Friend invited me to see it since he works at the theater & gets free tickets to use each month.

Short review: uuuuggggghhhhhhhh. I'm very tempted to type up all the stuff that was just bad or rather, annoying about it. I swear, we kept rolling our eyes about every five minutes.

I'm glad his free monthly passes don't count towards box office sales. & I figured he would've been a bit more tolerant, but no, he hated it as much as me.

That's the key to enjoying his movies. They're fun to switch off to. It feels like the Adam Sandler hating bandwagon has grown and becone more vicious. I don't oppose criticizing his movies, because they aren't good, but I don't remember near the amount of bad press for his previous stinkers.

Jack and Jill?

Damn, the ending was quite...disturbing if you think about it.

I'm also convinced that Adam Sandler has some green screen footage of himself that he reuses for the opening of every single one of his movies.

The highlight of that movie was the trailer for Pixar's new movie, which had me in stitches. Pixels still made me chuckle with most gags, but it wasn't outright laughter like during that trailer.

I don't know why everybody is so butt hurt over this movie. You know what your getting with an Adam Sandler movie. Yeah there's a lot of bad ones. Being a video game fan, I looked forward to seeing this ever since I saw the first trailer. I went with my kids and we all loved it. We laughed a lot and it was pretty clean and family friendly. I went in expecting just a dumb fun movie and that's what I got.

Really though, what is it about this movie that's got everybody's panties in a bind? Why so critical? Is it just because it's an Adam Sandler movie and that makes it bad? Is it about them dis-respecting or butchering these beloved classic video games that we loved so much back in the day? Are people offended by it? What is it?

It's just a dumb fun movie and I loved it.

So let's talk about the biggest plot hole in this movie:

Cheat codes. Fine, gotta bring up cheats & codes & all that when talking about games, especially older ones, but.....1.) How the hell did the Game of Thrones guy enter them? There was no "controller" when he did it against the giant Pac-Man, so how would he know how to translate controller inputs to A CAR?! & the bigger issue at hand, 2.) WHEN THE HELL DID PAC-MAN OR DONKEY KONG EVER HAVE FREAKIN' CHEAT CODES!?!? & for that matter, in the intro, how did young Adam Sandler even "lose" at Donkey Kong? We see him beating the final stage, but then "GAME OVER" just zooms in and he lost. Uh, no, he defeated Donkey Kong, that's WINNING. Hell, if GoT guy even used cheat codes back in the day to win, how in the world did anyone not catch him!? HE WAS IN A NATIONAL TOURNAMENT IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE!! Don't you think they'd do something to prevent stuff like that from happening?

Also Wreck-It Ralph handled Q-Bert better.

I finally saw this. It wasn't terribad. I chuckled a few times.

What struck me more than anything was how the hell did Sandler get Nintendo to allow him to use their characters as bad guys?! Donkey Kong is the big baddie, and at one point I even saw Mario running around during the invasion. I was astounded they would allow that.

Just rented this movie. I loved it, one of the best sci fi comedies in years. People just want a chance to hate on Sandler.

Loved Q-bert.

Ironically I found the movie really funny apart from the Pixels / Aliens stuff. I laughed a lot at some of the stupid lines of the characters. The aliens though, the battles, the effects, the way people turned to cubes, the challenges... it was all so stupid. At leat I had a good time.

Despite some bad acting, my family enjoyed this movie. Like it was said before., the flick is dumb fun and forgettable. That doesn't make it a "bad" movie. This isn't Shindler's List. It's a stupid movie about nerds fighting an alien invasion with laser guns. Give it a rest, haters.

I watched this the other night and it was incredibly dumb, poorly acted, and really poorly written, but Dinklage's mullet and the effects made the entire package less odious. I think I had one chuckle, maybe two, both centered on Dinklage.

I watched the cobbler on Netflix yesterday. What a strange morose ridiculously and somehow inappropriately touching movie. Only Sandler can do this.

I don't agree. Putting it against the nonexistent plethora of other recent sci-fi comedies isn't really saying much either. Unless we decide to throw in anything marvel in there in which case even as a non-fan I can't put Pixels above even the worst superhero schlock like Fantastic Four... On second thought, yeah it's better than the last Fantastic Four. That movie was soul crushing in a way Adam Sandler's stream of predictable crap could never inspire.
