Disagree on the first, confused about Las Vegas being cheaper (do you live right next door?), and unsure but probably true that it's much "nicer" to visit if you're into drinking all hours of the night on the street.

Personally super happy it's in SF and hope that next year it goes to the East Coast!

Las Vegas is tourist central. I can get a $300 to and from air ticket travel package to Las Vegas where it would be two or three times to price for San Fran or LA.

And same goes with hotel. So many special deals in Las Vegas all year long.

I don't think we'll see FF7 gameplay, I do think we'll see character models/art and maybe get some info on things they're updating/changing. If they're confident that it will be done for 2017 then maybe they'll announce that, but I don't expect that

Comic-Con, Pax Prime and now this. Fun convention year!

Looks like if you book directly with the Hilton, it can actually be cheaper if you do 2 double beds rather than a king; it's $159 a night.

I'm booking tickets from Boston, MA. Round trip is looking to be around 460 including tax... so... What?

I'm not excited about a six hour flight, but it'd be around that to Los Vegas too, so it's whatever.

So no one under 18 I just found out, so no bringing my son.

Now do I want to take Bart for an hour each way for two days or one? Which day would be best to see floor demos?

Everything demo was was available both days. It's the panels you need to worry about if you only want to go one day.

I think Santa Monica is going to have a massive presence at PSX this year. Not only did they say that themselves after last years, they have two announced games we've seen almost nothing of, one Triple-A game in development, and no doubt other games they're assisting with like they always do.

They're probably going to get their own block during the press conference. Something like announce a new IP they're incubating, new Wattam trailer, new Edith Finch trailer w/ a release window, and the big reveal of the new God of War. Should be good!

Honestly, Sony could have a remarkably compelling conference with just SCEA's studios alone. Let Santa Monica have their segment, let Sony San Diego show off MLB and then their F2P trio: Guns Up!, Drawn to Death, and Kill Strain, and wrap up with Sony Bend's new game. I'd be satisfied!

Jump Festa is also in Winter.

i don't know if it would be wise to show the first material of Square Enix biggest Project which got an enormous hype in the west at an japanese centric show, while at the same month there is this huge PSXperience show, watched from fans around the world

i think it will be present at both events
PSX first glimpse of Gameplay or Footage
Jump Festa several interviews with Nomura about this project

2 unannounced games? If one is GOW what's the other?

Well it's really just an assumption on my part but a pretty safe one. Santa Monica is always helping out with the development of some smaller scale titles at any given time. Examples are Journey, PlayStation All-Stars, Unfinished Swan, Hohokum, Everybody's Gone to Rapture, etc.

I feel like it's a pretty safe bet that there's something else unannounced aside from the new God of War that they have their hands on.

Well I know they are helping with Fat Princess Adventures for later this year and 2 more games scheduled to release in 2016, What Remains of Edith Finch and Wattam.

We'll probably at least get a GOW4 announcement and a new UC4 trailer/multiplayer footage.

Nah, the new troll for this PSX should be announcing Crash PS4 then showing the PS1 game
Layden: "We are pleased to announce that Crash Bandicoot will be returning to PS4 ...
*audience goes wild*
Layden: as part of the PS1 Classic games catalog that will be available on PS Now starting today."

Crash Bandicoot: Master Wumpa Edition

remastered ps1 games with added online multiplayer!

Playing through Sly Cooper Thieves in Time right now. I've had it in my backlog for some time and I really hope they let Sanzaru make more entries in the series. They did it better than Sucker Punch has ever done it.

I'd love a new Sly game. First is still best however. Least amount of shitty friends and whatnot.

Oh, I thought you actually knew something or that SSM mentioned a new project. SSM probably always have several games in production with third parties, not just one.

You want safe bets we may as well start talking about Gran Turismo 8.

Santa Monica Studio publish a lot of indie games, the indie games they publish usually have high production values & a big budget relative to other indie games. The indie games they publish are what the PS2 used to get as AA games, basically.

I think they'll announce more than two, last year they announced four games, one of them was fat princess, which is supposed to come out later this year.

Yeah, we could be looking after some californian indie studios and try to figure out with who they might be working. That is their usual approach, apart from Rapture which was made by a british studio.

Also, dont they have two creative directors? Barlog is prob working in God Of War as that leaves me wondering in what Nathan Gary is working. Maybe they have two triple A on the line.

Wasn't SSM working on a sci-fi game? Or which high-profile Sony studio did?

I remember seeing a teaser image years ago iirc

Sony cancelled the game after 4 year od development and layed off most of the people working on it. It was supposed to come out this holiday, Stig Asmussen.was the head of the project

Could it be Thatgamecompany that they're working with again?

I believe Sony Santa Monica also has a second AAA game in the works as Shawn Layden said that Shannon Studstill (the studio head) is working to bring the next big franchise out from there. It's possible that they rebooted the development of their new sci-fi IP, they did talk about the studio going through a reboot or something like that.
