane does increase the dmg of the buff, i have 45 arcane and off the top of my head i think my atk rating is around 750 with the buff

Awwww Yiiiiss!!!!! Y
harnam
down!!!

Overal Ihyll was WAAAAAYYYYY easier than the friggin Defiled Chalice.

I skipped the optional doors though. Anything important there other than Chalice mats?

Now I just need the endings for my first PSN Platinum trophy ever!

You can buy the Sinister Ihyl Root Chalice on the 3rd floor before the checkpoint. Other that just mats and shit

You can pretty easily cheese her if you want. As soon as you make it up to her floor,
face the wall to the right where she's coming from. Spam her with your gun until a visceral opportunity arises and use it. She'll fly back into the corner and is now trapped. Rinse and repeat, using her stun/time on the ground to regen or use vials if necessary.

well the blood letting beast is a veritable delight
not sure why Im doing these chalice dungeons, not enjoying them at all

Yes...should I kill her??? I read she had something to do with Alfred's quest

They're both leaders of their respective covenants, if you want to side with Alfred, don't kill her, pick up the unaddressed summons in her room & give it to him, then go visit her chamber, & then go back to where you first met him in the altar just before old yharnam, you can still revive her later in the game if you pick up her flesh

Yeah the load times are there to punish people as well. If you were better at the game you wouldn't see them as much. Also the frame rate drops on the game are because you are leaving to many enemies on the screen. If you were killing them fast enough you would never notice the slowdown. All you haters just need to get better at the game.

Hey guys, I'm (probably) finishing up my first play through of the game and have no idea about cords and haven't met some of the NPCs I've seen mentioned here.

Read that I need three endings for the Platinum - am I fucked if I play through the game again trying to get a different ending without referring to a walkthrough? I want to be on the right path but would prefer if it wasn't blatantly told to me, if you get where I'm coming from.

Disagree completely. While farming vials hasn't been a huge problem for me (I've only had to do it a couple times), it's just mindless busy work just so I can keep playing the game. It's not fun, it's not hard... doesn't make the game more challenging either - just more time consuming. The punishment for dying is already the possibility of losing all your blood echos and the run back to the boss. I see no reason to add the potential for grinding vials back into the mix.

It doesn't even really take long to farm more vials in the game, but it's just annoying and the flask system was much better in the Souls games.

Reposting for the new page:

I'm almost finished my NG (just M
ergo's Wet Nurse
and the endings to go), and I have a few questions.

I'm aiming for the platinum. With that in mind, are there any materials I'd need to farm to open Chalice Dungeons that are specific to areas later in the game? I don't want to finish the game only to realise I have to play up to a certain point in the story again to obtain items necessary for the Chalice Dungeons.

Also, does anyone have a link to a comprehensive guide for the Chalice Dungeons? i.e. the best and quickest route to Y
harnam
etc.

I do want to play a NG+, but I'd honestly prefer to get as much cleaned up in my NG as possible first (I know the Dungeons don't scale when you start NG+).
