The dumbest reason I've seen so far is "blank character shouldn't get in because he/she is really anime". lol As
 
Ingrid is the absolute worst character in street fighter continuity , I'd go so far as to say that putting Morrigan in the game (yes I mean darkstalkers Morrigan) would make more sense.

I would rather have 6 variations of Twelve and Necro than see Ingrid taint the roster.

I don't even want to see her used as DLC down the road , there are at least 50 other characters to pull from the well before you'd need to start scraping the diseased moss from the side to use Ingrid.
Not that I'm worried it would happen , they have a much better Athena knock off with Rose who also happens to be a legit cool character.
 
as someone pointed out on eventhubs Ingrids first appearance was in 'Capcom Fighting Evolution' witch just so happen to be onos first streetfighter game he was producer on..... so ya you can all think him for ingrid

i could see her as maybe one of the DLC characters down the line but when you're launching with only 16 slots..... if someone wants to pay $4.99 for her fine but dont take out sagat/blanka/balrog/gief/sim ect ect of the base characters for onos loli waifu

Juri, Yun, Yang, and Bison (that manga design predated him IIRC) all were based off of Manga/Anime designs.

First I was like: pale Big Bear / unmasked Raiden from Fatal Fury. Then: palette swapped Alex. Never crossed my mind that he was wearing a white shirt :P. Dudley it is lol

i just picked a quick example way to blow things out of proportion ok blanka... my point is with limited slots dont put in characters very few people will play and then put mains in as DLC to force people to shell out more cash

that is exactly what they should do tho...

If these characters are truly unpopular as people here feel...why the fuck would you make them the ones people have to pay for? You are legit saying the reason why they would make the popular dudes DLC.
 
- Dark skin
- Overalls
- Blue gloves
- Yellow stripe on the side of pants
- No red
- Black or dark hair
- White shirt

A lot of SF characters are based on popular manga/anime. Pretending those roots don't exist is being ignorant. Hell even Ryu (and sagat) are ripped from some manga.

No she's anime because her personality is taken straight out of one and her design looks like it fits Blazblue more than Street Fighter

IIRC they were based on real martial artists. And even a lot of Manga and anima are based on real life stuff too. Capcom copying designs isnt what they are talking about.

Also when people call out characters for being "Generic modern anime" that isn't what they are referring too.

If there is a manga based on the martial artists Ryu and Sagat are based off and Capcom copies those designs. That doesnt mean Ryu/Sagat are "anime" tropes. Well I guess Ryu is , in terms of personality but thats pretty much any goody good naive main character.

Also what does me calling her a loli have anything to do with my post about diversity.

When you break it down she is still blonde white female. If you want her in because of gameplay thats fine and your opinion. But she doesn't bring much culture diversity compared to many other female characters.

To you a character like Alex,Dudley,Vega may all just be the same "Muscular" dudes category. But they represent different culture and add to the diversity.
