Question about the O

Re
born

Am I just weak as shit or is he strong as shit? I've seen a couple of videos where a dude is using his Tonitrus and he's killing him kinda fast. I'm level 41 and read somewhere the recommended level is 60, which seems a bit high but still. I tried dropping down on him but that doesn't do much damage either.

Should I just level up or what?

Are the
Blades of Mercy
worth it? I'm running a Skill build, using Cane +7 primary, with
Holy Blade +6
I think secondary. Considering another weapon, I know
Blades of Mercy
are skill based, but are they worth investing in at this point in the game?
Yahar'gul is my next necessary location and I'm level 63

I haven't use them myself, but I've read people seem to be happy with them. If you can get a decent rapid poison gem in them, they work very well together.

Leveling up would help, for sure, but I see no reason why you couldn't do it. I assume you are
killing the witches
, but are you attacking the
small legs on his sides
? They're his weak point.

I personally liked the "middle" ending where
you replace Gehrman
, I found it more fitting to the theme & story of the game.

Yeah I agree but that true ending was pure WTF did I missed something ?
Do you become the next Moonlight Presence ?

First time asking for help with this game, but I don't really know what to do at the moment.

My level is 72, vit 30 and end, str and skill at 25 each. 20 insight if that explains anything. Anyway, I'm not sure where to go. I recently beat boss:
Rom
and unlocked that new special town but the difficulty spike is pretty intense even with my stats and a cleaver+6, blade of mercy+6 and holy blade+7.
I've found two respawn witches but can't seem to find the third where's a ton of hatchet witches :lol
Is there any other place I should go instead? I've beaten boss:
Amygdala in the Nightmare Frontier
, there's nothing to do in the lecture building and the prison won't let me go back in with the gravestone. I remember a strange poison lake in the forbidden woods but I don't remember how to get there xD Am I missing something or should I just power through it? :/ I keep getting enough echoes to level up because I'm not making much progress, heh.

The BoM is the hardest weapon to use, but it gives you the highest dps in the game.

My interpretation is that
you achieve the next step in Evolution, which is what seemingly everyone wanted in the game

Wasted 80+ blood vials on
Rom
. Almost wasted a controller. Just beat him. Didnt cast Blizzard once and he didnt even hit me. WTF.

EDIT: Looking at other peoples levels on beating him. I might be slightly under leveled at level 45. Or people just grind these games hard.

As long as your weapon is +6 or higher and you get decent scaling from it, you should be okay. I recommend locking onto his upper body at the front and keeping good distance from him, waiting until he does the AoE. Then buff your weapon with some bolt paper, run in and go ham on his abdomen... thing. The lead body will drop down and you can get some really nice damage on him there. Here's a gfy to illustrate this strategy (also you should be doing much nicer damage than in that gfy as I was sl4 at the time) http://gfycat.com/CornyIncompleteHake

45! Awesome job man he was a difficult fight for me at 57.

I just beat The One Reborn and have went through a lecture hall. Now I leave out the door and I start getting hit by something. I can't go anywhere and snake/wolves attack me? Best case scenario? lol

Well that actually make sense !

But I still would have preferred if the story stayed
Gothic horror without the aliens part

Not sure if any of you guide-bros saw this Facebook update from Future Press:

Quick update, the books will be delivered to Amazon from this Thursday through next Monday. Please disregard any notifications claiming that you'll get the book in May or so. Also, all pre-orders will be fulfilled, too, so don't worry.

Thanks again your patience.
More waiting...

What moves did he use? It kinda sounds like you reached the runtime glitch or something.

He is actually easy once you learn his patterns. He's slow and sluggish, and he kinda telegraphs his attacks

The
small spiders
can be annoying, but they are also rather mellow and can be lured out and killed one by one. I've had trouble with him at first untill I stopped rolling everywhere and started thinking. Then he became a breeze.

Red spiders are literally worse than Hitler.

Nobody expects the Red Spider Inquisition! Once you open that door...

there ain't no closing it.

What's the best way to farm chunks?

I like using them in both pve and pvp. The regular slashes may not do much individually but you can really lock an enemy down if you rapidly attack. The attack immediately after a sidestep/dodge is probably the most powerful attack for the weapon, so these are good for larger monsters that don't interrupt easily.

You can continue to
Nighmare of Mensis
. You can get there via the
Lecture building
Did you get through the
Unseen village?

Wait till you get to the dungeons with 2 bell maidens in the same room spawning armies of them simultaneously and continuously, oh and a couple werewolves thrown in for good measure.
What's the best way to farm chunks?
Upper Cathedral Ward, blue eyed werewolves, 5 of them right near the lamp, kill them then let the little frenzy slugs kill you to cut on loading times.

What's the best way to farm chunks?

Killing the 5
blue eyed werewolves in the Upper Cathedral Ward.
Kill all 5 and use a bold hunters mark, rinse and repeat. You'll get far more echoes than it costs to buy 'em for farming.

Just make sure you boost your discovery with the two 'eye' runes available. High discovery is essential because the chunk drops are rare.

Amazing. Struggled like hell with Defiled Amygdala yesterday and died like 10 times. Got home from work just now, attempted the fight and killed him on my first try.

Weee!

You can get through it. Yeah it's difficult, but at your level I'm sure you can clear the area. And remember, if all else fails, run like the wind.
Yeah I guess I should try harder xD That is the way to go yes? I can't find that other place you mentioned (going to the wiki).

I thought that at first but I just turned it on in my lunch break. Just lucky I guess.

Is there some specific pattern to dodging the blizzard? Sometimes spam rolling forward worked, sometimes id get hit 3 times, others once or twice. I tried lock on strafing and once again it seemed to be random if i got hit. Lock on actually made it harder if enemies were too close.

Wait, you can buy stone chunks in the shop? Is there something you need to unlock that? I'm at NG+ and still only have access up to twin stone shards.

They're not random in the main game as well, I got the same runes in the same location for 3 different characters.

The high end ones can only be found in the chalice dungeons anyway, although stacking multiple runes of the same effect can be effective in certain situations.

that's good to know about the high lvl ones thanks. I didn't think they were random, at least I'm glad that they aren't.

Im a little pissed cause ive finished the game and now wanted to just walk around finding optional bosses, but have to do that in new game plus its just ridiculous, my weapon is maxed out and even cleric beast is super hard:S

Anyone who pre-ordered the guide from Amazon heard anything? Did it get delayed? Cancelled? Something is up.

I just made it to Nightmare mensis, when does the door to upper cathedral ward open up? thanks
