Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection announced, October 9th, UC4 MP beta access

Yeah, I never had any problem with the campaigns. Some people did though but I wonder if they were playing co-op or not. Anyways, it shouldn't even be compared with this collection. MCC had 4 games, 100 MP maps(correct me if I'm wrong) combined from all games with probably 7 Halo 2 remade maps, Halo 2 is actually a remake and not a remaster, Halo 5 MP beta and finally fuck tons of MP modes. It's just a shame that 343 outsourced that shit or it would have been such a top notch release but oh well, they fixed a ton of the MP problems and for the most part works great now. Just less than a week they added ODST which is for free for those that had the game within the first month, 5$ expansion if not. Not to mention all games have split-screen + online co-op with only the first two games being 2 players, the rest are all 4 players.

All that for 40$. It's not even in the same league as the Nathan Drake collection lol. Anyways, what I am most interested in seeing is UC1 even though I'm not going to buy this collection.

Wait, what? I thought MCC was $60?

According to trophies, 25.9% of Uncharted 2 players completed a competative game while only 14.3% finished a co-op game.

Uncharted 3 fared better than that, with 25.9% of players again finishing competative, and 20.7% finishing a co-on match.

Using the SP trophies and since the difficulties stack up we know at least 44.5% and 34.8% players finished UC2 and 3 respectively. The percentages here might be wrong because some consoles are offline and those aren't counted.
And if they're offline I'd doubt they've played the multiplayer.

How long could you reasonably expect that MP beta to last?
Their other ones have been 2 weeks with 2-3 maps. I wonder if the volumetric smoke from grenades will show up in UC3. It was in the beta but cut from the launch release because it murdered the framerate.

Campaigns didn't work 100% fine at release. But even if you want to compare the value, there isn't as many Uncharted games as Halo, unless you wanted a port if Abyss.

Sure then it shouldn't be 60$ is all I am saying. Or maybe one the first game remastered or something. This is just 1080p/60fps bump.

No multiplayer? I think I'll pass then. I loved the first two Uncharted games, but not enough to pay close to $90 Canadian to replay them when I still have the PS3 versions.

I cant afford this, and cant justify it since I played both UC2 and UC3 twice.

But it's the MP beta I want. Despite hating how ruined both UC2 and UC3 MP felt, I was a fan throughout, and I just want to see what they do this time around.

I am expecting the platforming/combat to be a focus that is incredibly polished and refined, but I'm also hoping they go back to arena-styled MP with equal loadouts. I desperately want them to do this, as LoU gave me hope that they were determined to do something less cookie cutter, avoiding kickbacks and leveled boosters and overdone loadout customization.

I hope prices aren't too expensive for the MP beta, which I'll just buy separately from GAF's BST thread.

I guess we wont have a beta during summer :(

Sixty dollars?!

LOLOLOLOLOLOL

Good luck with that. Now, if they'd tossed in The Last of Us complete and called it the "Naughty Pack", then maybe...

Well here's a person who doesn't know anything about console game pricing. Not sure why this is so funny to you

I didn't get into Uncharted 2 multiplayer till after Patch 1.04. From what I understand, Patch 1.04 decreased players health? (making it closer to Call of Duty)

No, patch 1.04 was before they did that. Patch 1.05 is when they increased bullet damage. That's why people loved 1.04 because the original damage values were better -- you had more "health" to retaliate and climb (climbing being a big thing in Uncharted MP). UC2 wasn't a twitch shooter like CoD but ND were trying to appeal to that crowd with Patch 1.05. :/

Patch 1.04 is also well before they had made spawn point tweaks which further ruined the multiplayer -- patch 1.06 they dropped spawn point adjustments because of the increased damage/lower health and this is when the playlist Plunder became unplayable. You could spawn camp and win Plunder games successfully where before it wasn't possible. Plunder then became an unplayable mess and still is to a degree in 1.09 (the last patch the game got).

Sad thing is, in UC3 beta they had everything damage and health-wise working like UC2 and it was amazing but in the final game they went backwards again and lowered health and unified leg and torso hitboxes. Meaning, even if you shoot someone in the legs they take the same damage as if you shot them in the torso.

I know Master Chief Collection was broken as hell, but at least the price was supergood:

-Halo 1
-Halo 2
-Halo 3
-Halo 4
-ODST
-Multi
-Halo 5 Beta

with a price launch of 60€

This collection seems just poor compared to MCC, at least they should throw Golden Abyss in.

Well MCC does indeed have an amazing amount of content. But that doesn't mean that every game that doesn't offer the exact same amount of content isn't worth the price.

I paid $60 for Dragon Age Inuisition, a game that took me around 75 hours to beat once. I also paid $60 for Bayonetta 2, a game that took me like 9 hours to beat once and yet I was absolutely happy with my purchase.

Not to mention that the large amount of content in the MCC is probably one of the main reasons why it launched with so many issues. Multiplayer was broken for a long time, split screen has horrible performance on all games and there is really no reason why a dated looking game like Halo 1 has constant drops to low 50´s and sometimes even mid 40´s fps

Also, while technically it still counts, wasn't ODST only added for free as a way to make up for how broken the whole thing was?

Why did they even bother with the first game?

UC 1 -> UC 2 was second only to AC -> AC II in terms of in-series improvements.

Because while it's not as good as UC2 and 3, many people still consider it a fun game.
Also, much like TLOU remaster, a part of the target audience for this remaster is going to be people that didn't own a Ps3 and they probably want to play the whole trilogy.

If people buy it at $60 what gives? I as well as others that see less value in it can wait for a price drop. I will. It's not really hard.

I wonder if some kind of free MP given away for PSN+ will be in the future. Didn't they eventually put out U3 MP for free or like 10 bucks after U3 was out for a while?

I know I would prefer it being $40, but I love the games enough to buy the collection for $60. To be honest I won't miss the multiplayer, though I think the U4 MP beta could possibly make up for it.

And if they're offline I'd doubt they've played the multiplayer.
Yes, though one should also note that trophy sync on PS3 was manual so maybe some people never opened their trophies. (plausible but no idea how it alters whatever statistics)

They basically broke the game completely, the lower health meant people died too quickly and in some maps and modes this meant that you would very frequently spawn on other players or near turtled enemies dying pretty quickly only for it to happen again and again.

Everyone assumes no multiplayer but is it explicitly said, or just extrapolated from the blog post that doesn't mention it?

I'll be sad if there's no coop, though.

(I need coffee)

To me, this speaks pretty hightly of Sony's E3 conference, because this could have been held as filler.

Though certainly it'll have a presence, they didn't feel the need to save it as part of their announcements.

I smell TLG

yeah i mean the super mario bros. collection cartridges seemed so poor compared to the 101-in-1 game cartridges back in famicom era.

The box says single-player campaigns only.

No MP. Been said numerous times that it only included single player campaigns, including on the box art. Obviously they aren't going to use "no multiplayer" wording, as they'd rather say what's THERE than what's NOT there..

I guess I'm one of the few that thought Uncharted 1 was great. It's also more consistant in quality throughout, and better paced than U3 at least. The supernatural element were also best in 1 I think.

Probably the one I'm looking forward to the most in seeing in improved form.

I still have Uncharted 2 and 3, as well as my PS3, so I think I'll be skipping this one.

Also I don't have a PS4

The main benefit I see from this collection is that UC2 multiplayer will be populated once again. That was a damn good game. I would almost consider getting it just for that.
