Just out of curiosity. What's your favorite boss battle in the game, Gaf?

I really like Mergo's Wet Nurse, but my favorite is Gascoigne, as it feels like a pvp duel.

The two Gs, Gascoigne and
Gehrman
. Coincidentally, these fights have the best music as well.

It's not my favorite but I think Cleric Beast deserves a little love. Incredibly epic entrance and one of the best songs in the game to accompany the fight. Combine that with the visual design of the boss and the insane screeches it makes... so good.

I just can't beat Vicar. Tried the whole week...

Dodge into her when she attacks, and hit her legs from behind/the sides to stagger her. Also use fire paper & molotovs when when you can + numbing mist to prevent her HP regen. Her attacks are pretty predictable, just try not to leave too much distance between yourself and her if you can help it.

I was just watching a video of someone facing The O
ne Reborn
and he never did his second transformation against me. Another boss that was ruined because of the glitch. Fuck sake.

What 2nd transformation and also what glitch? :O

Lvl? Weapon? Use fire paper and numbing mist for the heal

Lvl 26, weapon is saw cleaver upgraded some bit.

I know. Tried to make some distances between us.

I think you're in the clear.

Thank you. I'm surprised they essentially made this a one-playthrough game. i'm used to 2 to 2.5 playthroughs. I'll probably do a ng+ (and maybe ++) anyway though.

Id just rather them not be able to heal. Its bullshit how they invade with 20 BV's and you're through a level already down and they can out sustain simply by having more vials.

You have vials too. And you might have coop partners making it 3 on 1. And even if it's just 1 on 1, them's the breaks, shoot them while they are using a vial and visceral them. Worst case? You die, no big deal.

Upper Cathedral
is annoying because of possibility losing bunch of insight.
Yahar'gul Chapel
was okay IMO. Just decided to run through everything.

Well they already have advantage to hide behind enemies. Also they can already use Choir Bell and
Iosefkas Blood Vial
to heal.

I lost 4 there stupidly, thankfully I've got 40+ insight so it's no big deal.

RE: the
Iosefkas Blood Vial
-- wait, you can use that item more than once?

I wish more of this games content wasn't optional, I beat the game missing so much, I can only imagine people never replaying it and missing really cool areas.

What 2nd transformation and also what glitch? :O

When he's at half health, he becomes far more aggressive and seems to arrange himself so the
torso is at the back

The glitch is that if you leave Bloodborne on for 10 hours or more, the bosses use only half of their moves making them extremely easy. Using suspend and resume also activates it even when on the title screen which I done a couple of times.

good tips but if you don't have memory leak, or she behaves normally,
she does a spin attack when you are behind her that rakes the ground all around so you actually need to dodge in and out for parts of it
. or you can go side to side sometimes as well but its difficult.

I'm sure you beat her legit but I've seen tons of videos where she doesn't do shit and then people say she's easy.

I think it's incredible that they were willing to make so much of the content optional. Nowadays modern game budgets dictate that everything must be thrown in front of the player in one playthrough, otherwise they could miss out on a section of the game that cost millions to make. Once again FROM takes a modern gaming convention and flips it on its head.

Anyway, now you have a nice reason to go back for another run (or play NG+)!

I just killed it as fast as i could and tbh i didnt even understand any attack pattern it had.I dint do any of these things though

Is it worth it to kill the hunter in Byrgenworth? I used up all of my vials trying to fight her, I figured I had to kill her in order to talk to the guy outside the locked door (I just ran passed her to get the key). Eventually I got fed up and looked and a guide and
just ran past her, into the lake to Rom.

Feels like cheating since this fight seems more essential than any of the other hunters. The guy gives you a clue that you need to
jump into the lake, and it'd be hard to see that without killing the hunter.
It's such a frustrating fight though, I barely to any damage and she kills me in two hits, three max. A few times more than one of her missile things hit me at once and killed me in a single hit from full health.

I'm curious, is the
huge Cthulhu spider
from the trailer still in the game? Very early in the game you read something references
the Byrgenworth spider, I got excited when I got to Byrgenworth since I figured it would be there but I guess it was referring to Rom.

Lol, I just opened up the
Lecture
Hall, explored a bit, opened a door an entered the
Nightmare of Mensis
or something. What the shit.

She's pretty easy to parry, try that.

Have they ever nerfed anything for PvP in Souls?

