Guillermo del Toro confirms he will not be collaborating with Kojima on Silent Hills

Where the hell did you find that img? :O I don't remember nothing like that in my latest PT run.

Speaking of del Toro, has there been a trailer for Crimson Peak yet? Feel like I've seen more of the new Star Wars than his next film.

edit: never mind, found one

Wasn't that movie not being made because it wasn't "marketable"?

Plus this sucks. It was looking to be a great horror game which is rare these days.

Kojima has destroyed my brain.
I actually believe this is a PR stunt and will be announced at e3.
PT is the world's first playable teaser.
Made by a guy who just loves to mess with people.
The world's first successful video game viral campaign??

I've lost it haven't I?

Konami has lost so much by losing Kojima. They lost their biggest visionary. He had a vision and he rightfully desired to rise in the hierarchy of the company. Others felt threatened and outed him. Now what's left of the company is a broken carcass of shareholders and executives with no passion for the craft of their business. Go to hell Konami. Sell your IPs and go.

This is so heartbreaking. The PT demo was one of the most interesting and intense horror gaming experiences I've ever had and made me feel so good about owning a PS4 knowing a quality Silent Hill game was coming. And now it's not. :-/

Poe's law is strong in this one.

That Japanese business pride/honor. As many have mentioned before, it's the Capcom/Inafune situation all over again.

Once your out, you're out for life. You and everything you made doesn't exist.

It's not only in business, as a foreigner if you father children and get divorced you literally don't exist either and all your rights are gone.

It's just so ass backwards

How did The Evil Within end up selling?

Pretty well, actually. It got into the top 5 (or top 10?) of retail sales in the US. And I'm pretty sure that Bethesda said they were happy with the sales.

Wasn't that movie not being made because it wasn't "marketable"?

I think that the movie is getting made, but it's going to be PG13.

Too bad there was never a physical copy of PT.

I was talking with some people last week about how all the nostalgia I have for most of the NES-era Japanese greats is gone. They're just as bad or worse. The same sheisty companies that wouldn't let their devs be credited in games back then, are still the companies that will ruin anyone/anything for a buck, for pride or out of sheer ignorance now. Praise be to the talent and the everlasting ideas they had. I support you.

Just awful. Goddamn. We need a big budget horror game so badly and the one hope got shitcanned.

The Evil Within is gonna have to last for a bit I guess. I'm kind of done with hide and seek games after Outlast managed to make the whole concept even more tedious yet still garnered critical praise.

Bloodborne fits this nicely atm. No Im not joking. They really downplayed the horror in reviews and advertising

Bloodborne can get your pulse racing, but I don't know that it tries too hard to generate horror outside of some specific phobias. Maybe an existential crisis on those who get too into the Lovecraft aspects.

That's unfortunate; it looked very promising.

I wonder what Hideo Kojima-san's next endeavours are going to be. Best of luck to him and Konami.
