Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

Are they considered to be good? I personally thought that they kind of messed up many aspects of the Metal Gear HD Collection. The framerate keeps dropping in MGS3, and many features were removed (although that might not be their fault).
Hmm? What did they remove from MGS3?

lack of MP is crappy but i'm open to hearing what theyre going to do with uncharted 1 because it's the one that has aged the worst in just about every category.

If no MP, then what's the point for us double dipping then? I guess those who never played it are happy about this. Also no Golden Abyss :\ Alright then

Developed by Bluepoint Games.

Not quite sure if I will have time to play this with Halo 5 et al on the horizon. But, this is a definite pickup, one month before the next Uncharted comes out in 2016.
You have like 20 days no? ;) always time for drake and chief. <3

Goddamnit, was this announced now because of the Playstation Store leak? So many announcements pre-E3.

I'm not sure that remastered collection is the kind of thing that should be deemed a major announcement, even if it is for generally well-received games.

Ooooooooohhhh! Additions, eh? I hope this means UC3 gets Cheats and Skins like it should have had from the beginning. It feels so incomplete content-wise compared to UC2. It could have so much more replayability if they throw in the Cheats -- would love to play as Sully through the campaign, for example.

I'm very disappointed multiplayer isn't in. But I guess it was either one UC multiplayer and disappoint a section of the community or no MP at all and just UC4 MP Beta. I hope the UC4 MP Beta is long, like maybe a month? UC3 had that month-early Subway promo which was sort of a beta and that helped the game out immensely. And UC3's actual beta was maybe like a week or two, I think? I can't quite remember it's been so long...

Still, I would have loved to see UC2 MP at 60 FPS. It's pretty disappointing but I guess it would be impossible to fit everything on one BD with even just one of the games MP. I hope then the content they're adding to each game is significant even to those who played all three on PS3.

Definitely going to pre-order ASAP, though.

The team at Bluepoint Games is incomparable regarding their portfolio of achievements and remastered releases, and we’ve been working closely with them to bring over our engine to make Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection an exemplary game.

That means not only allowing you to play the single-player campaigns of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception in 1080p and 60fps with better lighting, textures, and models, but they’re also working on a range of improvements and additions across all three games.

Nice.

Bluepoint sealed that deal.

If no MP, then what's the point for us double dipping then? I guess those who never played it are happy about this. Also no Golden Abyss :\ Alright then

My PS3 is in the closet, permanently retired, and I've never finished Uncharted 2 or played Uncharted 3.

Also, 1080p/60fps is totally worth double-dipping for, as it was for The Last of Us. Actually, the increased resolution and framerate will benefit Uncharted's setpiece heavy action even better than it did TLoU.

Wonder if they looked at the catastrophe that was the Master Chief collection and thought: "You know what: Let's focus on a single MP package."

Probably mostly just to fit it all onto a single disc.

Think it has way more to do with them not wanting a Halo MCC disaster on their hands and the fact that it comes with the UC4 MP.

People buy this and want to play multiplayer UC means they have no choice but to play the beta which inevitably leads to more copies of UC4 sold (assuming the beta goes over well). Prepatch UC2 was honestly some of the best MP all of last gen so its just disappointing.

why are bluepoint so revered? just curious
Check out what they did with the Ico and SotC collection - its insane what they had to pick up apart (obscure Japanese Linux distros) to get at the source code when they remastered it

I cant think of a game theyve ported where they havent done a very good job

ps3ud0 8)

where are you guy's getting the no multiplayer from? i dont see it

Seems pretty clear.

No multi is a mistake for customers, and a win for Bluepoint and Sony. It's a shame but I guess it was more than could be well delivered. I'll pick this up, but not at near full price.

This collection makes me a little salty about the God Of War remaster being only 3. Would have been better to at least include Ascension for a value add, if not the actually 1-3.

If you haven't played UC before now, don't hesitate---buy it. Keep in mind, side by side, UC1 isn't nearly as strong as the sequels.

Those jet ski mechanics were...uh...a little rough.

Doughnut Drake unlocked from the beginning and available in all games plz. Also add Doughnut versions of all the other characters.

I'm excited for this, it's been a while since I played them and I only got a little bit into 3. I'm interested in seeing what the other changes they're working on are.

The only thing I don't know about is the fact they'll be introducing a bunch of new people to the franchise with 60fps games, then dropping the sequel at 30fps months later. Gonna feel totally different.

Are they targeting 60fps for U4's MP maybe?

Will defo pick this up right in between Halo 5 and Mgs V, perfect timing. Only Fallout 4 can stop me from buying this, if that is released around the same time.

Glorious!

In BluePoint I trust.

This is my favourite series (along with God of War) so I'm truuuly hyped.

No MP is not even a deal breaker.

Gimme that 1080p/60fps Drake goodness

Holy shit they could fit all three games on one disc?

Also Bluepoint? Definite buy once it becomes cheap enough.

Hmm? What did they remove from MGS3?

Anything that was on disc 2, which included the secret theater, the Ape Escape minigame (which wasn't going to make the leap with it being multiplatform), and MGO1 (which, in that case, has had its severs long shut down). They also removed the Guy Savage nightmare minigame from the main game, citing an issue with that game's engine being too much of a mess to work on with the time they had.

That being said, it's still a really good port. It runs far better than the original game ever did even at its best moments, and the increased resolution does wonders to accentuate the great work that KojiPro did in the first place.

What did the UC2 patch fuck up exactly? People were hoping for the multiplayer for UC2 -- but specified that it would have had to be pre-patch, why?
