Wow your BoM does almost as much damage as my LHB. What gems do you use?

I'll check the gems in the morning, but I always keep whatever gives me the best bonus to attack and arcane. I also have 60 Skill and 25 Arcane. If an opponent is vulnerable to stun-lock, it's vicious in dual-wielding mode. The downside is the limited reach. I actually tried the cane/whip for the first fight, but on the second one I found I could generally get up close enough to actually hit him with the blades.

attempting to take out
watchdog of old lords
with no blood vials in the dungeon. Almost had him until his move transformation which he performed something new.

Okay those levels might have something to do with it. I would boost my Strength and Skill but that character is already over 140lvl. Wish I could remove my stupid Arcane dump from the build since it is worthless for me (realized this when it was already too late).

edit. Also isn't 60 in Skill little overkill?

I've lit the lamp at both
Nightmare frontier and Nightmare of Mensis
, is there any particular order to which one I need to tackle first? From what I've gathered,
Nightmare Frontier
is optional but I want to tackle all possible areas regardless.

Well
Frontier
is easier of the two so might want to do that first. No other reason to pick either or.

I am in NG+ and I still don't know how to open the door next to chest (the room before that is full of urns). Any ideas?

Doesn't that lead back to
Great Bridge
? Don't think you can open it since there is no real reason to open it.

Thanks. I've watched a walkthrough of the one you've suggested while being bored at work, but I have no idea at all what happens in
Mensis
. I'll most likely roll with what you suggested.

You don't.

The other side of the door is the lamp on the great bridge. Why it remains closed forever I dunno but I assume it was intended to be a shortcut that was just never fully put in.

you can't. It's closed. Lore spoiler :

It the gate that link the cathedral ward to central yarnham, at the end of the great bridge, where you fight the cleric beast. Its said the healing church blocked access to protect itself from the plague, like the closed the access to the old yarnham and burned it down

F
rontier
is optional while M
ensis
is required, F
rontier
has a lot of weaker versions of enemies found in M
ensis
.

Started watching a Speedrun of NG++..But the guy duped a bunch of echoes and was level 500+ so it was a bit pointless. Spent a while this afternoon trying to get the Woods terrain skip down..Was harder than it looked.

Is there anything needed to get invaded? I've been playing for 30 hours or maybe more and haven't got invaded once. Is this normal?

What skip?

What I've gathered you can only be invaded if you ring the bell to summon someone. Also
Nightmare
areas have Bell Ringing Ladies that will bring in invaders.

What skip?

In Central Yharnam where the Executioner is, you can run and jump over a coffin to land on the wall, then run along the wall, turn around and run and jump before the sandbag and you go flying over the rail onto the opposite side..in the Clinic's Graveyard..less than 5mins into the game you can be in the Woods.

Hey guys....

Just beat
micolash and did the whole mother brain thing
....I'm probably getting pretty close to the end right? So I should probably stop and get all the gear I need before going into NG+....

It'll be very obvious when you get to the point of no return. But yeah, you're close.

I have the Bloodborne logo burned into my retinas, i look at the wall and there it is, i look at the ceiling and there it is again. i think im going to bed. good night GAF.

Spend almost an hour yesterday doing co-op sessions at
Byrgenwerth
.
Rom
is a really fun boss fight at co-op! that being said a lot of the attempts ended very quickly because the hosts were not careful enough and died
in a few minutes by the smaller bastards
.

After that I decided to go to
Cainhurst Castle
...the atmosphere in this place is simply amazing and I love the enemies with the
rapiers
(some of the most fun enemies in the game IMO), I think that I searched the area pretty thoroughly and now I am at
Martyr Logarius
who is probably the hardest boss for me in the game thus far. I have to get his pattern down because he destroyed me yesterday. :3

I've done the following and I'm wondering where to go next....

Cleric Beast
Father G
BSB
Vicar Amelia
Hemwick Witches
Shadows of Yarnham
Dark Beast Paarl
Rom
Martyr Logarius

I've also completed Alfred's and Eileen's quests, resolved the story of Father G's daughter, and screwed up by killing Losekfa too early. I only have one umbilical cord so far, and ate it. What next?

Next step would either be
Nightmare Frontier
or the
Unseen Village

Wow, I finally beat The W
atchdog of the Old Lords in the Cursed Defiled Pthumeru dungeon. That was a rough fight but I manage to beat him on my 5th attempt. Even though he was able to kill me in 2 hits or that dadh attack, I had to get the timing of each roll perfectly.
overall I really enjoy the fight! One of the few bosses where I had troubles on and my hands were sweating near the end with my heart beating fast haha. Can't wait for the dlc! Such a great game :D

I'm facing him right now, well for the last 1 hour I should say. Problem is I have no blood vials so I kept on losing against him. But now I've secured nearly 6000 blood echoes and I'm going to go crazy on blood vials!.

ah, ok.
I know that one.
pretty easy to do imo.

