These are my questions as well. Been thinking about upgrading my 7850 to a 970. Is it worth it running a stock i5-2500k (not overclocked) at 1080p?

Thought about buying a 970 for The Witcher 3. I guess I missed that deal? Batman doesn't interest me as much.

Nice. At first newegg told me no, but I pressed a little and they sent me a code.
Now hopefully my 2 970's will actually work when I try and install them tomorrow. New Mobo, power supply and case as well.

No, I really don't mind. I saved $35 on the card from buying it on Friday and have a $20 rebate that doesn't look to be active anymore. Neither of those deals would apply if I returned and re-bought it, so I may as well just go back to the "wait for a complete edition" plan for Batman.

Honestly, A second 770 would suit you better. It's faster than a single 980gtx, and you can get one for under 230. Even if you didn't already have the Witcher, this is still a better deal.

I dunno, unless you already installed it and have it set up, returning it is pretty easy and worth it for Batman.
I used to work in customer service. I hate when people pull the "I didn't get the answer I liked so I'm just going to try again" card because I hated when people did it to me. Sure I'd rather have gotten it on the first try, but I'd also rather just not have the code instead of continuing to try in hopes of getting somebody who will say something different.
naw, you should try again because other people got their codes from them. maybe that CSR you spoke with was clueless about it. I think you're entitled to it if it's being offered to others.

Try going for the return/refund route. You bought it less than a week ago, i would assume you should be able to return it for a refund, right?

I guess now that I think about it this really isnt a reason to jump on these cards. Both of these games will be massively discounted within 6 months (if not sooner), just like the previous games in there series. I recall getting Witcher 2 and Arkam city for sub $10 within a year of release.
German websites advertise this as well, so it must be worldwide. Maybe just wait a bit for the sites to update.

Bummer. I ordered a PNY 970 from Dell.com on April 23rd and they weren't even offering just the W3 code. I had a $50 gift card and choose Dell.

not worth it then, as the gen goes on games will be using more than that 2gb, and you'll see those cards just not perform up to standard. I have a 2gb 770 also, and think it will last long enough to hold out another year, but putting them in sli would be a waste of money.
