Koji Igarashi Kickstarts Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night (2.5D, backdash, 2018)

Speaking of GBA Vania I just reached Drac in circle of the moon.
First form was an elaborate bluff to lower my guard for the shit kicking his final form is giving me, and by shit kicking I mean how do I avoid these incredibly damaging meteors outside blind luck?!

Watch this walk-through (starting about 3 hours and 17 minutes in) and see if it offers any help for you. The key is staying calm and making as few movements as possible rather than wild dashes and shit.

The songs yamane made in lament of innocence and curse of darkness were amazing and they werent rehashed vania songs.100% confident she's gonna tear it up

Definitely spoiling in terms of sound quality, but the music is just ripped from Rondo. I've started the game recently (like 5 days ago) and initially found the music to be pretty good. But the lack of variety in the number of tracks has definitely taken its toll. The music is still good, just as more and more time passes I get more and more appreciation for Symphony of the Night's OST.

I think Rondo's soundtrack was appropriate (great even) for a sidescroller of it's day. But then SotN needed more music due to it's nature as a Metroidvania, and they delivered in spades. SotN spoiled you.

And then Circle of the Moon (a GBA launch game) opened with this bold statement of "I can keep up with the best music of CD games like Rondo and SotN" and people's jaws hit the floor (even though that particular track was straight ripped from Rondo). And then the GBA proved itself horribly unsuited to keeping up that pace, and Harmony of Dissonance stepped in and said "Can we go back to 8-bit please? We're kind of dying here."

I see nothing in the description suggesting there will be an orchestral version of the soundtrack for Bloodstained, at ANY price. A CD copy of the game music soundtrack? Yes. A fully orchestrated version of it? No.

I must be close if the eyeball bats stage is the last bit, just got to not bugger up my evading of that warping dash attack.

Can I just say while the various card abilities are neat and all, screw these drop rates, I've only got about half of the things.
Well If I get desperate it's card grind time, though I think I'll tough it out as funky as summons sound.

There is an exploit in the game where if you activate a card, then pause during the activation animation, then switch to another card combo even one you don't have either card for, you can still use that card combination.

Mighty No. 9 is $30 at retail. I can't see this game not also being $30 as both a digital game and a retail game.
Ah, whoops. I guess $30 is possible then, though I can see $60 and $40 may well be the sweet spot between profit and seeming like a good value for Bloodstained.

And the fact the distributor is Square Enix for MN9 in NA just makes this all the more surreal. Doubly so if Deep Silver is the secret publisher of Bloodstained.

Sorry if this is common knowledge already, but I'm new to this kickstarter thing and I have a few questions:

- Are physical rewards only an USA/Europe thing or do they send it to any country? If so, do I have to pay any taxes and/or shipping?
- You're only charged when the project is successfully funded, right? So if I make a pledge I'll have to pay for it in July, right?

I believe they ship anywhere, but it does come with an extra cost which they state. As for taxes... well, I suppose it would depend on the destination and whether or not it has a strict import policy?

Yes, you'll only get charged once the campaign ends, however, I do believe that's on the 11th or 12th of June and not July.

I'll be seriously annoyed if 1.- there's no such stretch goal or if 2.- they put it far beyond what the KS can gross (seems like it's winding down a lot). This would be more important to me than the game itself to be honest.

Wii U port confirmed:

Let the cheering and gnashing of teeth commence. :P

The good news is, it won't: IGA and Inti Creates are going to continue developing the game as before, without compromise.

The really good news is how they're going to ensure it won't: At our next stretch goal Armature Studio will join the fray to handle the Wii U version.

Well it's being done after the fact so don't care!

And for anyone asking, Inti Creates is not going to be handling the Wii U port themselves. They have Armature Studio lined up for that task.

Armature (the ex-Retro Studio guys, Arkham Origins Blackgate) is handling the port. :o

How did the Wii U port of that game turn out? It's a different engine (Bluepoint's engine they made for PSASBR, IIRC), but that should give some kind of indication for what to expect.

Now everyone who was insisting the Wii U port would hurt development of the main game can stop.

Crazy how the language in this email is virtually identical to the language of what I and others have been saying the whole time.

Armature is a fantastic choice.

No one knew for sure so people being cautious is fine. :P

Yeah, this is a good compromise. It doesn't detract from Inti's effort, while providing people with another option to play the game. I wonder how many people are going to get this version on retail on 2017 though.

Um, wasn't the basement key supposed to show us all the stretch goals in the basement..?

Yeah, it's odd. They've updated the backer unlocks to show it's unlocked, but the update didn't mention it and the castle hasn't been updated to show the entire basement.

Oh hey look, its almost like IGA and his crew knew what they were doing and were neither incompetent nor liars when they said they didn't want to compromise the game whilst allowing the maximum number of people enjoy it. Imagine that :P :)

Now everybody wins!

Bloodstained Amiibos when? #Kappa

Um, wasn't the basement key supposed to show us all the stretch goals in the basement..?

Yeah, what's this all about with some dungeon goals still obscured by shadows?

Not sure how I feel about a Wii U port to be honest. Then again, it's not like this type of game was going to push the PC, PS4, or XB1 so maybe I'm worrying for nothing.

Edit: Looks like I have nothing to worry about. :D

I don't see why you should be feeling bad about it. They're handing it off to an entirely different studio, and while I doubt they're going to be totally hands-off with it, they've already said that development on the previously announced versions won't be affected by this port's existence.

Prospects are good for the Wii U version. Glad this is moving along nicely, now I have to decide if I should Wii U it or not.

Having a respectable, separate team handle the wiiu port is the best possible option for those folks. Grats nintendudes.
