pretty sure real news sites like the guardian wouldn't just spout nonsense for clickbait.

i mean, yeah, their sources could be wrong. still, it's not like they do leaks all the time. it's a mainstream news site.

and it isn't like the guardian talks about the last guardian every year every e3.

yes, this is it. fumito ueda on stage as sony's closer. yooooooo.

Fair enough. Sorry for the reply. I'm just so confused whether I should be excited or not hah.

I know I'm going to end up getting hyped as hell the closer E3 is. Damnit. :P

If this is true, it will break Gaf 100% lol.

I'm going to the PS experience at the movie theatre and to see this actually revealed would be insane

its not going to be there and all of yall will complain that your expectations were not met just because you chose to fall for this rumor

I'm actively hoping for it to not show. I want to taste those tears. Delightful. I mean it'd be cool, but I'd find it much more hilarious the other way.

"I hope this does or doesn't happen just for the reactions" are the worst.

The worst.

Have to hold on, and keep up your strength, even with all the false rumors, let downs, and set backs. Many of us follow the church of Fox Mulder, and believe the truth will eventually be out there. We have to believe!

It's coming. Ya'll better believe.

Important to note that they aren't setting it up as an actual scoop/rumor/leak or anything, but that it was just in a list of games they're looking forward to. There's a chance they meant "we have it on very good authority" as a figure of speech or just a hunch, not that they have a source that says it'll be there.

the guardian is quite well-respected in the uk.

they're the newspaper that broke out that nsa whistleblower snowden interview.

so, you know, hyyyyyypppeee!!! ;p

To those outside of the UK The Guardian is the most respected and trusted broadsheet newspaper in the entirety of the nation. They also have a strong reputation worldwide and internationally (for example being one of the three newspapers chosen to receive the Wikileaks cables/documents). If they're reporting that a good source has indicated The Last Guardian will be at E3 then the reporting is reliable, trusted and correct; a legitimate and believable source genuinely did give them that information. And on that note too many sources both here on NeoGAF and elsewhere have relayed insider information indicating Sony plan to show The Last Guardian at E3 for this to be untrue now IMO. There was that poster that was vetted here by a mod a while back, most of the mods hearing similar rumours and now the strongest source thus far indicating a potential Last Guardian re-reveal at this E3. Is it happening? It's happening.

At a guess it'll be the show closer to Sony's conference this year. As for whether it'll resemble the old game hopefully it's just the same concept but more technically proficient, graphically upgraded for the new hardware yet still retaining the same essence and wonder.

Really looking forward to Sony's conference now. Next week can't come soon enough.

Look: I've been a Guardian reader for years and I still think it's a stretch to say that the credibility they've established from not being in Murdoch's pocket necessarily trickles down to all of their minor portfolios, among which video games are a minor sideshow at best. Their investigative muscle isn't exactly bearing down on their E3 gallery. And while I'm on the subject, the British left has some unfortunate blinders when it comes to overstating the paper's national appeal. Given their global online presence it's easy to forget that if The Guardian were as nationally well received as you say, the News of the World scandal would have had much greater consequences on Fleet Street and Labour might not have done so poorly in the election. It's easy to misread the national mood when nobody in your immediate social circles seems to read the Times, Telegraph, or (ugh) Mail.

They're more likely to have access to good, vetted sources than any of the hobbyist rags that pass for journalism, that's for sure, but I wouldn't take their information as rock-solid. Regardless, we'll know in less than a week.

Well, its not said WHAT will be said, right? What if... what if they would go on the stage and... say that the production of the game will be suspended indefinitely ;D?

Still,I want to be believe. I need this game.

They are, but I haven't heard about them leaking anything related to games correctly in the past.

Yeah, that is what I meant. I know the Guardian is a well respected News Source, just wasn't sure how they were on the gaming/entertainment side of things. That said, it seems they are consistent in all of their sections, and care about their reputation as a new source, regardless of the section.

I guess I'm just used to news sources over here, farming out their Entertainment sections to bloggers/personalities, who are more trigger happy with posting rumors, because of clicks etc.

I am definitely more excited now though.

"The Last Guardian" to be confirmed as a title card at the end of SONY's 2015 E3 press conference to quell concerns about the development of the game.

I'm giving in and choosing to really believe this time around.

The reaction during the Sony E3 Theater Experience will probably stay with me forever.
