Guillermo del Toro confirms he will not be collaborating with Kojima on Silent Hills

To all the people saying "I'm not gonna buy MGS5" please don't kid yourself. You are gonna buy it sooner or later.

Konami is a hollow shell of what it use to be. Silent Hills was probably the first Konami game that had me interested in a while with the combination of Kojima, Toro, and Reedus. Now that it's not happening, we can finally move on.

Nagoshi is such a pimp!

This really could be the beginning of the end of that entire company... you never see it coming, then you've got companies like Hudson, Enix who one day are just like poof later.

But I dunno. Wouldn't they just try to totally whore out their franchises before the end? Are they trying already? It's so confusing what's going on there.

Just completely crazy what's happening with Konami. They have somehow made Ubi look like the better company now.

Man, I don't even really like horror games, but I loved P.T. and was going to buy Silent Hills..

Oh well, now Konami is just a PES machine it seems.

Console Games is a small part of their real money. They can drop console games and be just fine.

Feel bad for Del Toro. Seems like he wants to make a game but he keeps getting in bed with shitty companies.

Sony or Microsoft should collaborate with him.

And also people don't seem to realize that games aren't really a part of Konami anymore and this won't mean the end of the company.

Maaan, P. T. was so promising. Just a demo and everyone I had play it thought it was awesome and incredibly frightening... Huge disappointment.

This is insane. I was looking forward to this.

Just give me MGS5, Konami, and then leave the games industry to do your slot machines and stuff. No one needs you anymore.

Was there a change in management at Konami or something? I don't understand why they're doing this.
Complete restructuring. I'm not even sure of Kojima Productions will be credited with the game, or if it'll be 'Konami Digital' or whatever

What major releases does Konami have coming out after MGS V is done?

Seriously asking.
They are hiring a team to create the next Metal Gear. At this rate I expect them to exploit this franchise like Capcom does with RE. MGS will be run into the ground because it's all they got.

So does this mean just Del Toro/Kojima version of Silent Hill is dead - or there's no new Silent Hill game at all?

The way this reads to me is that Konami is just gonna go and make their own game the way they usually do. Will probably be shit I guess

That's scarier than anything in P.T. I hate this. If it wasn't for the fact that TPP was Kojimas grand opus I wouldn't buy it. Fact of the matter is - if we don't buy it they look at it as doing the right thing since it didn't make a ton of money. If we do buy it, it reinforces their idea to make their own yearly MgS.

Where is my pick option c death wish button?

... the anger I have inside me right now.

One can always wait for used copies to show up at gamestop or other game stores before purchasing it to "support/celebrate Kojima's effort but not give Konami any money"

Eh...It's basically what you expect with how Konami has treated Silent Hill since taking it away from Team Silent.

At least there's a decent possibility that Toyama is going to end up doing a Morpheus based horror. He's expressed interest in doing a FP horror title, so Morpheus would be a natural step for that game.

Del Toro game curse is real! /s

Really though, I can't believe this isn't happening. I was excited to see this all star group of people make something (potentially) great.
