Director has me super worried, and I'm not feeling it for the actor either. I hope to be surprised but yikes, it feels like they're cheaping out on the talent for their premier franchise.

Outside of Raimi and Dafoe, it's not like the original Raimi film was teeming with well-known talent, and that helped catapult the three main leads to stardom. Same thing with the Amazing films.

It's a very good film that everyone should see. Especially for a taste of Tom's abilities.

He was also a Billy in the Billy Elliot stage production (yeah, they have a huge team of them.) So as a trained and seasoned dancer he probably has what it takes to do some of the acrobatics. At least the ones that the stunt people don't do for him.

Wow, was totally not expecting them to do somersaults, backflips, pirouettes, sixsteps, and some modern/lyrical dance. Legit impressed. Clean forms, too.

Well it couldn't be worse then the last two could it guys. Guys...

Just as a reminder; Paul Rudd and RDJ were the only two "big names" marvel ever hired for lead roles. Chris Evans' career was in slums, Chris Hemsworth was a soap actor, Tom Hiddleston could go unnoticed in Los Angeles, and Chris pratt was that fat guy from parks and rec. And please don't look up the resume of the Russo bros, if you think they were big before winter soldier.

We love his married life. His teenage years are nonexistent in comparison.

I'm sorry the hardcore Spider-Man fan loves his teenager years.

"The hardcore Spider-Man fan" is a sliding scale and you know that. Kind of like the "hardcore Richard Rider fans" who didn't read New Warriors or Larsen's run on the solo book.

Enthusiasts forget that the market moves on eventually and you are not always the target audience.

You forgot Mr. Cumberpatch.

Don't know anything about either of them, but I have a lot of trust in Marvel's casting game by this point (and their directing game, uh, less so). But at least this search is finally over!

And Sam Jackson. And Scarlett.

Natalie Portman?

Kid is an amazing dancer and outacted Naomi Watts in The Impossible. Good on him.

Oohhhhhh... This was the kid from The Impossible? Okay, I'm fine with this. Seems like he has athletic and dancing abilities too since he's in the Billy Elliot stage show. Not sure about the director, but Cop Car is supposed to be pretty promising

The Impossible is on Netflix, think I’ll watch it later this week.

Here are some more "Parker-like" pictures of Tom Holland from his instagram:

I'm good with this, I can see it.

Man, feels like it was a close call with a lot of those other terrible picks.

I've never heard of either of them before. I looked up Tom and wasn't too happy until I realized that most of the pictures are of him from a year or two ago, and at his age he's in rapid development. In 2015 he looks fine.

I'll have to check out some clips of him.

As for the director, well...he's done very little. The only thing I've seen is 'Our Robocop Remake' which really doesnt tell me anything. That's got me a bit nervous.

Everyone's upset about this but overjoyed that they got a dull-eyed mouth breather to play the smartest character the Marvel universe? (Punisher, obviously) SMH
