Final Fantasy XV 'Dawn' trailer

I'm not mad about the shortness / content, but I'm confused what that was about.

The father didn't look like Regis, more like a soldier, yet he was driving a super slick car.

Did he just build Insomnia there using some kind of super summoning?
If so, who is King Regis?

I don't know anything anymore.

I laughed in the end of the trailer. Like WTF it's 3 m long and nothing happens.

I'll always be with you. :l

Wonder what's going on with kid Luna there.

Probably the moment that leads to her also getting the power to see the light of expiring souls? (This is assuming that angle is still in for Noctis' female counterpart, and Luna is said counterpart.)

That's what immediately came to my mind.

Same. Heart felt emotion in a video game trailer? Blasphemy! Needs more guns, explosions and murder!

It's not that it's a story scene, it's just a weirdly paced and presented trailer. There's one line, but it's still not voiced (apparently). After an initial scene of action, the rest of the trailer is just one very long cut of a scene with practically zero context. It's beautifully animated but as a standalone trailer it's pretty empty.

The emotion of the scene with the father is marred by the fact that the entire trailer is nothing but that scene. Had there been anything else, even 1-2 seconds of gameplay, it would've felt worthwhile. Otherwise it would've been appended to a longer/more informative trailer.

The only good part was the music, which was absolutely amazing.

What a waste of time. They pretty much showed most of it with that teaser yesterday, only the Luna scene was new.

I'm a total sucker for Father and Son stuff so this one hit me right in the feels and yea I really appreciated how understated it was. Gives something to think about, dissect and parse through. In fact, this is my favorite trailer they have shown thus far. Very excited!

I'm not against full story-based trailers, but they need to have more than what was shown here.

Hmm well then.

I've been thinking KH3 will release before this but now I'm convinced.

I wonder what will release first, XV or VIIR.

STORY
In a matter of days, the Kingdom of Lucis is to sign an armistice, ending a long and bitter conflict with Niflheim. Ahead of the ceremony, Prince Noctis, heir to the Lucian throne, sets forth from his homeland to formalize the union of states through his marriage to the Lady Lunafreya of the imperial province of Tenebrae.

The offer of peace, however, is no more than a ruse to lower the Lucian shield, and the imperial army takes the crown city and its sacred crystal in one fell swoop. En route to his destination, Noctis is shocked to learn that he, his father the king, and his betrothed are believed dead.

Overnight, the dream of peace has faded into a distant memory. His world crumbling around him, Noctis has naught but his resolve and his loyal companions to see him through the trials to come.

Why there is no information about this in the trailer? I'm confused.

Well that scene is like 15 years in the past, time ages a man.

every trailer since nomura dipped out on this has gotten worser and worser, I'm scared for what they have to offer next

good news tho is that we only need to wait another week for nomura to bless us with a KH3 trailer. believe

Yeah. I'm hoping she finds a way to save herself in that situation.

Would Square Enix even have the balls to go down a sexual abuse route for a child?

Too dark for a mainline Final Fantasy.

If this was still a spin-off (Versus 13), then yea I can see them do it, especially since V13 was supposed to be a more darker story.

Such a disappointment and awkward trailer. Plot is fine, but give some fucking context. Noctis hugging his dad for a minute does absolutely nothing for your game.