Unseen Village
. Literally the path that the game puts you on when defeating
Rom
. Also in that exact same spot you can go to
The Lecture Building Floor 1 if you let Amy grab you and if you have the Tonsil Stone (which is obtained by any NPC after you enter the Forbidden Woods, I believe)

So I did things in a pretty weird order. Did Cathedral Ward, Hemwick and Forbidden Woods before Old Yharnam. Needless to say, BSB went down very easily to my relatively high level and +6 weapons. Now the first chalice dungeons are a bit too easy and the loot hasn't really been worthwhile. But I got an awesome gem in layer 2 of my root central Pthumeru dungeon last night. +10.5% or so to physical attack in a droplet gem which fits into any gem. Pretty sweet!

I'd like to tackle Unseen Village last, as those Bell Maiden's are pissing me off. Who's Amy? Where do I have to go to let her grab me? I have the Tonsil Stone.

I had to farm for about ~20 mins to have enough for a few attempts. I actually was down to zero vials when I finally beat him barely..

Good luck :)

Did the same yesterday, maybe after a few more attempts. After reading some experiences here I was worried to solo him but ultimately got to the point where having some kind of control over the fight, apart from the silly charge, Patience is definitely rewarded. Was quite a successful session yesterday,
Abhorrent Beast + Watchdog down.
Can't wait for the final Boss ,I already know who that will be. Will surely take some more time.

Amygdala is the large cthulhu like creature. There is one in the building that you spawn in after killing Rom which is the place that leads to Unseen Village.

Well I did it! I beat it and got the secret ending. First Souls style game I have really spent this much time on and I love it a lot. The boss battles can be a bit frustrating and I vastly prefer the times when I am scouting for another shortcut or items. Regardless though getting through the game was a goal for me and I am so happy I did.

I actually had a harder time on
Gehrman than I did on Moon Presence, Gehr took me about 15 tries sadly lol, gave up and upgraded some equipment first
.

I played a little bit of NG+ downing Cleric on my first attempt. Kinda shocked considering he took me about 8-10 tries the first time.

Simply a amazing game and now I want more. Luckily I already bought Dark Souls 2 on PS4 and already dumped a good chunk of time into yesterday after finishing BB.

Bring on the Bloodborne DLC! I will buy it all!

Dem CV feels when you buff the cane with magic and start slaughtering mobs in whip form... Occasional throwing dagger for fun too. Had to do it for the entirety of C
ainhurst
despite my cane being only +3, it just felt so right.

I am the morning sun, come to vanquish this horrible night!
:3

I was surprised I manage to solo him honestly, if I was unable to kill him that last attempt ( since I ran out of vials and had to get going) I was planning on asking for help on GAF. I felt like I had control over the battle, I tried to stay close enough for The W
atchdog of the Old Lords to do his head swing attack the majority of the time. Which I sidestep to whatever side he is swinging from, hit him once or twice then get the fuck out. His AoE was able to kill me in 1 hit same with his dash attack.
Overall took me about 10 mins to beat him. I took my time with him.
Did you use heavy attacks on him? More dmg but slower and takes up stamina.
I used the Holy Sword in the straight sword form R1 attack. I felt like the greatsword or any heavy attack was too slow, allowing myself to get hit. Took me about ~10 mins all together to beat him.
edit: What I did was
stay close to him, so he would do his head swing attack the majority of the time. Whatever side he would attack from, I would side step that direction towards him. Hit him once or twice at max then 2 rolls away. If you manage to knock him down, I was able to get 3 hits in before he does his AoE attack. He tends to glow really bright before his dash attack as well.
Hope that helps.

Is there something you can do with the Yharnam Stone you get when you have killed
the queen?

Doesn't it unlock ritual blood in the store? Or does it unlock just for beating the last Pthumerian dungeon.

Is there a chance for the
brain enemies
to drop level 15 gems for the trophy ? I hate them so much though...

I don't think they drop them. Best bet is Chalice dungeons for high level gems.

For anyone looking for a high level farm spot, let's say for vials for your Defiled Chalice attemps, I found that the most effective spot is in the first Ailing Loran Chalice Dungeon, in the very first room right after the layer one lamp. It's a large room full of those old ladies, they're pretty easy if you're not reckless. Clear the full room (two minutes? three?) for almost 30k blood echoes, run back to the lamp and repeat. You can make 90k in three runs in 10-12 minutes, and buy 100 vials, or a level or whatever.

I've got the kirkhammer. I'm familiar with his attacks, but it was just his later move set when he's low on health that got me. Anway, got 21 vials again, time to go back in! Thanks for the tips BTW :)
