Funny you should mention this. I main gouken but like to play dudley a lot since he's more aggressive. I've noticed guile players like to complain about focus attack abuse. It's one of Dudleys main footsie tools and without it he'd be an absolutely terrible character. I don't like that they designed some character's to have to rely on this mechanic.
This is my main problem with focus. I main Gouken too and against some players, I can't even get a single button off because they are constantly abusing focus attack. Nothing but crumpling for me. Gouken has amazing buttons but you usually have to use them at range and those buttons don't cancel, so you crumble. Super annoying.

When it comes to outfits though, I'm in the "don't buy if you don't like" camp. If folks have fun with the animal pack or Aztec Blanka or mecha Gief, more power to them.

I would agree if Capcom had unlimited resources and could produce unlimited number of outfits.
But that's not the case, each ugly/joke outfit replaces a real outfit.

I get your point, I really do, and I agree, but then again what you or me deem to be ugly/joke outfits could be exactly what other consumers want. It's all a matter of opinion and preferences, once again.
If the animal pack for USFIV sold for shit, you can be sure you won't be seing anything like those for SFV though. I'd like to know the sales figures for those different outfit DLCs.
 
The FADC Cancels feel like they came from people who really like Guilty Gear.

I dunno. One of my friends is a Guilty fan but had real problems FADCing. They didn't like how you had to dash out of it, whereas RC was more like an instant cancel and therefore less execution heavy

That's exactly why I really don't get it when people compare FADC to RC or to Garou Mark of the Wolves's "break" system. I'm not an expert by any means but to me this alone makes the mechanics totally different, in both principle and application.

I prefer GG/BB to SF4 and I find the mechanic clunky and have never been a fan of if.
 
If Juri is in the game I hope they don't change her design or if they do it's not by very much. especially her hair. Please leave that alone.
 
I've been playing ultra again lately and I forgot how good Gen was.

with v-trigger his two stances could get exponetially crazier.
 
Street Fighter 2 felt authentic in the fact that all the designs felt like they were trapped in the late 80's era. I wonder if Street Fighter should be trapped in a design time bubble. I'm never comfortable with modern character designs in Street Fighter. Something just doesn't feel right about seeing Ryu next to a 21st century character design.

A Blazblue character wouldn't feel right style wise or design wise in a Street Fighter game. It'd be interested to see all Blazblue characters designed like they were invented in the late 80's with 80's fashion and sensibilities though.

Blazblue is just modern, generic anime design. The designs in Street Fighter are mostly realistic in attire but cartoonish in proportions. Having a bunch of guys in brightly colored trenchcoats covered in crucifix belt buckles would be more jarring than, say, a guy wearing jeans and a hoodie.

so much awesome that never showed up in the game smh...i hope the more serious tone of SFV is universal and at least 2-3 "cool" outfits for characters are introduced and the joke stuff optional and much later dlc.
 
I feel like if Feilong doesn't make the cut is a missed opportunity to have a high polygon muscle oriented Bruce Lee clone on next gen aside from Marshall law in T7. But even then the way the details are animated, I feel SFV can exaggerate details a lot better.
 
The one alt I really want back from 4 is Chun's black dress alt. That was godlike
and would look so much better in SF5's artstyle.

I'm really curious to see what direction they'll go with the alts this time. Will Charlie's costumes emphasize his (former) military occupation, or his current status as the Monster Nash? Are most of the alts going to be based on existing designs (i.e. the pre-fight suit and tie for Urien) or off-the-wall oddities like the majority of SFIV's?

This game is STARVING me for new info.
