As for the game itself, after playing the PS3 alpha and the PS4 beta for a while, I got the feeling that it might be fun with friends, but I don't feel like playing it alone.

Climbing monsters is handled a bit differently, aside from that it feels pretty much like the original DDO. Movement might feel a bit different because of the online nature of the game, but that's about it.how is it when compared to the original dragon dogma?
Can I play this game with a JP PSN account?
Looks like they ditched the classical mythology-inspired designs for more stylized ones.
At around the two minute mark, yep.Aww, almost teared up a bit when they played the music from Dragon's Dogma at the end of the trailer. Sadly, have zero interest in playing Dragon's dogma online even if gets released in the west.

Fuck you Capcom. Bring this game to the west.
Why is this not coming to the West? Come the fuck on Capcom!
They probably don't have the money to get Western servers that support a large number of players, coupled with a lack of faith that it'll make enough to warrant the localization. If they just patched in English subs, then the JP servers would have to handle both JP and Western players, likely increasing latency and the risk of other strains.
It's really sad to look back on Capcom over the past decade; they tried every anti-consumer tactic in the book and none of it paid off for them. Now they're too poor to develop AAA games on their own, or release moderate projects like this in the West. If only they had been more appreciative of their customers and fans, all of this probably would have turned out very differently for them.
Someone mentioned in the other thread that's its current F2P model is similar to the one in Monster Hunter Frontier and would not fly outside of Asia/Japan. So if they were to bring it to the west they would have to rethink said model from the ground up.

Still yearning for an HD remaster of Dark Arisen..
I completely forgot about this. I even forgot that I got into the beta. I guess I just don't care anymore.
Agreed, all looks status quo to me too. What do you mean? Looks like Dragon's Dogma to me. Unless you're just talking about the Panzer Dragoon styled dragon?
So it's a buy to play game? Or is that just for the retail version?
From what it looks like "retail" version comes with a bunch of DLC codes, 30 days subscription? bunch of tickets, soundtrack CD and Art book.
I need to go look at the OHP to see what the actual deal is for those that dont pick up the LE retail version.
Heres the link for the LE stuff.

Game price has already gone out of wack on amazon and such. Funny too since its not like people will be able to play that much earlier than the official release.

Ok it looks like there really isnt a subscription but more that there are merits for those who pay. It says too that by playing freely there is no content locked away either with the standard game itself.

Okay, so it's real free-to-play with benefits for package purchasers. Got it.
