My only worry and wish for Forza 6 is that I hope T10 carry over some or all of the tracks from F5, particularly nurburgring. I want new tracks and locations for sure but I skipped out on F5.
I can pretty much guarantee that if it was laser-scanned it will be in Forza 6.
That includes:
- Road America
- Bathurst
- Spa
- Silverstone
- Nurburgring
- Long Beach
- Prague
For sure, I don't exactly remember what other tracks were laser-scanned.
Improvements during a generation come from a combination of better tools from the platform holder, and better familiarity from the developers with the hardware. That shouldn't be surprising.
What is surprising for me is the specific xbox talk around DX12. I'm sure it brings some meaningful improvements for PC, although seemingly of more benefit for lower performance CPUs - I'm not sure how big the benefits will be for higher end gaming rigs. But for xbox, the drivers should have been efficient from the start. If they weren't, then we will see meaningful improvements, but it does also mean that the drivers until now have been immature.
One interesting thing for me is the gap between xbox and PS4. Current games seem to illustrate a performance gap that is roughly correct for the difference in hardware. So *if* there are significant improvements coming to xbox from driver updates, then that does suggest that there are similar improvements possible on PS4. Whether Sony can leverage that I don't know, but it'll be interesting to see.
As far as the CPU is concerned the Xbox One drivers are not efficient as they can be with DX12.
The Xbox One was built with DX12 in mind and Turn 10 helped in designing the Xbox One hardware.
