Finn Bálor vs. Hideo Itami vs. Tyler Breeze (NXT Championship No. 1 Contender's Triple Threat Match)

Well uh...this is the advertised match but Hideo recently suffered an injury and is out 6-8 months so I guess this is just 1 on 1? Regardless, Balor and Breeze are both great talents so this will be a very entertaining match.

NXT Women's Championship: Sasha Banks vs. Becky Lynch

Sasha's been on fire since winning the women's title a few months ago and is sure to put on a great match with Becky "TMF" Lynch.

NXT Tag Team Championship: Blake & Murphy vs. Enzo Amore & Colin Cassady

Much to everyone's surprise, Blake and Murphy are still the tag champs, they're both good in the ring so it's nice to see them getting an opportunity. Enzo and Cass are still ridiculously over, but there's a roughly 92 percent chance that Carmella costs them the match in some way.

Charlotte & Bayley vs. Emma & "The Total Diva" Dana Brooke

Emma's been chewed up and spit out by the main roster and is taking it out on Bayley, meanwhile Dana's mad at Charlotte over a Tapout commercial, not the best build. But regardless Dana has improved tremendously since her debut and this should still be a cool match.

NXT Championship: Kevin "Butterbean" Owens vs. Sami "Daniel Bryan" Zayn

This match almost didn't happen because Sami was injured during his raw appearance, but it seems like this match is still on, Zayn and Owens put on a great match on the last special and there's no reason not to expect a repeat performance.

And old! (I think) I got an email telling me to re-sub for the free month, and it doesn't charge until 6/1. (Which I'll happily do for MITB + the previous 3 PPV events.) Dunno if that was a targeted offer though.

As of right now, the Cena/Owens match is non-title.

But then again, so was the first Zayn/Owens match before shenanigans came into play.

It will be interesting to see Owens on Raw next week to build up to his match with Cena.

Sweet merciful Jack Tunney, yes. NXT specials have been consistently better than most WWE PPVs for a while now.

I really don't want Owens on the main roster any time soon, simply so he can drop the extra weight before going to the main roster, where it'll be much more difficult.

Joe looks fantastic, and I bet that's not even his final form.

No way it isn't for the title. The entire thing with Cena since Mania is that he defends the title in every match. Why would Owens settle for anything less than a title match? I see Owens refusing to wrestle if it isn't for the title.

Except he already is? I mean, he might not stay there, but Owens is already being buried on the main roster by John Cena.

Owens stomped on the US Title and said that his NXT title was more important, so that could be why.

Then again, Owens is a liar and he pulled the same refusal to wrestle unless it was for the title before he signed his contract to face Sami Zayn.

EC is being targeted at the (older) NXT audience as an experiment. He's being thrown up there, but it's a non-title match to help sell the PPV, since the subs roll over on June 1st and they don't want people to unsub.

(Given that they could swap the title back at MITB, I wouldn't rule out them swapping it onto Dean here for a short-term test run to help maintain subs.)

Didn't Finn already win a #1 contender's match a while ago? I think it was against Neville, granted I haven't been keeping up with NXT.

Still think they should debut Samoa Joe as Joey Uso and give that other Uso a tag panther while the other one is out hurt.

Also I feel like I should like Becky Lynch more then I do. Girl is just missing something.

Balor vs Breeze should be moty caliber.


I do wonder what the future is for Breeze. He is ready for the main roster, but not a lot of room and other nxt stars have seemingly passed him. I wouldn't mind him getting a run with the belt if Owens goes up permanently.

agreed. Would be a good time to turn them heel too.

Joe doesn't belong in nxt. He's probably the last wrestler who could ever make a straight jump after Sting, but I doubt they do that.

I just marathoned the last three episodes of NXT so I could watch the PPV live tonight. I love Alexa Bliss. She needs more screen time.

It was a good match, but Finn/Neville and the women's F4W topped it.

They just wrote off Itami from the show with him getting "jumped" in the parking lot in the pre show.

So far they say it's going to be a singles match.

Looks like they're ready to bring up both Zayn and Owens since they both appeared in RAW. Can see Owens squashing Zayn again, letting Zayn keep his underdog status and Owens remains a monster.

Also Baron Corbin zzz. That guy is so boring.
