SHENMUE 3 kickstarter (PC/PS4) - FINAL DAY - NEW KS RECORD GO GO GO!

Just pledged $60 for the PS4 physical version! I would love it if they could (I am sure they can't) make a special edition which includes Shenmue HD 1 + 2. Sega come on :)

I doubt that will happen but if Sega would simply announce HD 1&2 before the end of the campaign that will give the Kickstarter another nice shot in the arm.

honestly, the'd better: it's not just all the post-KS funding (super important) but seriously, who waits so long on a big revenue stream? possibly worse than the dragging their nuts on all the easier NPC/in game etc rewards that brought in so much today
I am pretty sure everything is not was easy as you think it is.

I was the fifth person at the $500 level, and now I need another account for the other physical version. This game better come out...

Upped from 29 to 60, and will almost certainly bump to the $300 tier now that a PS4 physical copy is being offered. Lack of one was holding me back before --- wanted to support the KS even if it was only $29 I was kicking in but wasn't looking forward to buying the game twice since I very much wanted physical.

Now I'm wanting all the capsule toys -___-

Very happy to see this get moving again. I really hope there is the opportunity to fund it further post the Kickstarter... I really want to donate something like $5 a month until release. Happily if I know that will help us get a proper full Shenmue 3 game we all hope for. Don't really care about getting deeper rewards from doing so either. A proper Shenmue 3 game is reward enough. I just hope that Sega get their act together and get proper Shenmue 1 + 2 Remasters on the cards.

We need them! I want to play all 3 games on my PS4.

Went from $29 to $60 to $100.

Not sure I can do more.
Would love to see Sega sign-off on a 1+2 Remaster before the Kickstarter ends...

Upped my pledge to receive the PS4 physical copy! :) Would love to pledge more and get my name in the credits but unfortunately $60 (or £38.49 to be precise) is all this poor student can currently afford!

I really like Kotaku, especially Stephen and Jason and also like the 'new' ones like Tina and Kirk, but man this doesn't make things easier at all.

I am pretty sure everything is not was easy as you think it is.

not saying it is, honestly
i'm not one of the dudes knocking early concept art/etc, or even the PS4 physical - that was talking with sony, no doubt tons of details

but if you're the company putting on a high profile KS, shoudln't sorting paypal payments be very high on your list? answering "we're working on it" halfway through - especially seeing say stuff like Star Citizen, for godsake - i'm not saying it's easy, i'm saying you get it done if you're doing this right

I am usually not a fan of conspiracy theories, but that Kotaku article is so provocatively bad, I can't help but think that the author wrote it just to get some attention and boost his Twitter visibility.

Who cares about the gaming press at all? We have game creators selling their products directly to us gamers. We have Q&A sessions with the creators directly. Creators post their own footage to YouTube. Gamers can post their own reviews when the game is released. The gaming press is entirely irrelevant.

I really want addons. Let me add extra copies and maybe even other items to my existing pledge. PC / PS4 physical and digital copies and maybe even the art book for those who don't want to go to the $175 tier.

So true. That little share button has empowered consumers in quite a few ways over the last couple of years. It also is a great marketing mechanism, but hey, at least consumers also benefit from it.

That Kotaku guy riffing on placeholder art comes off as such a hack.

Today is going to be good; I imagine tons of people are going to be upping their pledges for the physical console version. I only received the KS update email an hour ago so there is probably going to be a steady stream of them.

Audio was messed up, and their guy was crazy.

Thanks for the info. The apology made me think it was something serious.

Jesus, that guy at Kotaku needs to calm down and stop being so darn cynical. Anyone who has any interest in the KS will realise that's blatantly a quick placeholder. Like Shenmue 1 and 2, I'm sure Shenmue 3 will have some gorgeous physical boxart and I'll be happy to have bought it.

Wow, the opening paragraph is pathetic:

I don’t particularly care about the Shenmue III Kickstarter because I don’t fund other people’s creative endeavors and I can’t bring myself to have feelings about anything happening in 2017 right now. But if I did donate to kickstarters or had meaningful early-stage interest in a Shenmue threequel, the placeholder box are for the newly announced backer-only PS4 physical copy might cure me of the desire to donate to this specific project.

You know what? I'm upping my pledge again to counter this shit. Done.
