Fighting Games Weekly |8/10-16| Gods(Beard) Among Us

I would be very, very wary of Jeff. He's been known to move around and try to pull money using contracts and such before, and he's very hard to talk to. If something comes up he can't spin, he probably won't talk.

there are probably not many fighting games left that are not designed by ex-players. Maybe not famous tournament players but still long time fans.

DOA probably has more fan input than some people will give it credit for. It's why it's characters probably have the greatest variety outside of Anime games.

Now for all of FGC-Gaf
What is the player population you think would be ideal number for the ranking system has enough players to even out the skill gap as well as help ease newer people in naturally like how MOBAs took off due to being free. What number would you guys say is sufficient to be self sustaining with growth,

Topanga B League is happening throughout September. Will be interesting to see how they manage it considering the amount of Asian ranking events that month.

around 5,000 legitimate players you can play. Legitimate= someone you can't just mash buttons and win against, you have to put some thought into it.

People going in on each other over the opinions of one Nesica cab existing in SoCal.

Anime scene is really a bunch of different groups with their own interests who clash a lot. It's been showing really hard body lately.

I think I'd be down for a 3d fighter with extremely simplified movelists.

Been working on vf and while it's lovely, the amount of shit that can happen and the pace it tends to happen at is really scary. That tension is actually really cool but man it's a lot to take in.

5FS is really, really intense. Way scarier than Amnesia.

What? Really? I heard that cab is supposed to have all the Nesica games. What to complain about?

Some people say it's a big deal and go on about getting to play games and do stuff for the scene, some people disagree. A lot of it is just arguing the same way the anime scene tends to argue, certain people don't like each other so they go in.

You don't have opinions that clash with another group or scene. It's a bad idea.

why are people yelling at you astarte??

Maybe the streamers/lets players of the Amnesia videos are the real terror

3.0

I can't think of a negative of the nesica cabs other than the initial investment Round 1 has to make just to bring them here. Yeah, it's extremely limited, but that doesn't mean they won't expand if this is successful.

If the anime scene wants to complain about something, they should (continue to) harp on how it takes far too long to get console patches. 24/7. Because it's still bullshit.

Anime twitter needs to stop shitting the bed. I don't follow a lot of them but it's spilling onto my timeline.

There's a bit of a reality check that it's just a H2H set up in SoCal.It really doesn't change anything except a group of lucky people can pay $1.50 a play to play early with each other, which really does nothing.

Until there's an affordable solution everywhere to the point I can run a major on Nesica cabs it doesn't matter. So I don't think it's going to matter for a long time if it does end up being a thing.

The problem is people arguing about it set off the normal AFGC twitter arguing bells so it'll be all I see on there today, with the same people going at it as usual. It's actually kind of an interesting subject but you can't touch it in the twitter sphere or you become at risk.

Basically.

I bring it up here cause it's interesting to talk about and I don't risk an anxiety attack talking about it here.

I'm glad the anime twitter people I follow now (afaik) are the people that link to resources, the good stuff.

I don't want memes or drama.

So FGC Gaf. Anyone think the Wii U will get anymore fighting games?

There's Smash Wii U and Tekken Tag 2..

Last gen there was also Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

Sucks for FGC people that have that as their only fighting game platform. But whatever it's Nintendo you should know what games you're missing out on by now. I only got this system for Smash 4, so I'm not expecting much anyway.

Yes, but when there's zero, we're all in this together.

I'm aware I'm being unreasonable, but you can't help feelings.

Yup sounds childish. It's not like I can ever play it but I'm happy as hell for them. Was there any info on how they got it and such? Is it some kind of trial in the states to see if it will perform well overseas?
