If you have it equipped your stamina will regenerate 20% slower.
Activating the hand lantern lowers stamina regeneration.

Never bought the hand lantern in either of my playthroughs. Guess I lucked out.
I finally decided to stop doing chalices and finish the game one last time to get the platinum. Done !
I feel like I've done everything I could exploration-wise but I still have this feeling (or hope ?) that there are more things to uncover. I can't wait for the guide, I still have so many questions (massive spoilers):
I loved that game so much ! Being a fan of Lovecraft and of previous Souls games, and having managed to keep an almost total blackout before the release, the unfolding events of the game, and overall atmosphere, were staggering to me. I fear it might be quite some time before another game of this caliber sees the day.
Time to level up my cane character hehe.
I feel like I've done everything I could exploration-wise but I still have this feeling (or hope ?) that there are more things to uncover. I can't wait for the guide, I still have so many questions (massive spoilers):
- Ring of betrothal ? I gave many dregs to the queen and tried every attire available; she still wouldn't accept the proposal... "Honestly ?"
- Fake Iosefka: on my third run I sent everybody but the little girl to the clinic, and on the last one she said something like "I'll try old blood on the next one", it almost makes me want to start another game just to do it again with the little girl and see what happens.
- the stone dropped by the chalice queen: it's got to serve a purpose
- still hoping for some beast "transformation" development
- that closed hatch at Byrgenwerth and the Cathedral Ward closed door, what gives ?

whoa!!!!!! this just blew my mind holy shit! I use the lantern about 80% of the time and I had no idea. fuck me I'm at nightmare mensis. this whole time I've been upgrading stamina. Its like I'm taking crazy pills!

That it probably connects to the Cleric Beast lantern ? Or is there anything more to it ?

Just that. Someone said they might of removed it to reduce loading times, which sounds plausible.

Seriously, I guess I got the Platinum Trophy doing Hard Mode.
Does the beckoning bell not seem to work for anyone else? I've shut down the game and completely restarted and it will just sit there and never summon anyone. I know my network is working and I have no password set. Its also set to search worldwide.

It happened to me too and I think its after I made it to the unseen village and the hypobeon gaol is out of commission.

At the end of my second playthrough after I beat
, the Doll wasn't in her usual spot, I figured the game was glitched, but then I saw her kneeling at a gravestone near the Insight Messengers saying a prayer for me. It was quite a bit of dialogue (maybe 5 or 6 lines) and it really surprised me. Is this random? I'm at well over 100 hours in my game and never saw this.

I hope there's an armor in the DLC that's covered in lanterns and reduces stamina regen rate by 90%.

This game, man. My second playthrough I thought I'd check out some of the NPC summons and I even had to restart the game to get that to work.

that happened to me and it was awesome but very weird. When I couldn't find her I freaked out for a bit before I found her.

Covered in Lanterns that are covered in Eyes so I can be as slow and plodding as the point-and-grunt Cathedral Wardens.
Have you used the rifle spear before that? if so, which one do you like better? Also, how's the damage with Reiterpallasch?
Depending on the optional areas you've covered, you should be around
2/3 of the game

consume 3 umbilical cord, i'm not sure if there's a certain moment where you're supposed to do that or you can just consume them whenever you want

Along with the Summoned Red Spider dance party conga-lines, yes.
You need to eat 3 umbilical cords before fighting gerhman. After you beat him you will fight the moon presence
lol. I used to do same thing in Dark Souls 2 as an invader (and when I'd get invaded) at top of Iron Keep 3rd bonfire and knock down enemies to their deaths. hehe
Not sure if I call it a troll though, as anything goes in invasions. The host person in video failed my #1 rule in invasions (that applies to both parties). Never ever play the other person's game. As soon as I saw the ladder, I knew what the invader was going to try, and most likely succeed.
He/she should have instead waited at bottom and wasted the invaders time. Not as much fun as a duel of course. But if the invader got bored enough, would come down and face you, giving up their major advantage.
