YEAH! I did it.
I finished NG+!

I did a TON of side content for ages so I ended up being pretty overleveled for the final fight(I was level 141)

Only got about 4 trophies to go until platinum, I've been hearing a lot of people say how difficult/annoying the chalice dungeons are so, I'm nervously looking forward to it.
That's way over lvled. I finished the game at lvl60. And, finished the chalices on another character at lvl75.

The earlier chalices are a piece of cake. Only the Defiled and depth 5 chalices are really hard.

First, warp to Witch's abode and kill the big axe guys outside the door they'll drop between 3-4 vials each and give up 3k echoes each, good for getting vials back.

After that, ring your beckoning bell with the gaf password outside the boss door and I'll do the same. We can give it a shot.

Just did the vial farming. How do I ring with a password?

Eileen's Crow Cape is surely the best outfit in the game?

I'm sporting it, plus Gascoigne's Hat, Black Church gloves and White Church trousers - dude looks cool

Its like you read half a sentence

I've never seen Eileen other than at her first spot.. I am not sure how to make her appear in the other areas

2nd appearance, take the cathedral ward lamp, run straight out, and then, left around the corner. She will be standing there. Talk to her to continue her story. If she's not there, you missed out. She will be hostile later at the Grand Cathedral after you have killed Rom.

Haven't played in a while... anyone use the Reiterpallasch? I have a skill/blood character (my first file, actually) that I want to pick up again and it seems like a nice weapon for him.

So I've been helping a lot of people co-op The O
ne Reborn. If you are summoned or summon for this fight, by far the best strategy is to have both of you take a side and kill half of the maidens each. It's not a good idea to have one person kill the maidens while one fights TOR. You're taking his full aggro as well as the maiden's attacks while you wait for your partner to kill the maidens. It's much quicker and safer to take out all of the maidens first. Just see which side your partner takes and take the other. I'm tired of my beckoners dying because they thought they'd take him on alone. =P

Yeah I have no idea why people don't try to kill the maidens firs.t We always do 3 on each side.

Did this solo. Run up one side, killing maidens. Cross the bridge and kill the rest. Then fuck him up.

Yeah, definitely the way to do it if you are solo. But when people have a co-op partner a lot of people seem to think it's a better idea to have one person take out the maidens while one fights the boss. Which does not work well.

I've never seen Eileen other than at her first spot.. I am not sure how to make her appear in the other areas

In order of appearances

  1. She starts in the rafters above the aqueduct in Central Yharnam.
  2. She appears in the second spot outside the Cathedral Ward when you open the gate at the top of the stairs across from her. If you already talked to her in Central Yharnam, she'll warn you not to go to the Tomb of Odeon.
  3. The next time you encounter a loading screen, she'll move to the Tomb of Odeon. The lamp will be disabled, so you'll have to warp to a nearby one if you're in the Hunter's Dream to get to her.
  4. When the Red Moon rises, if you talked to Eileen in each of the above places, she'll be outside the Grand Cathedral. If you missed any of them, she'll be inside the cathedral.

And she attacks you.

Has anyone here tried using Beast Claws from a new character as soon as it's available? Seems like you'd need to be able to get trough Central Pthumerian to get the ritual ingredients and then go to Ailing Loran and grab the claws. All this is available as soon as you do both
Blood Starved Beast and Amygdala
, meaning you can leave plenty of story and optional bosses to do after having gotten the claws.

I did this to get a quick Chikage at level 35 but I think I can get Beast Claws even earlier.

Oh wow, I finished my first playthrough a bit higher than that.
My char builds and lvling is determine for co-op. Right now, I have a lvl 60, 75 and 85 which should cover most of the people needing help on the later bosses. I finished all the chalices with my lvl 75 and on the last boss for my lvl 85. Don't think I can do it again for the lvl 60. Too boring.

It's a great skill weapon but an offhand gun makes much better use of Bloodtinge scaling.

The fire puppy is wrecking me. Got him down to half health but so far that's the best I can do.
I honestly just kept my distance, circled around and just went in for a hit or two after he attacked and missed because I was too far away, the only thing that makes him a pain are his lunges.

Im surprised how surprising this game is.....havent seen a game still throwing twist and turns 15+ hrs in..... game is never comfortable with keeping you in a comfortable groove.

Easily the biggest surprise was the one two (three?) punch of ending up in the
clinic, turns out the nice nurse is a crazy cthulu thing, then you find an inconsequential letter that takes you to THE BIGGEST FUCKING CASTLE IVE SEEN IN YEARS filled to the brim with new enemies
absolutely crazy...the pacing in the game is incredible

Getting the Beast Claws is a colossal pain in the ass at a low level because of how much health the enemies and bosses of the Lower Pthumeru Chalice have and how much damage they do; you need Ritual Blood (4) for the Ailing Loran Chalice, so Central Pthumerian is not enough (and even Central Pthumerian can be a pain; fucking KotOL).

Chikage honestly seems like the easier option to me.

How did I end up at the unseen village!!?
I got kill by a creature close to the grand Cathedral and suddenly a cutscene appeared and I was there
... WTF and what's up with that woman crying?

You got kidnapped; you'll be stuck there until you find the lamp (Don't worry, it's pretty close to where you spawn). The woman's a nun, so she's looking for someone from the church to help her.

Ghost of Christmas Future got you ;o

Spoiler for that crying woman
If you put on full black church gear she'll actually talk to you and you can send her to cathedral.

How about the weapons? Maybe I'll go ahead and buy out everything now before I move on

Weapons will be there. But keep in mind you also keep the weapons you already own.

Honestly, if you are worried, go grind at Nightmare
of mensis 3, kill all the shadows of yharnam and pigs for like 60k souls everytime
and just buy everything.

If you're having troubles with Amygdala, may I recommend the Threaded Cane? The running R2 is amazing for hitting its head and doing a ton of damage.

Dam that's pretty cool thanks for the info!

Doesn't have to be the whole set or even that specific set. Any piece of church-related armor (Including Father Gascoigne's clothing) will get her to trust you.

oh yeah I have no probs earning echoes fast. But usually I spent my echoes on leveling up. Getting ready to fight
Ebreius
<shudder>. Every little bit helps
