Oh shit, if the emulator actually enables vsync then I will definitely be getting an X1 once the BC library expands. That feature alone is worth it to me.

Well I stopped playing Mass Effect for the time being. I don't remember the frame-rate being this poor when you're at the Citadel. Also fighting on Eden Prime caused massive drops in the fps.

Anyone else noticing this?

The account system for Live is now incompatible with OG Xbox servers. That's why they turned them off. Sadly this means they will never come back most likely.

No, they wouldn't.

There was issues on the back end that needed to be resolved. The old XBL servers were on dedicated racks. Xbox Live on 360 and One are on Azure

There is a hard limit to friends on old Xbox of 100.... devs coded around that 100 level.

They'd have to put in a nasty hack of shims in there to connect to azure servers... probably only take peoples favorites as friends and then emulate every distinct server for every game they had. Stupidly difficult work with little gain.

Unlikely. One of the main reasons OXbox Live went down is that the whole support apparatus for the Original Xbox had to do go down, and since every game was hardcoded to use the same Live login, they had to go down with the ship.

You'd be able to use the LAN functionality via XBC, though.

edit: one of the upgrades to 360 era Live is they can individually allow/disallow certain games from connecting to Live (like when you try to use the Halo 3 beta now, it'll knock you off Live)

This has worked for me for Hexic HD, Perfect Dark and Mass Effect (all digitally purchased previously)

I am currently downloading perfect dark! I'll report back if it works and I'm not in the preview program!

Very very impressed with Mass Effect. Just put Kameo in to install but I messed around with ME and it runs really great. Love how the 360 logo pops up, and that you can bring up the 360 menu. The menu pops up and its so smooth. Later on in my 360 slims life whenever I brought up that menu it would be so slow.

this is the beta/preview program
once the bugs are worked out it will be released to everyone
remember people are testing the product and we get all the bugs as well
and all the problems.. such is the purpose of the program

It's invite only for a reason. There are bugs and issues that come up in the preview updates. Allowing anyone to get in easily will just end up with people complaining the system is broken.

And Perfect Dark worked. Perfectly.

I have spoken about how I think Remasters and such were in the vast majority of cases cynical cash grabs.

Now if you make a remaster you need to throw in some deep fucking value otherwise people will (hopefully) just laugh it off.

And the way this works is fucking amazing, xbox snap and all that work, suspend resume excellent and elegant implementation!

This was my personal E3 megaton, and I hope it forces the whole industry to respect us more as customers.

Just picked up Mass Effect for a £1 from a local pawn shop, downloading the 7GB install now. Thanks to Quick Mustard for the add and invite. Will get Red Dead Redemption, Bayonetta, Vesperia and Lost Odyssey if and when they are added.

It's in the preview FAQ

Q: Where is my DLC?

A: DLC will be supported when the program is launched to everyone, but during preview DLC will not be supported.

Yup, multiplayer works. You have access to your 360 friends list too, you're pretty much playing on a 360 but on the Xbox One.

XBC doesn't exist. Your point stands though. There's always Xlink Kai

No. It won't let you install it. Or even buy. You have to previously own it just to see the install option at all. You can always buy from Xbox.com.

Its probably hasnt aged that well but would love to play Buffy the Vampire Slayer game, thought that was brilliant back in the day and only ever came out of the original XBOX