I think I'll just play through N
ightmare
F
rontier
in Offline Mode to avoid PvP in this game lol

Yeah. Dark Souls 2 multiplayer PvP was getting nerfs all the time. Esp to spells and back stabs. In initial few patches, the back stab was over powered and could easily kill you. But now backstabs are less powerful then doing an extended attack. Which is actually good since lag and annoying netcode resulted in lagstabs from across the level.. lol

Main nerfs were spells, which could easily kill people. Like Sunlight Spear & Wrath of the Gods.

They've nerfed quite a lot for pvp in souls. Like the dark wood grain ring, pyromancy, fire/lightning weapons, etc. etc.

The notes were referred to Rom, you'll see those Cthulhu like spiders from now on
(plot twist! they were always there!! you could see them with just 40 insight during the whole game), but if you want to fight one of them... it's optional and you must do some stuff.

spread the blood of
Ioesfka all over the clinic before or after the blood moon?

any marked difference which is better option?

Doing it
after.....
leads to getting one of the
items
required
for the
"true" ending
.

What the "additional ritual" do exactly ? I've tried one but I don't see much differences except for the bosses.

Basically, they increase difficulty in exchange for increasing rate/quality of loot.

Headless bloodletting beast. Right amount of aggressive, great design, second phase is freaky as hell. Really enjoyed it.

Yesterday I have been killed at the hut in Hemwick and lost a lot of souls. Today I cleared the area but my souls are gone. There even was no enemy with them - what happend?

That may be a bug, it happened to me once. I left my bloodstain at a boss fight, quit, and went to bed. The next day the bloodstain was definitely gone when it shouldn't have been.

It does seem to be a bug, they don't actually vanish, they end up in the
Lecture Hall. 2F I think.

Just speaking of "shit just got real" moments in boss fights: that moment when
Amygdala rips off two of its own arms to use as weapons...

Loooooooved that.

Yeah, it definitely was an "OMG" moment. I was like "OHHH, she's going
last giant
on me!"

Spoiler tag just to be safe lol

Lol at the cannon whiners. So some dude posts a youtube video of him slaughtering noobs with a cannon shot after a parry and suddenly it is OP. I sometimes wonder if people on this board actually PvP or do they just watch it on youtube, smh. Bunch of armchair quarterbacks here.

Actually, I think if you quit the game without recovering your echoes, you lose them for good. It happened to me when I was still in Central Yharnam.

RE: the

I remember reading that you can get more of those if you have used one. Sure it is one time per fight but still.

So what you're saying is you're a cannon user.

Yes, you can use these more than once. You can only have one in your inventory, but after it is used, you can go back and get another one (depending on where you are in the story).

Canon is OP. No different than thunder spears, and those got nerfed in DS2. If it was a perfect lag free environment I might side with you, but that's not the case in Souls pvp.

People were complaining about the cannon before that video was posted. It's really nothing new. And yes this is coming from people who actually PvP'd.

Second illusory wall found. Again only Sage's wrist in a chest -_-.

Did someone find one in the main game so far? (non chalice) ?

Oh shit, lower phtumeru laberinth lvl 3 is putting the "tough enemy in one area" count up a bit.

So what you're saying is you're a cannon user.
Not really, I do have one character that can use the cannon but I spend more time on my skill character.

The details are not what bother me, it is the general movement by online communities to want to ruin anything that is remotely useful. The cannon is good in its current state (I would say balanced, given its bullet consumption), but if you get hit by it in PvP, then you deserve to lose the match. It is not some overpowered boom stick that cause the opponent to lose regardless of skill.

I hear whining about the Ludwig Holy Blade on other boards, when the weapon itself is merely one of the good ones and certainly not a force in PvP.

Asking for a ban/nerf without exhausting other options is the scrubs way out.

I just beat
Celestial Emissery
found in
Upper Cathedral Ward
. Is that all there is to the area or am I missing something?

that area was cool but short. I beat the boss so easy it was a joke. I'm pretty lvl'd up but still. I'm pretty sure its just the orphanage two stories and the balconies and the boss area.

Completed it last night. I enjoyed it. It was my first experience with a game of this ilk and while I won't be rushing back in to play (it is far too oppressive for my tastes), it is something that will stick with me.

Clocked it in just over 24 hours and must say I didn't find it too tough. Definitely the best game out on the PS4.

Have you done everything ? 24h seems a bit low for that.
