i always through it was cool that ryo was a total badass in his small hometown, but as soon as he gets to hong kong his ass is handed to him repeatedly
Ryo always struck me as...odd, to put it lightly. He carried out with his quest with laser focus and yet the manner to which he approach basic problems made it seem like he was a robot.
The fan fiction scene had hell of a time with him

I never bothered calling Nozomi after getting fired until this last playthrough. Ryo almost showed emotion and then left her hanging. I would go to Canada too if I were her.
Come on, SEGA and Yu Suzuki. Make it happen. Announce it as a stretch goal between $5 and $6 million along with Virtua Fighter 3, Virtua Cop, and any other AM2 game.
OMG! If they used S3 as a trojan horse for including VF or any of the AM2/AM3 games I would double/triple my pledge!

I'm constantly surprised that people who remove their pledges appear to do so only to actually increase the amount of the pledge.

I'm not sure I like the idea of locking some (most?) players out of content that is relevant to the story/character development.
One the other hand, I feel strongly tempted right now to upgrade my pledge to $80, so it seems to be working.
Stuff like that will be easy to find on youtube.

I ring up Nozomi and the line is all crackly, but I hear her say something about it being too cold in Canada, and she is thinking she might move back home..then the line goes dead.

It's a neat way to raise money. Besides, anyone who can't or doesn't want to pledge that amount will be able to watch it on Youtube later anyway. If you're a hardcore enough Shenmue fan to want to call Nozomi from China, you should consider this worth increasing your pledge anyway. The money is going to make Shenmue 3 a bigger and better game.
Go to YouTube then. Haha. The content isn't like it's something that affects Ryo. It's purely for you the player.
Sure, but that's still different from experiencing it in-game.
Of course, I don't really expect these conversations to be much more than fan service. So I guess it's kind of OK.

Still, it's like saying that the 100% ending of Batman could only be unlocked with DLC, which, oh, you didn't preorder? YOU DON'T GET IT.

EDIT: Although it is true that it doesn't affect Ryo. That's a good point.

I kind of thought that the 2,2M stretch goal of Cinema Shorts would have been flashbacks, but I guess it's going to be literally summaries of the past games then?

I do not like this either, even if I am pledging enough for most in-game items. I hope others will be able to get the items in future DLC at least. Although it is not surprising that Shenmue 3 will try to be Star Citizen to get more funds I guess.

Shenmue-GAF, you know what I've been doing constantly for the last hour? I ripped out a small, square piece of paper from a notebook and have been dropping it and trying to catch it with only my index finger and middle finger like Xiuying. It's really addictive and fun LOL. You guys should give it a try.

I'm not sure what to make of this. I don't think I like it, for a couple of reasons.
We were just talking about saying goodbye to Nozomi, and now you can call her up and chat to her? Talk about cheapening a heartfelt farewell!
Not to mention it's story content locked behind a paywall. No sir, I don't like that one little bit.
