Dark Souls III leaked info and screenshots [RUMOR - Better Details Write-Up]

No, it's not.
Microsoft already confirmed it was bullshit, and "billions of dollars" and "80% complete"... no.

They themselves talked about their skepticism about the price tag and development precentage, both n the video and their post-video podcast. But they stated that they trust their source and debated for awhile before posting that video. Their source told them this news an entire week before they released the video because they were so conflicted on rather to report it or not. They went into detail in their Podcast on why they ultimately decided to believe it.

People are giving them way too much shit for this, they made a judgement call and guess what... it can still end up being true, you never know. Microsoft (and other companies) claiming a rumor wasn't true when it actually is is nothing new. Bottom line is, you cannot trust companies like Microsoft anymore than you can game journalists.

Yeah. I remember David Jaffe saying he wasn't working on a new Twisted Metal for PS3. But who knows.

About the sword arts.

Maybe Rush means Bloodborne style fast combat with maybe a way to get health back, and Circle means 'Souls style shield using?

How cool would that be?!

I'm not giving them shit, just saying that i think it's bullshit, and believe me, few people would want it to be true more than me, since Silent Hill is my top series by a landslide.

Oh man, It looks beautiful. Will pre-order physical and digital to play it on count zero.
I need FromSoft in my life.

I doubt Miyazaki is directing. Bloodborne came out not long ago.

You don't make a high profile game in 2 months. Someone else is definitely directing, and this game would have been in development for a year.

They have 2 teams, it's not impossible to imagine the team that worked on Dark Souls 2 getting instructions from him while he was working on Bloodborne and after Bloodborne wrapped up sometime before release he passed to work full time in this.

Speculation of course but It's not THAT impossible.

It's not like he'll be coding or doing any of the grunt work - once the conceptual stuff is out of the way, Miyazaki probably settles into a supervisory role, setting and maintaining the tone/direction of the titles.

PC is my main platform for Souls now simply because From Software has proven it can't optimize console games worth a damn. Demon's Souls is still my favorite Souls game so far (haven't played BB yet), but I'd like to have the choice of PC whenever possible.

Its not hard to believe hes directing two games. Wasnt Nomura originally directing 15 and KH3?

It depends a lot on what "director" means. The Japanese system for attribution in game development roles can be pretty vague, especially around the senior positions.

Based on interviews and Design Works I've always been given the impression that Miyazaki is more akin to a "Creative Director" or a "Lead Designer" than a "Product Manager" or "Producer", in which case it's not only quite possible for him to work on more than one project, but almost a given that he would be done with most of his work on a project several months before it's officially released.

An online game doesn't wrap up before release. It's done a month or months after for post-launch support.

And you don't just switch directors half way just because. That's terrible for the team if that happened, and Dark Souls 2 already had two different directors on it with Miyazaki only supervising.

The fatigue is setting in :{

They've been able to pump out consist dark fantasy games before. They were able to pump out Shadow Tower, Eternal Ring, and King's Field IV one after the earlier. All three followed very similar formulas with gameplay.

To be fair, I am not hyped myself. But that's because I remember Dark Souls II.

In my case I don't feel it's fatigue... I just am not very impressed at all. Nothing in there looks like a new interesting place to explore outside that one shot of the molten wasteland. Everything else is twilight and brown. No really crazy enemy designs or new weapons either. It's like the opposite of the awesome leaked Bloodborne trailer.

On the plus side the concept art is more promising.

Looks pretty good but my question is:

15 new bosses?

What does this mean, 15 bosses is just what the game has, or do old ones return and the total count is higher?
15 seems low to me :O

Also lol at the PC comment its a really bad it sold million + for DS1 PC and DS2 even higher.
And that is really really good so yeah very strange.

That's almost certainly lower than the number we'll actually get, unless the bosses all have increased depth across the board to go with that one comment about them "heating up".

Given that it'll release in '16 the graphics look quite good. The art direction reminds me more of Bloodborne dark wet setting than a high fantasy medieval one.

Can't wait to see gameplay!

"New" area? that worded weird, its new game so its given isn't it? or we can visit old area in previous game? I don't understand

I know people hate downgrade talk, and I am not referring to details like "the LOD got more aggressive in the final release" - I just hope there's no major downgrade like we saw in Dark Souls 2. I don't think I could accept that level of bullshit.

Here's hoping the combat and hitboxes are on point, and encounter and level/world design is on par with Bloodborne and not Dark Souls 2.

Cautiously optimistic.

If this is next-gen only, there should be no reason to downgrade anything significantly.

What I've seen in Bloodborne actually looks nicer to me than these shots, so assuming this isn't coming on last-gen's consoles I think these graphics are pretty believable.

ya the wording is strange. it even says new enemy placements.... I kinda wonder if it takes place in areas of the first dark souls after some time has passed.

It's an event that happen in the Berserk manga (a source that FROM seems to love to reference) in which Demons appear in the world for the
birth of a new member of the God Hand / Dark Lord

It's an amazing and incredible twisted event, just look at this:

Now compare that with this:

H.Y.P.E.!.

!!!!

I did =3 but never expect that the Sun / Eclipse was going to be referenced in this.

EDIT: wait, you are here... the leak is real!!!

Eclipse... in a Dark Souls game...

Shit hits the fan. That's all you need to fucking know.

God dammit Miyazaki, just make a Berserk game, don't tease us.

I'd read that as Miyazaki's last Dark Souls game. He's expressed interest in doing other types of games like more mech titles again.

Dark Souls itself is a huge cash cow so they're not stopping this train.

I'd love to see sth. else as well (i.e. Cybersouls), especially different settings.

It sounds like the game might be smaller than 2, probably a good thing, they clearly couldn't manage all those areas equally but still the game felt really huge in a good way.

Well, we know that he didnt worked on the Chalice Dungeons himself and those are a big part of the game (albeit optional) and also this:
It's not like he'll be coding or doing any of the grunt work - once the conceptual stuff is out of the way, Miyazaki probably settles into a supervisory role, setting and maintaining the tone/direction of the titles.
