Horizon: Zero Dawn Trailer (Guerrilla, post-apocalyptic pre-historic adventure)

I just noticed that Shinobi said this game doesn't have multiplayer ...
Its a monster-hunter-like game... I really would've wanted to hunt with my friends like monster hunter :(
There are great single player games like Witcher 3, Fallout series and I'm sure that if the devs are focusing on single player its going to be a great single player experience, but I real was expecting multiplayer for this game.

Oh well....

Maybe if it achieves success it may have spinoff with that in mind.

Joining the HYPE!!!

It is slowing starting to dawn on me that this isn't just my Game of E3, but it's my game of the new console generation. I haven't felt this excited for a new game and IP since the likes of the original Gears, BioShock, and Mass Effect. The enthusiasm I feel right now for Horizon is what has been missing so far for the current gen. For me at least the new new gen really starts right now.

Quests designed by the WItcher 3 guy hired by Guerrilla, from his Linkedin page:

'Devil By The Well'
'Precious Cargo'
'A Frying Pan, Spick and Span'
'Missing In Action'
'Twisted Firestarter'
'Fall Of The House Of Reardon'
'Ghosts Of The Past'
'The Bloody Baron'
'For The Advancement Of Learning'
'Count Reuven's Treasure'
'High Stakes'
'Ugly Baby'
'Disturbance'
'The Final Trial'
'To Bait A Forktail'
'No Place Like Home'
'Va Fail, Elaine'
'Blood On The Battlefield'

Fricking Bloody Baron, oh man!!

That's great but means nothing until they hire writers who wrote that whole story line.

Damnit Jim the Enterprise is a dinosaur.

When I caught wind that they were working on s new IP that might be an WRPG it immediately piqued my interes. Killzone 2 was one of my favorite shooters last gen. Love the art direction and the concept. It's pretty wild. Never been a big RPG guy, but if GG delivers, I'll be more than happy to pick this up alongside Mass Effect: Andromeda next year.

They have the lead writer of New Vegas. GG is doing alright in that category.

Oh I have no doubt that it's going to be good, but I find it silly to be excited about blurbs from someones LinkedIn page without knowledge of what exactly was their role in those quests.

the writer is the dude who did Fallout: New Vegas

never played that one so unsure of the story quality

I was talking about the Bloody Baron quest. It obviously wasn't designed and implemented by one person so I'd like to know their specific role before squeeling like a child before Christmas. Their overall roster is impressive and its definitely high on my "one to watch" list.

The guy they hired from Cdpr did only clean the desks from the writers so yeah, don't expect anything special.

I hope they keep the HUD minimal like the reveal, without map and quest details all up in it.

It's so beautiful as is ;_;

I'm sorry I'm not going crazy over someone's LinkedIn page without knowledge of their role in the process which could range from writing the story, script, implementing quest mechanics, gathering and overseeing asset production and so on. I'm very unreasonable.

I hope they give us options. Have you ever played open rpgs drunk? Or like too busy for a week and you totally forget what you were suppose to do? Those markers can be life savers!

Yeah I agree, we need to know the extent of what these Witcher/Fallout guys are doing. How much did they design? Are they working the same roles as their previous games? Who from GG is in charge of the overall story? What can we expect in terms of lore?

That looked insanely good, although the main character talked way too much, so hopefully they tone that down. Also still not too fond of her design, but I'm hyped nonetheless.

Gamespot dude butchering Aloy's name I'm sure is the same guy from last year that called one of the Driveclub developer by the wrong name, after being told at the beginning of the interview smh

And then there's the Thundermaw. Guerrilla Games breaks down some numbers for this gigantic, angry animal: It's 80 feet long by 30 feet tall (roughly the size of an adult blue whale); it has 93 destructive elements along its body, all of which Aloy can shoot to reveal weak points; and it has 12 attacks, including a tail swipe and long-range projectiles.

I'm watching the Gamespot stage demo of this and Herman just said that you take the parts of the machines to craft not only weapons but ARMOR too. That bit I didn't know. Hyped!

Around 6:30 on the vid

Wow, this really does seem to be the open-world western Monster Hunter I never even knew I wanted.

It's our world. That's the UK on the top of the picture.

True, but in Killzone it was still "our world" well into the future. ISA's home base and birth of humans was Earth.

I am just wondering if it is 1,000 years from our current timeline, or 1,000 years from the end of Shadow Fall.

Its Earth, and if it were to be in the Killzone universe then
Earth would be a nuclear wasteland.

They did say it takes place 1,000 years after
an apocalyptic event
.

Watched a bit of the Gamespot video. Smiled and nodded in satisfaction when the man said, "We are making a single-player game thank you very much".

As did I. So much more focus will be on polish and not having to worry about multiplayer balancing.

Does anyone want to take a guess at Sony's 2016 release calendar for first party games? Here is mine:

Uncharted 4 - Late Winter (March)
Tomorrow Children/ Ratchet and Clank - Spring
The Last Guardian - Late Summer
Horizon - Late Fall
