Can someone please tell me what the fuck Roy Jones is thinking here? In his last fight I really thought the guy was going to die because he was lying in the mat for like 10 minutes without moving. Roy seems to have lost the movement that once made him the best PFP fighter around and he doesn't seem to have any power on his punches anymore either.

I just can't comprehend that this might possibly happen.

Please, I'd pay to watch Roy Jones Jr. fight over any of these other clowns every day of the week and TWICE on Sunday. His last two "losses" were aberrations.

I liked watching Roy Jones when he was in his prime and when he was fighting a worthy opponent (not the tomato cans we usually got to see on HBO), but this fight is suicide dude. You can't honestly tell me with a straight face that you really think Jones has a chance in hell of winning this thing. He wasn't the greatest technical fighter, he relied on his pure athletic ability. Since he lost the weight that seems to be gone and the boxing ring is a dangerous fucking place to be when you are washed up.

Roy Jones Jr is in the "Magic Johnson" phase in his career.

What the world really needs to see is Mike Tyson against Jordan.

And Loki before you pollute this thread I meant in the BOXING ring. Don't bring up any pornographic images or mention Tyson's other possible career. I have to be careful after the page 21 incident...

All along he said he didnt want to be one of those boxers that fights one time to many and fucks up his future but now he is doing exactly that. He needs to retire.

Especially since he has almost no chance to win this fight and runs the risk of serious injury or death when he gets knocked the fuck out. Tarver almost took Roy out of his shoes in their last fight and Johnson didn't even seem to hit Roy that hard in his last fight and he was out for half the night. The whole thing just screams disaster. I understand that someone like Roy Jones doesn't get where he did by looking at the odds or listening to what people tell him he can and cannot do, but someone close to him has to stop it.

A page that will live in infamy, indeed. A page worthy of-- dare I say it?-- the archives. :D

the guy had a great future in him suddenly one morning he start sucking at what he was best, boxing. he had the space jam symdrone it seems, his talent mysteriously vanished I don't feel bad for him because he had this HUGE ego

anyway he still has time of course until he gets smacked badly and has to retire or something.

Tom Brady? Ouch. Just kick bionic in the balls while you are at it :lol

Good for Roy. I'll never understand why people write fighters off so easily.

Because we saw his last three fights. He is over the hill and is risking his life by continuing. Did you see how ineffective he has been? He can't avoid punches, he can't land punches with any force or in effective combinations, and he has developed a glass jaw worse than this guy.

Now all he has to do is develop a pot belly, open a chain of movie theaters, and embarrass himself in the broadcasting booth on national television! ;)

The gut comes from the AIDS, nice way to make fun of a guy's illness.

Jordaphiles...

P.S. I think Roy Jones was the last athlete who was on the Jordan line.

I saw them. I didn't see a fighter who's career was over. I saw a fighter who hit a rough patch. His body has changed but he was still trying to throw the way he used to. He needs to change his gameplan in order to stay competiitive. No more hands at your waist or cute little dances. It isn't too late for that, it's a matter of will.

Yeah, we all know Magic made it up to cover up the fact that he was getting older and fatter after tha 1991 NBA Finals.

Magic didn't have AIDS?

From now on I am associating Jordaphilia with Satanism.

Losing in a decision is hitting a rough patch. Getting knocked out of your shoes and then to follow it up by getting knocked out for 30 minutes means it is time to retire. Something is just not right with Roy physically and I don't think he can take a punch anymore (nor should he try). It is a dumb risk for him to take unless he can make some sort of miracle comeback. Problem is, there are pretty much no miracle comebacks in boxing. Once you go away you stay away (with very, very few exceptions. And the guys who do come back where not getting exposed like Roy was).

So absurd I had to laugh at it. Next you will tell me that the sun revolves around the moon or that Tom Brady is better then the NFL Messiah.
