New Devil's Third Trailer (Itagaki/WiiU, Japan - Aug 4, retail is Amazon exclusive)

Looks cool! And people with their usual Nintendo-negativity doubted this game would come out at all lol.
 
Eh, I'm on the fence about it. I'll wait for Japanese impressions.

I'll gladly eat crow if it ends up becoming the next God Hand though.

It could be because it's for Japan, to get Cero D instead of Cero Z.

Dismemberment could still be in domestic releases.

Ugh I actually want to play this game but in the event of actual censorship I would be stuck with the Japanese one.

Game might be good, might not. Won't sell well regardless, but I think that's a foregone conclusion on the Wii U, anyway. Doesn't really have any bearing on whether or not it's good.

I'll wait and see.
 
Day 1. :b Thinking it'll be a blast. Don't really care how it sells aslong as the multiplayer has some people playing on it for a while.
 
I'm trying so hard to give this game the benefit of doubt. You are not making this easy Itagaki. For all the balancing issues that NG2, the game played like heaven. It even showed well on videos. This one... I don't know.
 
I'll wait for impressions but it looks like it could be a fun time. I miss B Tier shooters like Psi-ops, and this gives me that kind of semi-janky but over the top vibe.

Saying some of you should just consider buying a Wii U doesn't hold water, especially when we all know why Bayonetta 2 and other titles are only available on the Wii U. The point I was implying was the game is good enough to be available for all platforms so, unless there is some clause we don't know about, the company can get more money if it was on the PS4 due to the stronger market.

Did the company reveal the reason why this game is Wii U only? Is there a clause that keeping the title as a Wii U only, o\r is it strictly due to development cost, or was it due to bad forecasting?

I loved Disruptor on PSX. Was so much fun regardless of the awful cutscenes.

It's on Wii U only because THQ dropped the game years ago and Nintendo picked it up. They're funding the title, assisting with its development, and publishing it. It's not coming anywhere else.

Like I said, you should buy a Wii U if you're interested in this game and a few others.

Pretty sure Nintendo picked this one up from the scrapheap much like Bayonetta 2.
 
Honestly it looks like a mess, terrible art direction and first gen PS3 graphics.
But if they nailed the gameplay and it's fun to play notwithstanding the troubled dev history props to Itagaki. Seems like an interesting hybrid between Ninja Gaiden and a fps.
 
Not sure if it has been mentioned yet, but the JP version of this game is only going to be sold on Amazon Japan, which is a first for a Nintendo published retail game, I think.

Looks better than last year, and kind of looks potentially interesting. Not gonna buy day one or anything, but I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

I agree with the sentiment that the online multi is probably doomed... way too ambitious for how miniscule the community is likely to be, as has been said.
 
Looks OK to me, but I really like cheesy action games/movies. Framerate looks much improved from last year too. Will check this out when it comes to the US.

CoD on Wii U has an active online community and it only sold peanuts. Wii u gamers don't have many options for online shooting action games so if the multiplayer is fun and Nintendo properly promotes the game with sales & advertisement, I don't see any reason why this couldn't sustain a population of at least 500-1000 concurrent online players to make matchmaking fairly decent.

That said I wonder how Nintendo can advertise this since it's super not family friendly.

Nintendo helped fund development for the title because it was having trouble.
 
Lol. I missed the Amazon exclusive part at the end of the video. Dying of laughter now. Maybe Nintendo couldn't get any retailers to stock the game.
