M. Bison trailer for Street Fighter V

It's the same outfit he's always wearing. THIS is how you make new character designs:

They had to do new character designs because all of the ninjas in MK had the same design except for color.

By completely changing what a character is supposed to be?

90% of the MK redesigns are nowhere near as iconic as the first ones. Ermac isn't even a ninja anymore

Damn when i look at the trailer in details everything look great, animation is really detailled, great models, spark effects..

And yet at first glance i always find that lacking and i can't really tell what's wrong.. There is something lacking to make the game visually appealing, at least impressive to me, i'm not sure what.

Maybe the light is weird. I mean for exemple on some close up i see great looking bison hands with lots of light sources but the general shot shows a really muted, dark bison. Maybe it lacks reflection or something.

Bison looks decent. The coat is a nice addition, but I wish they had changed his look a little more. He seems a little plain compared to Charlie.

The lack of a teaser was a big disappointment.

Holy shit, Pimpson in full effect in this trailer.

Damn, I am actually getting hyped for a character I normally think of as boring. Good job.

They had to make a new design of Ermac. His original design was a palette swap of a character that had 7 other palette swaps. At least Ryu and Ken have different heads.

Bison's design is classic and should be one of the last ones to change when redesigning veterans.

It was just the first image result in google.... there are so many examples.

Look at Paul from Tekken 3 to Tekken 4 getting a rugged look. You see his style change that reflect in his personality where he's dealing with depression and his ego getting the best of him. Look at Ling Xiaoyu go from Tekken 3 to Tekken 4 where she matures a lot more, evolving the characters without even needing to narrate it.

I need LI Joe to analyze this frame by frame, since I can't make sense of anything in this trailer. What's that orange stuff for example?

Aw man I hope they implement special intros in the final game, I think they missed a little opportunity there.

still I never liked Bison until now, he looks really cool!

(Where is the DLC costumes?! lol)

Looking ace! :D

Love the new boots to face moves, and all that fireball reflect play. The new teleports look hella fast too.

I said gaht damn!

Psycho Crusher outta no where! Looking good, interested in the grey hair. Definitely down for other updated designs, saw an older Sakura mentioned here. That's a good place to start.

I'm still wondering whether or not they're eventually going to treat this as a SF3 style shake-up and just introduce a boatload of newcomers.

Looked like an after effect of him activating his "Psycho Power". Seems to add extra hits/effects at the end of his special moves. Psycho Power seems to be his version of those water/electricity power ups that Chun-Li and Ryu have.

But he has grey hair

He has grey hair which tells us he might be back in a human body that actually ages. Charlie got a new design as well to show that he actually died and is likely a zombie being controlled by someone.

First one. Singular, because they were all the same

And we'll have to disagree because current ermac looks better to me than a cheap motion capture ninja from the early nineties.

This iconic argument is the worst... Look what Tekken fans have to deal with now. Hwoarang went from:

to

to what we've been seeing from the last 11 years:

That's his exact same character art from Tekken 5, Tekken DR, Tekken 6, Tekken Bloodline Rebellion, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, and now Tekken 7. That's the same thing from 2004 to 2015 and it's just lazy. Iconic is a BS argument that Namco resorts to in order to avoid actually putting some work in. Characters in fighting games should evolve.

More like this is how you make new character designs:

This too. SNK knows what's up.

I know people in this forum have a tendency to defend their favorite shit no matter what, but SF could use some fresh designs for its old stable.
