Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

I am not sure if I want to double dip, I mean I love the games but I have other things I want to play. I also have no interest in replaying Uncharted 1 really.

Any MP info for 2 and 3 yet?
No MP. It's on the boxart.
The third game is the only one I've played all of the way through and I thought it was great. XD I got to the Himalayas in the second game, and barely touched the first game.

If what you say is true, then I am excite.

U3 was my favorite out of all of them. 2 was fantastic and 1 was great. I didn't like Golden Abyss much.

Yep, buying solely for the U4 MP beta. I got over 60 hours worth of fun with U3's, so I will gladly pay retail price if it is as good as that. Oh I guess having the three uncharted games on PS4 is a nice bonus.

I can't even begin to understand the hype in this thread for this very reason coupled with the lack of mp.

1) Some people have played only some or none of the Uncharted games
2) Not everyone is guaranteed to keep their PS3
3) There will be noticeable improvements in these versions
4) There are three games in this package. Three.
5) The age of a game means relatively little when, as I said, some people have not played these titles; even for those who have played these games, experiencing a game again can be wonderful. It's no different than when I bought the Doom BFG collection because I love those games and wanted to have them on my PS3. What improvements did that collection have for two games that are two decades old? Practically none. Whereas with this collection will include relatively recent games and still manage to implement discernible changes.

Very excited. However, I was really shocked this isn't a November release, and is instead October. Sony really must have a big holiday game to announce at E3.

More likely they just dont want this game getting lost in the November madness. Its a collection of games, not a new hit. I guess tearaway could come in November, but that would be sending it to die.

Lots of people talking about no multiplayer. The announcement didn't say that so I'm wondering where was this mentioned? Is it confirmed?

Most of my collections from PS3 are three packed in. Not sure what you're talking about.

God of War Collection
God of War Origins Collection
MGS HD collection (this was a $50 launch price but includes 3 games not 2, I forgot about peace walker my bad)
ICO & SOTC collection
Silent HIll Collection
And then many standalone remasters priced at $20.

The 3 game collections launching at $39.99 were a minority as far as I recall. But anyways, I can understand someone who played a lot of MP having an issue with the price because to them most of the the value of the game is over there, whereas to me, the value of the game is in the SP, and since this includes that. It makes the pricepoint fine, especially because I consider $20 per game to be fine.

Will they fix gameplay as well? Uncharted 1 had some control issues and Uncharted 3 some annoying parts (ship cemetery). Uncharted 2 can be left untouched.

Was hoping for UC3 multiplayer but still, fucking bought.

Honestly UC2 multiplayer was a step above UC3 in pretty much every single way. UC2 online was pure simplified brilliance, as for UC3 it got caught up in the ''features'' horseshit and ending up a bloated mess. The sooner devs realise that sometimes less is more when it comes to online the better.

Yeah, I expect a lot of surprise at how dated Uncharted 1 actually is. As far as shooting mechanics go, they were merely passable for 2007. We've come a long way in 8 years. Hell, Naughty Dog came a long way in 2 years, with Uncharted 2.

Uncharted 1's setpieces are pretty weak, too. The environmental traversal is basic as fuck. Uncharted 1 was neat at the time, but now it just feels like an ancient relic... One that Drake would go on a hunt to dig up.

Hmmm it definitely hasn't aged the greatest.

But man that game captured my imagination in 2007 when the PS3 release schedule was a wasteland.

Maybe BluePoint have done a shit ton of work to improve graphics and shooting mechanics in the first game.

Right into my veins!

Would have liked some form on MP, but yeah like some people said, they probably don't want it to take away from U4's MP or don't want a potential MCC situation on their hands.

The box art literally says "Single Player Campaigns for all Three Games".

Well yeah, but that doesn't mean no multiplayer. That's a sales message highlighting the most important parts of uncharted titles.

Is this another situation where GAF blows up for no reason?

SHOCKING.

Protip for UC newbies buying this, skip UC1. It's pretty bad.

Don't tell people to not play UC1. They can play it and decide if they want to stop.

UC1 has a fun charming atmosphere of being stuck on an island with sassy protagonists. The gameplay is missing its sequel improvements but it's still arguably a fun romp despite bullet sponge enemies.

The quote on the blog post implies no MP. It said something like "Not only will you get the singleplayer in 1080p/60fps, you'll get more tweaks and etc etc etc". Implies we're only getting singleplayer. I feel like if we were getting the MP, they would have said so in the post.

I don't own those apart from MGS HD but I get your point. Mostly my issue is, some of the most fun I had with Uncharted were the coop missions. That's like 70% of the games to me

This collection is probably really good for people who switched to PS4 from 360.

For me? I'm debating whether to get it or not. I must have played UC2 and 3 SP probably a dozen times already. I know the single player in and out. Not sure if 60fps is enough of a draw for me to plunk down $60.

Only thing that is swaying me is the U4 beta.

1. Uncharted collection with Uncharted 3 multiplayer? Day 1. Would have probably preordered already.

2. Uncharted collection with no multiplayer but a beta for U4? Ehhh, I'll wait till they announce how long the beta is for and when it is. Might get the collection for cheap.

It definitely seems so

That means not only allowing you to play the single-player campaigns of Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception in 1080p and 60fps with better lighting, textures, and models, but they’re also working on a range of improvements and additions across all three games.

We put together the list of these improvements and additions based on countless forum posts, messages, Tweets, and even through personal conversations we’ve had with a number of you over the years. More on these specifics in future updates.

Never had a PS3, but was always interested in these games so this is a no-brainer for me. Don't care about the missing multiplayer. I never touched the MP of TLOU:R either.

While I enjoyed both UC2 and 3 MP, my preference was actually 3. To be fair, I do feel like they messed UC2 up with 1.05 which is part of the reason why I preferred UC3 in the long run. I just loved how it felt and the new additions added some variety to the matches that UC2 lacked. Just my opinion, though.

I rented the first one and bought both 2 and 3. I wouldn't mind owning this. I wonder when the pre-order will go up. It' fantastic, but I wonder if we'll see a time slot for this at E3. I would love to replay 2 again.

U2 was one of the best games I had played in a very long time.

This is weird, I feel like I'll be more likely to buy it if there is no MP. I won't feel like I'm missing anything or feel a need to get PS+. No multiplayer would be bad though, UC2's MP was so good.

So confirmed that nobody actually said that and we're all freaking out for no reason.

GAF gonna GAF.

This is a problem. You could buy all three games brand new, with multiplayer but without the remastered stuff for that and still have change. That is not good.
What the hell does that mean? I can buy all three Gears of War games for like $8. So the remaster of that series can't cost more than $8 right, or else we'd have change left over!
