Where is the Kingdom Hearts Collection for PS4/XBone?

Seriously. After reading this FF12 news im getting annoyed a bit with Square.

Two insider here on gaf are teasing KH for PS4 for a long time. And im starting to wonder if this is even happening.
I dont get why Square can re-port the FF Remasters so fast to PS4 but no word or sign for Kingdom Hearts?

Yeah KH3 is coming etc but i was hoping to replay 1 and 2 on PS4 or XboxOne.

Any news, leaks or so on this?

I'd buy it. I never played more than a couple hours of 2, or anything else that they remade for it aside from 1, which I haven't played since it was still a pretty new game.

Isn't something about Disney not wanting KH on digital stores? (And as far as I know, every PS4/XOne retail game must be made available for digital purchase as well).

I must be misremembering, but I think I read something like that when people complained about the absence of KHBBS in the PS Store.

If the game doesn't come in 2016, expect a KH Collection (with Dream Drop Distance HD) to happen on PS4/X1.

Square for a while has been yearly releasing KH games:
- 2011: Re:Coded
- 2012: Dream Drop Distance
- 2013: KH1.5 HD Remix
- 2014: KH2.5 HD Remix
- 2015: KH Mobile (Chi)

So, that leaves 2016 on wards left for KH games :). It could work like this:
-2016: KH Complete Collection (1.5, 2.5, Dream Drop Distance HD) + KH3 Demo
-2017: KH3 (Spring 2016 JP, Summer 2016 US/EU)
-2018: KH Handheld Game/KH3 NX Port

That is the case (which is why Birth By Sleep and Dream Drop Distance isn't on the PSN Store for the former and 3DS E-Shop for the latter :() but there are a few retail games on PS4/X1 that don't get digital releases (Skylanders comes to mind). That could be the case for KH Collection too.

Well Dream Drop Distance is significant to this clusterfuck story and hasn't been ported to consoles yet, so another collection release is totally possible.

KH3 is almost definitely dropping next year so I'm not sure when they'd release it. If it didn't get an E3 announcement then we're probably not seeing it this holiday. Maybe announced at D23 or TGS and released early 2016?

Don't really care about DDD at all, but yeah, I really really want 1, Re:CoM, 2 and BBS on PS4. Hopefully at 60fps.

Say that to the FFX remaster

There's also

Witcher 3 on PS4 despite the previous entries were never on PS consoles
Dead Rising 2 on PS3 where DR1 remained X360 exclusive and DR3 ended up being X1 and PC exclusive

Not saying that KH collection will never hit the X1, but just because the latest entry is hitting the X1 doesn't automatically mean it'll get the previous entries.

More than the remasters, I want DDD HD.

But yeah, if anything, the FFXII remaster basically points even harder to the KH collection...

Just give it more time, SE is on a fairly good roll at the moment, granted they haven't delivered yet, but at least they are making strides.

I still don't know why they ported the awful FFX remaster but not the KH collections that look 10 times better and it makes more sense with KH3 coming.

I've held of on getting the KH1&2 PS3 remasters in the hopes I can get it on my PS4 instead. So I hope we hear about something soon ;_;

Having a new game in the franchise coming out for the platform doesn't mean you'll the remaster

FFX PS4 came after Type 0 HD to boot.

Sure, it's possible it wouldn't come to XB1...it would be ridiculous though.

If SE makes a remaster, but for whatever reason only publishes it for one of the platforms KH3 is releasing on...that would be a big wasted opportunity. Particularly for a franchise that relies so much on story.

All I'm saying is consider the original collection skipped the 360 for no apparent reason so don't take it for granted

Now that would be ridiculous, considering the third game is coming to that platform.

Look at what happened when Square brought out Final Fantasy Type-0 HD over to Xbox One: Sales were complete shit on that platform.

I highly doubt that they would want to see a repeat of that.

Little reason to think that given Kingdom Hearts 3 is confirmed to be coming to the Xbox One.

If anything, putting it on The One makes MORE sense; 3 is the first KH on Xbox.

It seems to me that whatever the deal was for FFX-HD, was also for Kingdom Hearts. FFX-HD has never come to Xbox, like at all. Not even when the PS4 version, which came after Type-0 HD. It doesn't make sense to not port it unless a certain deal is struck with Sony. I've seen a theory being thrown around that FFX/FFX2 were ported using propietary Sony tools(hence why it never came to another platforms), and the same thing seems to hold for KH collection.

I believe that if those collections could be released in any other platforms, they would already have been released.

it isnt happing guys according to this intiview here http://bbs1.ruliweb.daum.net/gaia/do/ruliweb/default/news/547/read?articleId=1388&bbsId=G007&pageIndex=1

Sometimes Devs have to deny things that are happening later on. Its the Publishers job to announce stuff.

I remember a lot of times when a Dev denied a Remake/Remaster,,,

But i would be sad if this Collection is not happening :(

I hope that the prior KH games show up on PS4, X1, and Steam (like FF-Type 0). Square could use the exposure to get a newer generation of peeps into this series, so the more platforms, the better.

If I had to guess, maybe Gamescom will surprise us.

I don't see a remaster as being a huge investment for this company.

Well, he doesn't rule out a Dream Drop Distance remaster, and that game had detailed recaps of the games 1.5 and 2.5 cover, soooooo...

I'd really love a KH collection on the Xbox One. Hope it happens some day. Wonder how many people put that in the survey from a coupple months back.

Not really that ridiculous... if you take in consideration that both ReMix (1.5 and 2.5) use Sony Corp. technology (SBMV, aka "Super Bit Mapping for Video", I think?) for all the cut-scenes, hence why we didn't see the KH ReMix on Xbox 360 or even WiiU. If they really want to release a proper collection of the past games, they will have to re-render those cut-scenes, which will most likely bring them to re-format/re-configure the assets to a new "system" for the cut-scenes.

source: Can be found in the copyrights claim in the back of both games.
